At the foot of the hill there is an Orthodox chapel of St. Alexander Nevsky with panoramic views of the city. Previously, there was a cross erected by the Decembrist Mikhail Lunin and a monument in honor of the stay of Tsarevich Nicholas, the future emperor of the Russian Empire, in Chita. This temple is older than the city itself and is the oldest building on its territory. The wooden church was built in 1776, about fifty years before the Decembrists appeared here.
