Weather in Tuapse in winter
Tuapse is located in a humid subtropical climate zone, so the winters here are mild, with little snow, rather rainy and cloudy. The Black Sea, which acts as a natural heat reservoir, does not allow the thermometer to drop below 0, and the mountains protect the resort from cold winds.
The average daytime temperature of the season is +7-10 °C, nighttime temperature varies between +1-2 °C. Snow in Tuapse is a rare phenomenon, but even if it falls, it does not stay on the ground and melts quickly. It rains 7-8 days a month, and the sun has difficulty breaking through the leaden clouds.
The weather in the suburbs of Tuapse generally resembles a vest: a stripe is warm, a stripe is cold, here it’s calm and clear, there it’s windy, dank and damp.
In each of the satellite villages, in winter, its own microclimate is formed, and while in Olginka it is dry and the sun is shining, in Agoy there is ice, in Dzhubga it rains, and in Novomikhailovsky there is already a meter of snow. How to get there?
Getting to Tuapse by public transport is difficult: you will have to resort to frequent transfers. The closest airport is more than 100 km away. Therefore, you can fly by plane - to Gelendzhik, Krasnodar, Adler, but then you will have a slightly tiring 3-hour journey by train. Ticket price - 400 rubles. If possible, you can fork out for a taxi - a personal car in this case will cost 3,500. This is an excellent option to get straight to the center.
The local railway station receives all trains heading to Adler. True, the average travel time from Russian cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg is from 21 to 38 hours, depending on the route. It is better to buy tickets not at the station, but in advance - on the Russian Railways website, where you can also check the schedule. The Lastochka train passes through the resort: it runs from Krasnodar and Adler.
There are no direct bus routes to Tuapse; you will have to make transfers - the distance is long, so the trip will be long and tiring, but inexpensive. Perhaps one of the most relevant ways to get to Tuapse is by personal car along the M-4 Don federal highway. There is one drawback - it is paid for almost the entire length.
Sights of Tuapse: what to visit in winter
Tourists who decide to appreciate all the charm of a holiday in winter Tuapse have a lot of options for spending their time. According to the old resort tradition, people begin their acquaintance with the city from the embankment, which is called Primorsky Boulevard here.
The 400-meter promenade was reconstructed in 2014 and today it welcomes guests with cute benches, lanterns and flower beds. A specific symbol of the city also flaunts here - the port control tower, which, due to its resemblance to a round candy, Tuapse residents called “chupa chups”.

Two more popular places for walks in Tuapse are Plane Tree Alley, located along Karl Marx Street, and the city park, reconstructed in 2015 according to plans from the early 20th century. Nearby are the house-museum of the artist A. A. Kiselev, the Museum of History and Local Lore and the Defense Museum.
Tuapse harbor stretches along the Black Sea coast with 19 berths where dry cargo ships and passenger liners moor. In the vicinity of the seaport, there are war memorials - the Hill of Heroes, the Monument to the Unknown Soldier, the Eternal Flame and the “City of Military Glory” stele.

7 km from the city center is the famous Kiseleva Rock, near which the fabulously successful fishing scene from the film “The Diamond Arm” was filmed. The megalithic dolmen complex “Psynako”, or “Temple of the Sun”, located 15 km from the resort, near the village of Anastasievka, deserves special attention. Near the settlement of Beskrovny there are ruins of an ancient fortress that will interest lovers of antiquity.

Another worthy object to visit is the Mamedovo Gorge, which is reached by a picturesque path passing through a string of mini-waterfalls. Fans of eco-tourism can travel to the Altubinal farm, lost in the mountains above the Black Sea. In a settlement where there is not even electricity, there live about a dozen people who lead subsistence farming.
To admire the natural beauty, go to the Perun waterfall, whose height reaches 33 m. In summer, the cascade turns into a small stream, but in winter the seething stream looks most impressive. 30 km from Tuapse there is a hydrological natural monument - the turquoise-green Lake Khyzhi, the main attraction of the village of Maloye Pseushkho.

Don’t miss the Tuapse observation decks - one is located above the wild beach of Cape Kadosh, the other is on the top of the Training rock. If you want to descend from “heaven” underground, visit the Honey and Bolshaya Krivenkovskaya caves, look into the Cossack Gap - an amazingly beautiful valley of hydrogen sulfide springs near the village of Georgievskoye.

Attractions and entertainment
Walking along the Tuapse embankment, you can admire the historical sights and other interesting objects located near it. In addition to an entertaining walk, you can arrange a real educational excursion. It is better to start an impromptu excursion from October Revolution Square, where a lot of interesting things are located.

The October Revolution Square itself is worthy of a walk in itself - after all, it is a beautiful area with flower beds, fountains and benches.

On one side of the square in the park you can look at the “Stone Flower” fountain , and on the other - at the horse mackerel monument . the Tuapse Defense Museum , worthy of a separate long visit .
Next to the square is the Sailors' Palace of Culture , built in 1937. Nowadays it is a city cultural center. In front of the house of culture there is a sculpture of “Sailor” standing at the helm, and a sculpture of “Maksimka” in the form of a little black boy with a strong sailor Luchkin, the heroes of the famous movie of the same name “Maksimka”, which tells about the rescue of a black boy named Maksimka from a sunken ship.

The monument to the fighters for Soviet power in the form of a triangular stele 21 meters high, erected in November 1966 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution, stands in the center of the square.
The famous control room of the Tuapse seaport management, 70 meters high, looks like the mast of a real ship and is visible from anywhere on the embankment, square and other areas of the city. The concrete improvised mast is crowned with a glass ball, which is the control room.

Musical fountain , located on Revolution Square, soars its jets of water to a height of 18 meters. Among other "singing" fountains, it is unique in that it does not have a water bowl, allowing spectators to walk through it.

Not far from the fountain there is a flowerbed - a sundial in the form of a sail, installed inside the dial. The shadow of the sail shows the current time during daylight hours. Next to the flowerbed there is a chess corner for lovers of intellectual games.
In the public garden on the other side of the fountain, on the Alley of Heroes of the Soviet Union, there is an “City of Military Glory” stela , opened in May 2012 in honor of Tuapse being awarded the status of a city of Military Glory. Walking through the square and going down to the embankment towards the sea station, you can find a monument to “Glorious Soviet military sailors from the working people of the city” in the form of a slab with the image of a warship, installed in 1943 in honor of the sailors who defended the coast of Tuapse during the Great Patriotic War. Located on the burial site of sailors.
The most impressive structure near the Tuapse embankment is the seaport. The sea trade port dates back more than a hundred years of its existence. The first ship entered the port on December 26, 1898, and ships from all over the world still sail here.

At the very beginning of the embankment, near the port, there is a monument to the crew of the minelayer Nikolai Ostrovsky , opened in 1971 in honor of the crew who died in 1942.
A little further from the October Revolution Square is a monument to the destroyer “Kerch” in the form of a large sandstone and an anchor, erected in 1968 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the events of June 1918, when the destroyer’s crew helped sink the Black Sea Fleet in Novorossiysk so that it would not be captured by the Germans troops, and the destroyer itself was sunk into the sea at a depth of 27 meters near the Tuapse port, where it still lies.
At the end of the embankment you can have a snack in the unusual Lazurit cafe , located on a sea boat. The boat was built in 1957 and, before finally mooring, it took residents and guests of the city around the sea for a long time. And on the other side of the embankment there is a small amusement park with trampolines, carousels and other entertainment. Cafes and attractions are open during the warm season.

Excursions
The Tuapse region allows you to spend your leisure time in an interesting and varied way. While relaxing here, you can easily organize a rich excursion program.

The area with a rich history is “stuffed” with grottoes, caves, stone idols and moraines. Hiking to the canyon of the Bashenka River
The trekking excursion takes place along two canyons of the Bashenka River, adjacent to each other. The first is quiet and shady, surrounded by tropical forest and overhanging rocks. The walls rushing upward create delightful corridors 2-20 m wide.
The second canyon is light, with wide snow-white plumes, polished to a shine by Mother Nature. There are also small but picturesque waterfalls and natural swimming pools, one of which is heart-shaped.

Winter in Tuapse is a great time for recreation, excursions and walking. Silence, solitude and cloudy weather give this resort a special charm that is difficult to put into words.
Features of the city and climate
Arriving in this city, you can choose the route to the northwest (towards Novorossiysk) or to the southeast (towards Sochi). The seashore, underwater world and forest vegetation in these directions are fundamentally different, and Tuapse is located right between these dissimilar natural landscapes. Another important point is that in the direction of Adler you can travel both by road and by rail, while in the direction of Novorossiysk - only by road.
The city is very hot in summer, and rainy weather prevails in autumn and winter. Flash floods are possible. Due to the presence of large industrial enterprises, the cost of living here is low. Current prices for holidays in Tuapse in the private sector near the sea - https://privettur.ru/tuapse/chastnyi_sektor/ can be found here, they are quite acceptable for vacationers, especially when compared with more common destinations in the region.
The city has well-groomed beaches, but for a variety of tourist holidays you can visit the surrounding villages: Agoy or Shepsi, or move further - to Lazarevskoye, Nebug, Olginka. Transport accessibility of Tuapse is high. There is no airport. The easiest way to get to this city is by train, but other options are also quite acceptable. As a rule, vacation in Tuapse is not an end in itself, and people travel further, often changing to other vehicles.
