Need doctors and school

We walked around the central square of Turinsk and talked with the residents. This is what the townspeople told the Regional Newspaper.

– I love Turinsk very much - this is my small Motherland. The town is calm, quiet, among forests. My children, grandchildren - everyone lives here. We would like to resolve the issue with the new school by the city’s anniversary. There are a lot of children, studying in the second shift, meeting and seeing them off is an eternal problem,” shared pensioner Lidiya Sutormina.

– I love my city – there is clean air here, good people. I was born here, my family is here. In principle, we have everything for a normal life. There is only one problem - there is a very shortage of medical personnel. The city hospital and people are suffering – something needs to be done about it,” said young mother Marina Morozova.

The head of the administration, Alexander Puzyrev, admitted: both problems for Turinsk are very acute.

– There are four schools in the city, buildings built in the 1950s and 60s, all overcrowded - more than 800 children study in the second shift. Of particular concern is school No. 4, where one of the buildings has been in disrepair since 2012, the gym and canteen are located in another building, and children are forced to walk there along the street - there is no warm passage. A new school is urgently needed; Turin residents have been waiting for it for several years. Everything is ready for construction: there is a design that has passed state examination and a plot of land. But we were not included in the state school construction programs for 2022,” the head said.

Medicine in the city is also not easy, he commented:

– There is a significant shortage of medical personnel, although the city has all the conditions for work: comfortable housing is provided, the children of medical workers are provided with places in kindergartens, and employment issues for family members are resolved. Turinsk is a small town, and doctors and paramedics who come to us have the right to financial support. The district budget also provides funds for social support for resident doctors. Our guys study in medical institutions, including in targeted areas, but not all return to work in their hometown - apparently, the regional center is more attractive.

The issue is acute not only with personnel, Puzyrev noted, but also with carrying out major repairs of the clinic building, operating unit, surgical and therapeutic departments. The city submitted the design and estimate documentation to the regional Ministry of Health.

“We really hope for the support of the ministry,” the head concluded.

Alexander Puzyrev was born in 1958 in the village of Lenskoye, Turinsky District. Graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of USTU-UPI. Historical sketch

Founded in 1600 by a written head from Tyumen F.O. Yanov as a fort and settlement of coachmen on the Siberian Highway on the site of the ancient city of Epanchin (Epanchin-Yurt - the former center of the possessions of the Ostyak prince Epanza), destroyed in 1581 by Ermak’s detachment. It was an intermediate point (halfway between Tyumen and Verkhoturye) for the protection and maintenance of the waterway from European Russia to Siberia. Name by river Tura.

– Turinsk is the only city in the Middle Urals where monuments of that time have been preserved: residential buildings of the Decembrists, the grave memorial of the Ivashevs, a park founded by the Decembrists. There is a memorial museum of the Decembrists. The park opened last year after reconstruction and found a second life. This is the historical core of the city, which invariably attracts tourists,” explained Alexander Puzyrev.

In the anniversary year, Turin residents plan to continue the improvement of public areas and the restoration of memorial sites. The program of events to prepare the city for the 420th anniversary was agreed upon by the governor of the region, Evgeny Kuyvashev .

– On behalf of the governor, we were allocated 30 million rubles from the regional budget for the improvement of Lenin Street. This is part of a larger project to renovate the city center, which also includes the improvement of the city square. The memorial to those killed in the Civil and Great Patriotic Wars will be reconstructed; the cost of the work is 20 million rubles. The overhaul of the district House of Culture has already begun - funds have also been allocated on behalf of the governor, said Alexander Ivanovich.

City authorities intend to enter Turinsk into the All-Russian competition for the improvement of small towns and historical settlements in order to receive co-financing for larger improvement projects. The development of urban infrastructure is also underway: this year the reconstruction of treatment facilities will begin in Turinsk, two new boiler houses will be put into operation, and construction of the road along Zagorodnaya Street will begin.
