Beaches of Sukko
All beaches in Sukko and its surroundings are pebbly, and the pebbles are quite large, so going into the water with bare feet is unpleasant and even painful. It is better to buy rubber slippers; they are sold here at every turn. The entrance to the sea is steep, almost immediately (already at a distance of 3 m from the shore) it becomes deep, but the water is clean and does not bloom.
Due to the sharp change in depth, you need to closely monitor children and not let them swim alone.
The central beach is small, only 600 m long. It is equipped with sun loungers (rent for an additional fee), awnings, toilets and showers. Those who are still afraid of scuba diving can use the usual snorkel and mask: the water in the sea is clear, everything is visible to the very bottom. For beginners, the dive costs 2000-2500 RUB; those who already have a certificate and experience are offered discounts.
A little history
Translated from Adyghe, the name “Sukko” means “valley of water”. In ancient times, the territory of the modern village was inhabited by Sindhi tribes. Later, replacing each other, various mountain tribes lived here: Circassians, Circassians, Natukhaevites, who annoyed the Russians with constant predatory raids. This happened until 1869, when Russian troops managed to expel the villains from these lands. After that, this area was given into the hands of invaders only once - during the Second World War. Many years have passed since then, and now Sukko is a famous Russian resort.
What to bring
There are not enough specific souvenirs in the village; it is not easy to find something original. But you can take a closer look at wood products. In the vicinity of Sukko, rare juniper-pistachio forests grow, it is thanks to them that the air here is so healthy. Figures are made from aromatic wood, and pillows and bolsters are filled with shavings from these trees.
The market sells spices, honey, churchkhela and local wines. Most often, tourists buy “Black Doctor”, “Secret Desire”, “Cahors” and homemade wines, which are made here in almost every home. The coastal tents display classic magnets, mugs and other mass-produced souvenirs, but they will not be any different from similar products from other cities.
Cypress Lake
All tourists want to see this place. How can you miss the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of 32 cypress trees? Another important fact is that they are listed in the Red Book. Cypress Grove
This is truly a unique place and a must visit. Swamp cypresses, which have found their place in the center of the lake, look very exotic. Unfortunately, the history of their origin in the resort corner of Anapa has not been precisely established. Some believe that they were brought here by a wealthy family, while others call their appearance in this place a scientific experiment. Whatever it is, be sure to visit the cypress grove. You can buy a tour there from distributors or go on your own.
