Arkhipo-Osipovka is a resort village 50 km from Gelendzhik on the Black Sea coast. Located in a beautiful mountain valley between two rivers. Arkhipo-Osipovka received its name in honor of Arkhip Osipov, a participant in the Caucasian War of 1840, soldier of the 77th Tenginsky Regiment. In memory of his valor, a six-meter snow-white openwork cross rises on the site of the blown-up enemy fortification. It was installed on a hill so that it could be seen from the sea and from any point of the settlement.

The nearest airport to the resort is 50 km away - in Gelendzhik.
In summer, it receives regular flights from many Russian cities. You can go to Arkhipo-Osipovka from the airport by bus or taxi. A taxi ride will cost from 1200 RUB. Buses No. 5 and 12 run from the airport; you can take them to the “old” suburban bus station and there transfer to a bus to Arkhipo-Osipovka. The beach near the Vulan River is the next most popular among tourists. Here the conditions are the same as on Central, and it is also always crowded and noisy. The pebble beach near the Teshebs River is located in one of the most picturesque places in Arkhipo-Osipovka. There are cafes and entertainment here.
The section of the sea from Arkhipo-Osipovka to the village of Betta is famous for its amazing underwater terrain and is considered one of the most interesting places for spearfishing and diving.

Accommodation in them can be rented for only 1500-2000 RUB for a standard room, but this option is unlikely to be suitable for families with children. Entertainment and attractions of Arkhipo-Osipovka
Perhaps the most famous attraction of Arkhipo-Osipovka is the ancient dolmens: burial structures built from multi-ton stone slabs and blocks, erected in the Bronze Age (2-4 centuries BC). It is here that one of the largest concentrations of dolmens is located: about fifty at a relatively short distance from each other - in the area of the village of Pshada and on the ridge of the Gypsy Gap. In addition, in the vicinity of Arkhipo-Osipovka, many burial mounds of the ancient Achaean and Zikh peoples have been preserved.
Arkhipo-Osipovka is also home to the no less famous Mikhailovskoye fortification, which was part of the Black Sea coastline system. Built in 1837 at the mouth of the Vulan River, it protected the surrounding area from the assault of the mountaineers until the last. Realizing that it was impossible to hold the enemy any longer, Arkhip Osipov, one of the defenders of the fortification, blew up a powder magazine, dying along with the enemy. A memorial white cross dedicated to him stands on the site of the bombed warehouse. The fortification itself was not destroyed and today is a historical monument of the Caucasian War of 1840, on the territory of which the Museum of the History of the Caucasus has been opened.
And after admiring the model of the ancient Roman outpost in the museum, you can go to the archaeological site of a Roman watchtower from the 1st century AD. e. near the village.
The Museum of Bread and Wine is part of the Mikhailovskoye Fortification museum complex. It presents the tools of bakers and winemakers from different countries and eras, and tells about the history of these crafts in the Kuban. The exhibition includes a working windmill from the 19th century, where you can watch live the transformation of grain into flour. The museum organizes tastings of exhibits.

This monument is an object of historical heritage from the time of the Caucasian War.
The fortress, open to tourists, is an exact copy of the 1837 fortress. It was recreated on the former ramparts of the Mikhailovsky fortification (hence the name of the museum).
On the available area of 130 square meters, several exhibitions and expositions are collected at once:
- Paleontological: here you can see fossilized shells, plant imprints, part of the skeleton of a gigantic deer;
- Exhibition of the ancient period: it widely presents coins, amphorae, models of ancient historical objects;

Natural beauty
One of the most famous natural beauties of Arkhipo-Osipovka is the Teshebskie (Bigiusskie, Gebeusskie) six-cascade waterfalls, for viewing two cascades of which there are lifts and observation platforms. The height of the first cascade of the waterfall is 12 m, the second - 6 m, approaches to the third cascade and beyond are difficult. Here, at the foot of the waterfall, over more than a thousand years of history, the stream has formed a depression filled with clear blue water. You can swim in it.
Teshebskie (Bigiusskie, Gebeusskie) waterfalls have a triple name after the mountain located on the border with the Tuapse region, which has two equivalent names - Bigius and Gebeus. It is called Teshebsky after the Teshebs River, which is translated from Adyghe as “golden water” by the hue of the streams flowing down the mountain slopes from a height of 735 m.
Long-distance hikers can take a 35-kilometer, three-day trek to Podkolzin Yar. Along the way, travelers will visit the Blue Grotto, Narrow Gorge and stalactite cave.
The Sosnovaya Shchel tract near Arkhipo-Osipovka is famous for its grove of Crimean pine. A little to the west stretches a mixed forest, in which Crimean and Pitsunda pine, oak and hornbeam, juniper and mackerel coexist. Many endemic plants of the Caucasus have also been preserved here: thymus, campanula and others. The forest is interesting for its unique combination of flora of the Caucasus and Crimea.
Immediately behind the village on the Gelendzhik side, on an area of one and a half hectares, there is a grove of relict swamp cypress - a rather unusual plant for these places.
Spread over 10 hectares, the park of the Arkhipo-Osipovka sanatorium offers an introduction to more than 130 species of exotic plants. These are agaves and Chinese wisteria, berry yew and evergreen boxwood (or “iron tree” - not every ax can take it, and it sinks in water due to its high density), Himalayan cedar and Lankaran acacia, felt paulownia and even “Chinese silver apricot "is a relict gingko tree that appeared on Earth even before dinosaurs!
Arkhipo-Osipovka for children
Just before entering Arkhipo-Osipovka, you can stop and admire the “House with Reindeers.” This is a two-story house made of wild stone, in the design of which more than 50 sculptures of animals and birds are used: deer on the roof, bats on the pediment, with a bear at the entrance. It was built by a local forester in the middle of the last century, and the house became a full-fledged landmark of the village.
On the resort's embankment there is the Malibu amusement park and the Coconut Paradise mini-water park. Nearby in the dolphinarium, two Black Sea dolphins and a fur seal willingly demonstrate to everyone synchronized jumping through hoops, playing ball and other tricks. Visitors to the crocodile farm will be treated to a fascinating excursion with a detailed story about its inhabitants - crocodiles, turtles, iguanas, monitor lizards and snakes.
In the center of the village, the large water park “Emerald City” offers its guests 13 slides for adults and 21 children’s slides. For the youngest visitors, the shallow pool has slides in the shape of fairy-tale animals. The highlight of the children's area is a large pirate ship.
You can cool off and remember winter at the indoor ice skating rink located next to the beach. On the synthetic surface, people skate in hockey skates and roller skates, which are immediately available for rent.
