Koktebel, Crimea 2022. Beaches, hotels, what to see, food prices

“I heard at night how the waves sang, about Koktebel, about Koktebel...”... More than one verse has been written about this mysterious land; it is sung and idolized by ordinary tourists, poets, and artists. The country of blue peaks, fairy tales, legends - that’s all it is, the resort village of Koktebel.

Myths and facts from the past - history

No one can say when Koktebel was “born”. It is believed that back in the first century BC, ancient people lived here, then they were replaced by various tribes. After the Pecheneg raid, life in this place froze for a century.

In the 20th century, the territory became the property of the scientist E. A. Junge. It was he who began to develop Koktebel, but the meager financial situation did not allow him to turn his ideas into reality.

After the death of the academician, the lands in this part of Crimea began to “sell like hot cakes.” Dachas were built, poets and artists bought houses. One of them was M. Voloshin. Here he was inspired and famous works were born. The poet fell in love with Koktebel with all his heart.

Today, on the territory of the village there is a house-museum of Voloshin, which is unique not only for the preserved work of the artist and poet, but also because it was visited at different times by A. Green, Bulgakov and other gurus of literature and art.

Currently, Koktebel is a popular resort village where you can not only relax comfortably, but also improve your health.

Green was gone

Green Beach was located closest to the central embankment . Once upon a time it was the best place for nightly youth hangouts, then the nightclub of the same name closed, but the name remained.

This is what it all once looked like:

The beach strip here is not wide, the surface is pebbles and concrete in places. There are even people who bask in peace and quiet.

In some places it is really dirty: garbage, protruding reinforcement, fragments of concrete slabs. Until a new business plan for this place is invented, I would not recommend swimming here. Go to the “White Griffin” or already to the Embankment.

There are always a lot of people here and a lot of entertainment, the infrastructure is well developed.

The series of concrete beaches continues with Maltese . It is very popular during the hot season, since the infrastructure here is well-established, there is everything for recreation and entertainment, but at the same time there is no such crowd as in the central part of Koktebel.

Previously, this beach was known as "White Griffin" .

In the reviews of vacationers, the Maltese beach is noted as a plus for neatness and cleanliness, the presence of sun loungers, and sanitary areas.

There is also a diving center here, where they will teach you to love the seabed))

Weather and climate of Koktebel

The village has amazing air. Mountains, sea, forests and steppes merged together and formed a healing aroma that even people from other countries come here to breathe. Along with having a great time, a person gets a strengthened immune system.

Koktebel was carefully sheltered from the cold winds by the mountains. And only a barely perceptible breeze is felt after swimming in the sea.

Temperature regime of Koktebel The average temperature in July-August is +23 - + 24 degrees; The average temperature in January-February is +1 - +3 degrees; Water temperature in July - August - + 24 - +25 degrees;

The holiday season begins in May and ends in mid-October.
The nature here is very beautiful. Just the view of the inactive Karadag volcano is worth it! And Cape Chameleon will give you an unforgettable experience. It is worth visiting the Karadag Nature Reserve - a natural pride, the calling card of Koktebel.

Is there a sewer?

It’s worth relaxing and having fun, of course, on the central embankment, but it’s better to swim and take sea baths away from built-up areas.

As mentioned above, the sewage drains do not come out so far from the shore; during hot periods and with a large influx of tourists, you can catch an infection just once or twice.

Local authorities say that everything will be all right by 2022. What should you do before that?

Be vigilant and nothing can ruin your holiday!

Despite the modest territory, the village offers its guests a lot of entertainment. It also has its own attractions. The main ones are the Karadag Nature Reserve and the Golden Gate rock.

You must know Karadag Volcano for more than 140 million years; The volcano hides real treasures and precious stones, such as amethyst, jasper; The reserve contains more than 15 species of animals, almost 100 fish listed in the Red Book; The excursion includes the opportunity to swim close to the Golden Gate Rock. Little travelers will have something to see. Everything is nearby, what is called “in one bottle.”

For example:

  1. Aquapark. What a score! This is the largest water park in Crimea. Large and small pools, about 20 slides, high and not very high, a spa for adults, a jacuzzi. Cafes and restaurants. Leisure

There is an excursion bureau in Koktebel, which offers, among other things, active, extreme recreation. Particularly popular among tourists is hang gliding, as well as a diving center. In addition, you can make a parachute jump together, go paragliding, go on a jeep tour, or ride horses in the surrounding area.

Let's sum it up

The beaches of Koktebel are still designed for an unpretentious client, since negligence and neglect are felt everywhere.

Tourists make allowances for beautiful landscapes, walks in the surrounding area, affordable prices for accommodation, festivals and youth parties, and a certain freedom of morals.

All the beaches are on the same line, you can get there on foot or by car without any problems, but in the central part of Koktebel you still have to look for a parking space , and the locals get very angry if you park somewhere near their windows.

After all, if this isn’t a place, it’s a “hotel” and all the residents are laying claim to 3 sq.m. by the fence.

And to get to the wild beaches you will have to walk along a bumpy dirt road, which is best explored during the day so as not to get into trouble at night.

Koktebel beaches - full review

There are a huge number of places where you can freely swim in the sea, sunbathe and simply relax in the resort village. There are even special children's beaches, however, they are paid. All others require free entry.

Do you want privacy and tranquility? Then you're off to the wild beach. They are located near the Kara-Dag volcano. You can’t just get here, except by boat or speedboat. But it is quiet here, and the water is the cleanest.

In addition, you can choose the following beaches:

  • "Sunrise";
  • "Surf";
  • "Old Fortress";
  • "Blue Bay";
  • Central Beach;

All of them are pebble, with good access to the water and infrastructure. Standard set: sun loungers, umbrellas, shower, toilet, water activities at your service. However, remember that all entertainment is paid. And public beaches are always crowded.

Avoid or stay?

Closer to Junge Hill, behind the stream, which seems to be the border, there is an official nudist beach. It is landscaped to a minimum - several awnings, rental of umbrellas and sunbeds, changing cabins (for some reason).

The beach strip here is wide, there are sandy and pebble areas, small hills with sparse vegetation. In parallel, without any fences, there is a street with residential areas, recreation centers, and hotels.

Naturists and nudists themselves monitor the cleanliness of their area. The nearby cafes also look after the beach.

By the way, according to reviews, there is a teahouse on the beach, where you can arrange gatherings in what your mother gave birth to (usually, to visit a cafe, nudists are asked to put on at least some clothes).

How to get to Koktebel?

Getting to Koktebel from the airport of the capital of Crimea is very easy. For example, on a direct bus. The bus leaves at half past three and 18:40. Another option: from the Kurortnaya bus station, which is in Simferopol itself. From here buses go to Koktebel every hour. As a last resort, you can get to Feodosia, and from there it’s a stone’s throw to the village. Transport runs smoothly. A taxi will take you to your destination for about 2,000 thousand rubles.

Where to eat in Koktebel. Prices for food in cafes

There are many cafes on the embankment and almost all of them are in the mid-price category. There are a couple of restaurants where everything is 2 times more expensive, but you can immediately see them from the empty hall. The best places to eat on a budget are in canteens.

We had lunch at several restaurants on the shore. Our average bill in Crimea is 1000-1200 rubles for two for 2 dishes with two side dishes and drinks.

Based on our experience, we can recommend the Seventh Heaven cafe. On the first day we had lunch there. The second floor has an amazing view. The dishes arrived quickly and the food was delicious. And the prices are the same as everywhere else. Our order: shish kebab, fish frying pan, mashed potatoes, country-style potatoes, beer, juice. Bill: 1200 rub. A point on the map

We also ate at the Bogdan cafe several times. Fast service, beautiful presentation, delicious dishes, sea view, reasonable prices. A point on the map. Here is a photo of the menu and what we ordered:
