An excellent option for a trip with the family is the exclusive village of Kuchugury.

The shallow and warm Azov Sea attracts thousands of tourists. The village is located on the Taman Peninsula, which is washed by the Black and Azov Seas. Tourists are attracted by the location of the resort area on the coast itself. You can get to the beach from anywhere in the village.

Nutrition

Kuchugury is simply a storehouse of fresh fruits and vegetables. At the central market every morning you can buy local ripe fruits:

  • Peaches starting from 40 rub. / kg.
  • Grapes - at the height of the season from 50 rubles / kg.
  • Apples - 35 rub./kg.
  • Figs - from 90 rub./kg.

For vacationers with children, fresh milk is offered for 70 rubles. 1.5 liter bottle, goat milk cheese for 350 RUR/kg, cottage cheese and sour cream.

Local producers offer a wide range of sausages, frankfurters and sausages made from turkey and chicken.

Average price:

  • Boiled sausage - 220 rub./kg.
  • Turkey ham - 350 rub./kg.
  • Turkey roll - 380 RUR/kg.
  • Children's chicken sausages - 190 RUR/kg.

Right at the entrance of the market there is a large store, the prices of products in which are on average 10–15% higher than in any region.

We bought fresh food every morning and cooked ourselves.

For those who like to visit cafes, Kuchugury has a rich selection of small and cozy establishments. Since most vacationers are with children, each cafe has a separate children's menu.

We visited the Puss in Boots cafe several times at st. Red/55.

The average price for an afternoon snack for three people is 525 rubles. The menu included:

  • Pancakes with jam - 120 rub. serving of three pieces.
  • Non-alcoholic mojito - 55 rub.

For barbecue lovers, we recommend visiting the small cafe “Shashlychnaya No. 1” at st. Red/36. The kebabs in this establishment are prepared only from fresh meat, and the secret of the marinade is inherited in the owner’s family. The taste of melting, aromatic meat is hard to forget. The average price for 150 g of lamb is 180 rubles.

For very little ones, you can buy baby food in the store. There are no problems with purchasing personal hygiene products in Kuchugury. Diapers, baby oil and wipes at a local pharmacy cost 10–15% higher than outside resort towns.

Natural attractions in Kuchugury

The central beach in Kuchugury is one of the best in the Azov Sea. The length of the coastline is 3 km. On the coast there is the purest sand, consisting of quartz and spar.

The whole family with children can visit the following natural attractions: 1. Peach orchards are located at the entrance to the village. Here you can buy delicious peaches at a competitive price. 2. Cape Pekla is located at a distance of three kilometers from the village. This attraction is popular due to its mud volcano, which contains a large amount of minerals and trace elements.

The Pekla volcano is especially popular. Many tourists come here for the healing properties of blue clay. Healing mud helps against many ailments. Baths in the crater are free of charge. The distance to the sea is 100 meters.

Where to go and where to have fun in Kuchugury?

A favorite place of entertainment here for many tourists is the Madagascar rope park, where my husband and I went for a walk. We even saw little six-year-old children there, accompanied by their parents. We were also allowed to climb along the yellow path, which had various obstacles.

In the evening, I advise you to visit the Emelya amusement park. Near the park you can buy various souvenirs, magnets, pendants and gifts for friends. There, in local cafes you can buy cotton candy, pasties and delicious kebabs. Not far from this park there is a go-kart for adrenaline junkies, where you can ride a go-kart and tickle your nerves. We saw there how men often organized competitions among themselves in go-karts.

While vacationing here, I spent a lot of time on the beach, and already on the second day I wanted variety and something special. My husband and I went for walks around the area and went for walks in nature far from the village. The natural landscape of this place is steppes, which are very beautiful in their own way. There are also many farms in the area, thanks to which you can find delicious fruits and vegetables everywhere. Upon entering the village, we noticed a beautiful peach orchard, where we bought wonderful and delicious peaches at a good price.

I also noticed that the hotel owner Inna and her husband Vasily love to walk along the sea along the evening beach, which surprises with its beauty and wonderful sunsets. We also often walked along the sea in the southern evenings and photographed sunsets, every day they are completely different.

sunset on the Sea of Azov

When we were staying at the hotel, we were advised to visit the healing mud that is located here. There are 2 mud volcanoes here. The first is located in the village for the Motherland, called Tizdar. It is equipped for visitors (showers, stairs). Entrance 800₽. The second one is absolutely wild, free, called Plevak and is located at a distance (~3 km) from the center of Kuchugur. The approach to it is quite complicated. Walk along the sea or along a sloping dirt road, easier by taxi - it’s 300 rubles one way.

spa treatments in the volcano

Having already had experience, I advise you to take plastic bags with you, where you can put your clothes and take them with dirty hands after swimming. You will have to go down to the sea along a steep hill of prickly, frozen mud.

I saw some people take socks with them and put them directly on their dirty feet so that it doesn’t hurt to walk. Take bottled water to wash your hands and feet and not get everything dirty.

Another nuance is that it is difficult to get down and out of the mud crater, there are no special devices, and the sides are very slippery. In general, despite all this, I was there 4 times! Understand, yes, I liked it that way. I went like I was in a spa, lay down in the middle of the crater, right next to me there was gurgling from the ground, Matvey timed 15 minutes and I lay relaxed, as if in weightlessness.

The skin is so soft and pleasant after the procedure! I hope my joints have healed too. Only by lying in a volcano does the healing effect occur. If you take the mud with you and apply it at home or on the coast, the effect will be purely cosmetic. But this also suits me, so I take the dirt with me!

By the way, this is an excellent solution to improve your body’s health - you can go to a mud volcano and take mud baths completely free of charge, I advise everyone to take advantage of this. My husband and I felt the healing effects of this natural mud ourselves. In composition and to the touch it is soft and greasy, like a cream, and it is quite pleasant to smear on it. Dirt is brought to the hotel in large buckets and you can use it completely free of charge. It is very convenient to apply to the body early in the morning on the beach and rinse with sea water. Just don’t sunbathe or swim for a long time after such a procedure. We quickly left for breakfast ourselves.

In the evening you can have fun here at discos and various foam parties. It’s quite easy to find them by the music that plays from everywhere in the village. We attended one of the foam parties in the center of the village. Pleasant music played there and an unforgettable atmosphere reigned.

Here you can go on various excursions, but you won’t be able to go for a long time with your little daughter. We only attended a wine tasting at the Guy Kadzor winery. This is one of the most popular wineries in the Anapa area. We were invited to take a guided walk around the winery and see the wine production, then we were invited to taste their best wines.

Popular places in Kuchugury

Resort guests will enjoy the local seasonal market. Here you can buy all kinds of seafood, vegetables and fruits. Many traders offer homemade dairy products.

There is also a House of Culture in the village, which has 12 sections for children. The music school of arts is also located in the same building. In recent years, an All-Russian camp has been organized, which brings together rural librarians from different localities. In 2009, the Alexander Nevsky Temple was erected in the village. A Sunday school for children was opened there.

Entertainment for children

There are two parks in Kuchugury that will appeal to both children and adults. A popular place is Emelya Park. It features various attractions, and in the evenings you can attend exciting show programs. The territory is decorated with green spaces and beautiful lighting. Here you can ride a Ferris wheel, giant swings and mini racetracks. Entrance to the park is free, and the cost of entertainment is affordable.

Interesting attractions include the Madagascar rope park. It consists of a variety of obstacles on rope courses. They are placed at a height of 1-3 meters from the ground surface. You can choose a suitable route depending on the age of the child. The green route is suitable for small children, and the yellow route is for 10-14 years old. The safety of participants is ensured using a carabiner and a rope.

Interesting entertainment can also be found in the surrounding area. At a distance of 32 km from the village there is the village of Golubitskaya. Here you can visit a zoo, a water park, a dolphinarium and a crocodile farm. You can also visit the Golden Beach water park in Anapa. Bus excursions around the Taman Peninsula are also popular.

Accommodation and meals

There are no luxury hotels in Kuchugury. But you can find decent options for living in the private sector. Guest houses where you can immediately pay for room and board are also considered a good option. Many private courtyards are equipped with a kitchen, barbecue and seating area. Some guest houses offer equipped swimming pools for children. There are also several boarding houses in the village.

You can buy food at the local market, shops and supermarkets. You can also eat in local cafes and restaurants.

Accommodation

The Taman Peninsula will delight visitors with its mild climate and warm sea. The village of Kuchugury stretches along the coast and, having rented any accommodation, you will certainly be within walking distance from the warm sea with a sandy beach.

There are no large and modern hotels in Kuchugury, and the few available can be classified as guest houses. There are a large number of boarding houses in the village, as well as rooms for rent in every private house. This cozy and quiet village is chosen by residents of big cities, so I recommend booking rooms in the place you like in advance and deciding what services you are willing to pay for.

The infrastructure in the villages is undeveloped, so this place is not suitable for those who like to relax with foam parties, night discos and restaurants. But you simply cannot find a better holiday with children and for an elderly couple.

There are several accommodation options available for guests in Kuchugury.

Hotels

Pros:

  • New buildings with renovation
  • The room has a TV, air conditioning, bathroom
  • Price includes meals
  • Availability of a playground or swimming pool
  • Walking distance to infrastructure: market, pharmacy, savings bank, shops, cafes
  • Entertainment activities for children and adults

Minuses:

  • High price per person
  • Most are located close to the central market, where there is constant noise and commotion
  • Lack of a separate courtyard for evening gatherings

Guest houses

Pros:

  • Possibility to choose a location closer to the sea
  • Rooms with and without amenities are offered, which makes it possible to save money
  • Possibility to choose a separate house and live without owners
  • Lower cost compared to hotels
  • Possibility to eat on your own or pay full board
  • Availability of a separate area for a picnic, barbecue or just relaxing in the yard

Minuses:

  • Not always high-quality repairs
  • Due to the large number of residents, there may be no hot water, since the available boiler volume is not selected correctly

Private sector

Pros:

  • You can choose any location, the first line from 700 RUB/person, the second from 450 RUB/person.
  • Most owners have a separate patio with barbecue and free parking for their car.
  • There is a place for cooking

Minuses:

  • Owners are not always honest and clean people
  • By agreeing in advance, you take a risk, since the picture may be very different from reality.

The most inexpensive option is to stay with a private owner, but if you are going on vacation for the first time and are making an advance payment, you should understand that you are taking a risk.

We settled in the private sector in a small cottage - the Rakushka boarding house. On the territory there were several separate houses and three rooms with a common hall inside the house. We chose the economy option - a room for three without a bathroom. The toilet and shower were located in the hall and were designed for two rooms. Price per room per day 1,200 rub.

When choosing a location, we took into account two criteria:

  • distance from the sea;
  • price per person.

We were allowed to use the shared kitchen, automatic washing machine, and ironing board free of charge with our room. There was a TV and a huge soft sofa in the hall.
