Kerch is an amazing city. Holidays here bring true pleasure. Many tourists, including most of my friends, ask the question: “What to do, where to go?” And to help them in this “difficult task,” I decided to select the best places where they can have a very interesting time and have fun.
City parks: the best attractions for children
First of all, you should pay attention to the parks of culture and recreation, which Kerch is so rich in. Entertainment for children and adults, attractions, walks, admiring nature, the sea - this is not a complete list of what you can do there, while admiring the enchanting landscapes of the sea and the city port.
The Central Park of Culture and Culture is located right on the Alexandrovskaya embankment. According to historical information, it was founded at the end of the 19th century, which means that it is about to celebrate its 150th anniversary. By human standards this is a lot, but by Kerch standards it’s just a little bit, because the city is almost the same age as the Italian capital. There are many different terraces, green corners, cafes and other fast food establishments adored by children. The park is popular among the young local population and guests of the same age due to the presence of attractions, sports grounds and a water station.
The second similar object is Komsomolsky Park, it is also located in the coastal zone, on its perimeter you will find the Palace of Children's Creativity, sometimes various open cultural and entertainment events are held here. There are many huge, old trees, so it is extremely pleasant to walk here on a hot afternoon.
Where are the children's beaches on the coast?
SunDali" on Arshintsevskaya Spit
Parents with children most often prefer to relax on the SunDali beach on the Arshintsevskaya Spit , which is 12 km from the city. The most convenient way to get to it is by car, moving from the Heroes of Stalingrad Highway in the direction of the Arshintsevskaya Spit. minibuses No. 5, 16, 26, 41 go to the City Beach stop .
The length of the coastline is 3 km, the width of the area is up to 100 m. The beach is sandy , the entrance to the water is gentle. The beach infrastructure is well developed: there are showers, toilets, changing rooms, attractions, trampolines, inflatable slides and swimming pools, and there is a rental point for sun loungers and umbrellas. During the daytime, doctors and rescuers are on duty.
- Location: Arshintsevskaya Spit, Arshintsevo microdistrict.
Turtle
Local residents call “Turtle” a small section of the coast adjacent to Komsomolsky Park. The unusual name is explained by the fact that near the entrance there is a large painted sculpture depicting a sea turtle.
Since the beach is located in a park area, there is no traditional shoreline with pebble or sand. Trees and grass approach almost the water's edge, thanks to which the shore is provided with natural shade .
The site has only the most necessary amenities for vacationers - showers and changing rooms, a playground, and a food stall. There are no water attractions or beach equipment rental points.
Note! Near the shore, the bottom can often be covered with silt, so relaxing on the beach is not always comfortable.
get to the vacation spot by any bus going to the stop. "Palace of Pioneers" .
Historical hikes and walks
There are many more options here on where to go and what to see. Firstly, the Adzhimushkay quarries, the main attraction for which Kerch is famous. Of course, this place is not for children's entertainment - rather a test of courage, because you will have to descend to a depth of more than 10 m, then follow the guide through the dim labyrinths. At the same time, you will listen to his story about the courage and heroism of the residents who fought the Nazis for a peaceful sky above their heads.
Excursions are suitable for visitors over six years of age; for children, a visit to the Defense Museum will be enough. In the exhibitions you can see objects
which were used by local partisans and soldiers, and the most unusual exhibit is a tractor that served as a source of light for people locked in the catacombs.
According to reviews, the second place where to go in the city with children is the Kerch (Totleben) fortress, built in the 19th century. It was laid down for the defense of the settlement, but the soldiers did not have to participate in military events at that time. In the 20th century it was used as a warehouse; during the war the Germans tried to destroy it.
Now it is a museum complex that offers sightseeing and thematic excursions to the surviving fortifications and structures. Here you are also allowed to go down into the underground tunnels connecting individual parts of the citadel. A nice thing is that there are group walks for one day, then a visit accompanied by a guide will not be expensive for the family budget.
The Yeni-Kale fort, which translated from Turkish means “new fortress,” is considered a worthy competitor. In fact, this one of the main attractions is almost a hundred years older than the Kerch Citadel. Unfortunately, today it is possible to bypass only part of the fortification, the ruins where there were fortifications, warehouses and outbuildings. The Azov Gate, bastions with towers, reminiscent of past greatness, have been preserved.
Tsarsky Kurgan
The huge burial is an open pyramidal corridor ending in an impressive burial chamber. On the right side of the entrance there is an information stand, and on the left there is a house-museum where finds from similar burials are exhibited. At the ticket office you can purchase souvenirs in the form of keychains and pendants.
The main Kerch mound, in our opinion.
Ticket price for adults is 100 rubles, for children 50 rubles. There are benefits for large families (free visit upon presentation of a document). The most interesting thing is that they make money here not on tickets, but on trinkets made of copper (keychains, pendants in the form of bladed weapons of ancient Scythians). The price of one product is from 250 rubles.
After visiting the Tsarsky Mound, you can visit the Adzhimushkai quarries, which we will write about a little later.
Golden Mound
Differing from its counterparts in the spherical shape of its structure. During recent research, gold and gold-containing alloys were found. Keep in mind that all that remains of it are ruins - fragments of monumental cladding.
Top attractions of Kerch by car
Mound of Ash
Built by Greek craftsmen in the 4th century BC, it is the westernmost Kerch mound, which was discovered only in 1830. It was a haven for the remains of a Scythian nobleman or king, his wife/concubine, squire/driver, horses and a ram. At the moment, the finds of the mound are part of museum collections in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Kyiv.
Crypt of Demeter
Since the crypt itself is accessible only to specialists, since rapid destruction began due to humidity. A complete and reliable copy of the burial 1 in 1 is located near the Mithridatskaya Stairs on Brothers Perepelits Street.
The tomb is notable for its painting; the original dates back to the 1st century AD. It was discovered by the merchant Zaitsev at a depth of 5 meters. The tomb received its name in connection with the image of the goddess on the dome vault; other Greek heroes and gods are also present on the frescoes. The owner of the sarcophagus was never identified; probably one of the nobles or a scion of the royal family.
We definitely recommend visiting the first two mounds and the last one on our list of burials.
Mysteries of nature and man for children
To find out a real natural miracle, you need to go outside the resort, to the village of Bondarenkovo. Not far from it there is the Bulganak hill field with mud volcanoes and lakes. Mud is considered healing, but for young travelers this point is not particularly important, what is important is that you can be smeared with mud from head to toe and not get it from your parents.
It will also be fun to watch the hills: sometimes they are calm, the eruptions are barely noticeable, but sometimes a powerful fountain soars into the air to a height of 10-15 meters. There are small volcanoes that erupt a mass of thick consistency, and large craters with more liquid mud.
You can try to unravel the mysteries of ancient people and previous generations at the Historical and Archaeological Museum of Kerch, where it is also worth going with your child. It traces its history back to 1826, when a local archaeologist, as a result of excavations, collected a large collection of coins, ceramics, and household items. Unfortunately, the history of the institution continues, but the first artifacts disappeared during the Great Patriotic War. New materials were collected bit by bit, which can be viewed in two exhibitions.
The first is dedicated to the Bosporan kingdom, which existed on these lands even before our era (the original name of Kerch was Panticapaeum, the capital of the kingdom). The second displays exhibits showing the life of the settlement, which changed its name more than once. The employees are especially proud of the gold storeroom, where it is easy to admire antique and medieval precious items and coins.
In the courtyard you can get acquainted with other crafts that were common in the medieval town, for example, with the work of local pottery workshops, and an exhibition of sea anchors is open. The practice includes temporary exhibitions, cultural events dedicated to significant dates and anniversaries in life.
As you can see, there is plenty of entertainment for children in Kerch. The hero city in the east of Crimea provides many opportunities for active and educational pastime, which is confirmed by numerous reviews from family travelers.
Sights of Kerch
Picture gallery of the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve
There is an opportunity to touch art and learn the history of the city from ancient to modern times in a rather interesting way. The gallery is located in a beautiful 19th century building, designed in a strict “classical” style. Here you will see a huge number of art and cultural objects. The main exhibition features works by the famous artist N.Ya. Buta. Including his collection, which, by the way, became the basis of the art gallery, “Adzhimukhay. 1942".
Picture gallery of the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve
Here you can also see antique sculptures, painted ceramics, and works of contemporary artists. The gallery regularly hosts various exhibitions where you can see archaeological finds and many other simply amazing things.

"Pantikapaeus"
Today, the ruins of the ancient city of Panticapaeum are located on the territory of the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve. An amazing place that you can visit with children. Unfortunately, little remains of the once huge settlement. Still, walking through these places is a lot of fun. If desired, it is possible to view the remains of temples and residential buildings. True, today tourists are more attracted by the huge necropolis, which includes several tombs.
Panticapaeum
Historical and Archaeological Museum
This is another division of the East Crimean Museum-Reserve. There are a huge number of ancient artifacts here. In fact, all exhibits are divided into two sections: “History of the Bosporan Kingdom” and “From Korchev to Russian Kerch.” There are about 130 thousand copies, including amazing Bosporan coins, as well as banknotes of the Golden Horde, Crimean Khanate and even 99 gold coins. In addition, in the courtyard there is a pottery workshop, exhibitions “Anchors” and “Household Stone”. In general, I recommend it.

Fortress "Kerch"
At one time it was the largest defensive structure on the territory of the entire Crimean Peninsula. And today it amazes with its scale, because many buildings have been preserved in almost perfect condition. On the territory of the fortress there were about 300 buildings for various purposes.
Fortress "Kerch"
An interesting fact is that it is quite difficult to find the Kerch fortress on your own. You have to be very careful to see behind the high hill a structure that has been built over the course of 20 years. More information here.

Trampoline
A family vacation to this fun destination will bring great benefits to both mind and body. It's fun, easy and safe here. The entire center is divided into areas for adults and children. Each of them employs professionals who will help you not just play sports, but will turn ordinary jumping into a real fun game. This is how you learn not only the basics of trampoline jumping technique, but also a number of acrobatic elements. Children will be indescribably delighted with this. Most guests return here more than once.
Another feature of the center is the opportunity to organize a fun celebration on its territory. If your child has a birthday during the trip, you can give him an unusual sports holiday. Such a party will appeal not only to children, but also to adults, it will give a lot of impressions and surprise your guests.
Ancient city
Panticapaeum
Of course, when talking about a vacation in the south of the country, it is difficult to compare two components - attractions and Crimea for children; here you will have to choose what you would like to see.
Modern Kerch is the rebirth of an ancient city called Panticapaeum. Important not only as a historical, but also as an archaeological landmark, it is located at the foot of a mountain with a wonderful sonorous name - Mithridates. At one time, the ruins were part of the Bosporan kingdom of the union of Greek city-polises. This place is imbued with the history of millennia, the change of eras and events. An excursion to this place will appeal not only to history buffs, but also to ordinary tourists.
At the very top of Mithridates you can see the Obelisk of Glory, dedicated to the wars, mostly of the maritime army, that fell as a result of the liberation of the peninsula from 1943 to 1944.

Excursion around Kerch with a visit to Panticapaeum
Ancient settlement of Kitey
At a distance of 40 kilometers from the city, it is located on a cliff by the sea. Dates from the 5th century BC. The ruins were once a real town, surrounded by a rather thick three-meter wall. Its desolation is associated with fresh dehydration of the area.
By the way, if you are planning to go to Yalta or Feodosia, you can stop by here on the way, yes, you will have to make a small detour, but it’s worth it.
Excursion to Yalta
Ancient Myrmekiy
In the middle of the 6th century BC. The Greeks founded the settlement, which reached its greatness during the Bosphorus reign. At the beginning of the last century, a marble sarcophagus was discovered here.
Getting here is not difficult, since Myrmekiy is located within the city. The location and exact address are shown on the map below.
Full tour of Kerch visiting all the main attractions
Ancient Acre or Crimean Atlantis
Most of this ancient city went under the water of the Kerch Strait. Beginning in the mid-20th century, extensive excavations were carried out at the site, with underwater exploration carried out from 1983 to 1985. Several structures were discovered, including towers and defensive walls, as well as a well. Having received a second name - Atlantis, the ruins can still be found at a depth of 4 meters. It’s worth going to the ruins of Atlantis if you’ve planned a visit to the city, and if you’re coming here for Acre, we recommend visiting something more interesting.
You can see the sights of the city of Kerch on the map that we have prepared for our readers.
Ostrich farm "Exotic"
At the ostrich farm, family holidays will be complemented by a real riot of euphoria. Children themselves are very fond of animals, so it will be interesting for them to watch the life of large exotic birds. But not only ostriches will greet guests. There is a small zoo where slender deer and graceful peacocks show off, attracting the glances of young visitors. Many different animals and birds delight kids, especially horses. Children can ride horses under the supervision of instructors, and adults can go on a horseback ride.
Fortresses
Yeni-Kale
The fortress is a Turkish creation and is located on the seashore. At the entrance to the gate on the left side there is an information stand, which, very usefully, will complement the overview of this place. At the last time of our visit, even access to the stand was blocked, but this did not stop us from strolling around its walls.
Kerch
The defensive fort has an interesting history, which you can learn from the 1.5 hour tour. Of course, you can explore the impressive museum grounds on your own.
If you decide to get to the fortress by car using a navigator, then do not use the route along the sea. Currently it leads to a dead end because it is blocked by the exit from the Crimean bridge.
29th Battery of the Black Sea Fleet
Near the city there is another location that is of interest to tourists - this is a battery from the times of the Great Patriotic War. Its foundation dates back to 31 years of the last century, whose tasks were to exercise control over the coastal territories of the Kerch and Taman sectors. At one time, thanks to the work of this point, the invaders were deterred. When visiting, you can see four artillery platforms, with adjacent premises. The total length of the structures is about 250 meters.
Amusement park
Not far from the Marine Station there is a regular amusement park. It's always fun here; children enjoy the various carousels and swings. In the clearing of fairy tales, cartoon characters await kids; children can ride velomobiles and children's cars. Bungee jumps and trampolines will give them a lot of fun. Labyrinths and prize-winning attractions, a Ferris wheel and other entertainment facilities await guests from 9 am. Visitors of all ages can enjoy the mind-blowing and mesmerizing experience in the park until nine in the evening. Tickets are inexpensive, but there is an ocean of emotions.
Where to go with children
In addition to the usual walking tours around the city and visiting the Amusement Park
If you have children, it is advisable to visit
Trampoline
(Kirova St., 41 B), where you can spend several hours quite happily.
Or you can go to the Exotic ostrich farm
, where, in addition to meeting these exotic birds, you can also see spotted deer and horses, which you can even ride accompanied by an instructor.
Fun communication at the ostrich farm
At the House of Culture named after. A. Pushkin
(Lenina St., 46) there is a Kerch
puppet theater
, where you can also take young children.
Also children's play centers
there are in large shopping centers, and children's playgrounds with a minimum set of slides and swings can be found quite often, especially in park and beach areas.
Beach area "Cha Cha Turtles"
And if you have already seen everything you could, got acquainted with the history of Kerch, explored all the beaches
and visited almost all
the cafes
, then it’s time to start getting acquainted with the equally interesting cities closest to Kerch - Feodosia and Koktebel, which are easy to get to by car or by local buses.

Puppet show
Visiting a cultural center to enjoy a fairy tale performed by dolls with the whole family is a great pleasure. The repertoire here is updated regularly. The performances are enjoyed not only by children, but also by adults. Give your children maximum joy and happiness.
Disney park
The shopping center has a magnificent amusement park for children. Trampolines and inflatable houses, swings and carousels will keep kids busy for a long time. Joy will splash in the eyes of the little ones, because experienced animators work here who come up with a lot of interesting performances and games. If you want to give your child a special birthday party, you can arrange it here. There are separate rooms for such events. Children can relax and gain strength in a special children's cafe.
At the end of the walk
Before you go to inspect the last object in Kerch, you need to rest and have a good snack. There are not many restaurants and cafes in the Tsarsky Kurgan area. Pizzeria Italia is especially loved by guests and townspeople, which can be visited by family or a large group. Order pizza here, drink juice, beer or wine, and remember with a kind word the Italians who lived in Kerch and did a lot for it.
The final point on a traveler’s one-day map of Kerch will be the Yeni-Kale fort, built by the Ottomans at the turn of the 17th-18th centuries. near the Kerch Strait. Not far from the place where the notorious Crimean Bridge appeared, connecting the peninsula with the “mainland”. Unfortunately, the fortification structure has been partially preserved; fragments of the fortress walls, a semi-bastion and a gate have survived.
This is the excursion plan for 1 day in Kerch that we have outlined for you. Now you will figure out what to watch in such a short period of time and how to do it most competently so as not to miss anything. Or maybe there is something else you would like to include in our list? Write your comments and reviews!

Cinema "Ukraine"
We have long been unaccustomed to film shows in large halls. This entertainment gets sidetracked in the bustle of big cities; we don’t notice these wonderful moments that we can give to ourselves and our loved ones. The cinema can now be called a full-fledged entertainment center, and the show schedule can be found on the official website of the cinema. This cinema usually shows films for adult audiences.
On the territory of the cinema you can book a party for adults and children, but this place is not ideal for relaxing with children.

Night clubs
Lovers of night parties are looking for places where they can have fun with music. The most famous clubs among nightlife lovers are:
- Night club "Chery". Here is a place where gourmets can please themselves with the highest level of service and exquisite menu. The interior and style of the establishment are beyond praise. In addition, the bar offers a huge selection of alcoholic drinks, among which the lion's share is occupied by delicious cocktails.

What to admire in Feodosia
Having walked around Kerch and its surroundings to your heart’s content, you can hit the road along the E97 highway along Gornostaevka, Leninsky, Krasnogorka, Lugovoy and Batalny. Then you can turn to the coast through the village of Primorsky and, having passed Beregovoye, end up in Feodosia. The total distance between the cities is just over 100 km, and by car, with good luck and the absence of traffic jams and problems on the road, it can be covered in about an hour.
Finally, having reached the city, you can walk along the beach, stretch your legs, swim, have a snack and drink something cool, and then start exploring the sights.
- The first of them is the Church of St. Catherine, located near the Aivazovskaya station. At one time, this temple served as a kind of center for the village of railway workers. The church was built at the end of the 19th century in honor of Catherine II, under whom Crimea became part of the Russian Empire. This church differs from many traditional buildings in its elegant appearance with many decorative elements.
- Who among us in childhood did not read Alexander Green’s novel “Scarlet Sails”? The girls dreamed of becoming the romantic and faithful Assol, the boys associated themselves with the brave Gray. But it was Feodosia, the city so beloved by Green, the views of the sea surface and the surf breaking on the embankment that inspired the writer to create the novel. The Alexander Green House Museum is a must-see for all fans of his work.
- The Aivazovsky National Art Gallery is a place where you can see the sea in all its manifestations: from a calm, serene surface to raging waves that seem to be about to deafen with their roar. In the second building of the museum - in the house of the artist's sister - his paintings on biblical and mythological subjects, as well as paintings by foreign marine painters, are located. If you make a large sponsorship contribution to the museum's cash desk, you can be one of those rare people who have seen the never-exhibited painting “On the Death of Alexander III.” It is kept in a secret room, where the sun's rays are not allowed.
- The Tower of St. Constantine is located on the territory of the Jubilee Park. It was built by the Genoese in the 13th-14th centuries. Then Theodosia bore the name Kafa. The Genoese set a goal to unite under themselves all the numerous colonies in Crimea, so an impressive garrison was located here, designed to protect the stronghold. The first earthen rampart was replaced by a stone wall and tower defenses, including the Tower of Constantine. Konstantin himself was a controversial person. He killed his wife and children, killed many people, but the ruler was successful and to some extent wise. It was he who built the city of Constantinople on the Black Sea, which is now called Istanbul. That is why the tower covering the city from the sea bears the name of this ruler.
Having admired the heritage of the past, you can jump behind the wheel again and head to Yalta.
Museum of Antiquities
If you love history and culture, you should head to this interesting place. Kerch is a place where different cultures came together; here you can see ancient fine works of art and Scythian treasures. Here you will immerse yourself in the ancient eras of life in the Black Sea region.
We will be glad if our article “10 best entertainment in Kerch” will be useful information for you on vacation.
