Achinsk (Krasnoyarsk Territory) - sights and history of the city

The city is located in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 160 km west of Krasnoyarsk and is the administrative center of the Achinsk region. This is also the embankment of the Chulim River, which flows through the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tomsk Region and the Republic of Khakassia. As of 2022, the population of Achinsk is more than 105,000 people. The village ranks third in the region in terms of population after Krasnoyarsk and Norilsk.

Date of foundation of the city of Achinsk:1683.
City population:105,264 people. (2017)
A district of the city:103 km²

History of Achinsk

The official founding date of the city is considered to be 1683. However, Achinsk itself is somewhat older and dates back to 1641 - at that time it was a simple fortress on the Bely Iyus (Chulym) River, with a “population” of only 15 people. It was a garrison of Cossacks who arrived there on the orders of the Tomsk governors. Soldiers from Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk took part in the construction. The name of the village comes from the similar name of the Achinka River, which in turn comes from the name of the Turkic tribe Azhig (Achin Tatars).

The construction of the Ostrog began with the construction of a high rectangular palisade with watchtowers at the corners. One of them was a chapel.

In 1683, the frame of the city was destroyed by fire. Soon after this, the Tomsk governor received a letter from the Tsar with an order to restore the destroyed structure. In 1710, a new wooden fort was built on the right bank of the Achinka River, where it flows into Chulym. Now it houses the Achinsk transitional prison.

Achinsk became a district town in 1782. At that time, it served as one of the transfer points between two large Siberian cities - Tobolsk and Irkutsk.

In 1737, Abram Petrovich Hannibal, a Russian military engineer, governor general and great-grandson of Alexander Pushkin, visited Achinsk.

In 1820, an important event for the further development of Achinsk took place: the authorities drew up a city plan.

In 1822. Achinsk was transferred to the rank of a district city of the Yenisei province. There was active trade with China through the village: goods went by rail to Achinsk, then by water to Tobolsk, and from there by land to Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Soon houses were built for the temporary residence of visiting merchants - something similar to modern hotels.

At the end of the 19th century, a large number of guests from the European part of Russia came to the city. Since then, local industry has begun to develop rapidly.

Population of Achinsk

According to the results of the population census conducted in Achinsk in 2013, 107,584 thousand people live in this territory. Of course, unofficial indicators differ from these statistics, but only slightly.

Achinsk residents celebrate May 9

In the early 2000s, the mortality rate of the Achinsk population was almost equal to the birth rate, but, unfortunately, today people again began to die more often than to be born. Also, the rapid decrease in the population of Achinsk is associated with the outflow of students and the working population to Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Novosibirsk - more opportunities, more jobs, higher wages. This fact brings particular grief to old-timers, since it has already been proven that since ancient times people have preferred to settle in this extraordinary, amazing place.

Archaeologists who carried out excavations in the areas adjacent to the city came to this conclusion. In the Aydashinskaya cave, evidence was found that back in the Stone Age there were ancient human settlements on the territory of modern Achinsk.

The ethnic composition of the population is overwhelmingly Russian. Armenians, Germans and Ukrainians also live here.

The level of education of Achinsk residents is quite high. There are 17 general education schools in the city alone, there is a music and art school, and there are 8 specialized educational institutions. As for higher educational institutions, they are branches of universities in Krasnoyarsk - such as the Agrarian University, Pedagogical University, Modern Humanitarian Academy and others - in total there are six institutions of higher professional education.

Educated and especially hardworking Achinsk residents occupy high positions either in the city itself, or, through transfer, leave to head enterprises in neighboring regions.

The youth of the city, for the most part, are educated, cultured people. The city does not know the attacks and lawlessness of youth movements, because they simply do not exist. Of course, there are individuals who carry negativity, but there are not many of them, and they are found mainly in their favorite places - in the station neighborhoods, in the area of Lev Tolstoy and 9 May streets. These people grew up in dysfunctional families, which, like in all cities, exist in Achinsk.

Young people do not want to work at local factories, striving for a better life, they leave for Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Tomsk. Due to the migration of young people, the average age of local industry workers is rising. Now this figure has already exceeded 46 years.

Achinsk has many sports facilities - stadiums, swimming pools, sports grounds, gyms, etc. Which has a beneficial effect on the health of the population and on the organization of leisure time for schoolchildren and youth.

The city has a beautiful temple - the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. Many residents of Achinsk are believers. During holiday services, the temple is crowded - many come to pray. Moreover, the age category is diverse - from children to people who have long passed retirement age.

Sights of the city of Achinsk

If you decide to visit Krasnoyarsk for tourism, personal or business purposes, you should pay attention to Achinsk, a city located 163 kilometers from Krasnoyarsk. The journey by car takes only 1.5 hours. You can rent an inexpensive apartment for a few days and explore the area well, and it will pay off!

The ancestors of modern people lived on this land many thousands of years before our era. This makes the city even more interesting from a historical and archaeological point of view, and traveling to these sites is one of the most exciting things you can do. The famous Arga nature reserve, located on the territory of the Achinsky, Bogotolsky and Nazarovsky districts, deserves special attention.

Another equally interesting pastime is a walk through the streets of the city, looking at modern buildings and structures with a centuries-old history. Many of them are close to destruction, but the spirit of antiquity lives in them to this day. Among the ancient buildings, two merchant mansions deserve special attention, one of which belongs to the merchant Borodavkin, and the other to the merchant Kruglikhin.

During your walk, you can visit Victory Park, where there is a monument dedicated to patriots. The sculpture represents a military aircraft ready to take to the skies to fight enemy forces. In summer, densely planted trees provide cool shade, and in autumn the same vegetation provides shelter from the cold wind.

One of the most striking monuments is the Cathedral of Our Lady of Kazan, built in the 1830s. Its rich architecture reflects the Old Russian style, characterized by a combination of white and blue colors in the exterior of the building.

At the highest point of the city there is a single-domed white stone church dedicated to St. Daniel of Achinsk.

To experience the fruits of acting, visit your local drama theater.

You can take a break from the bustle of the city on the banks of the Chulym River in Siberia, where you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding area.

Banks of the Chulym River

Not far from the village there is the famous Aydashinskaya cave. It is believed that it served as a sanctuary for ancient people. Various religious ceremonies were held there. Here the inhabitants worshiped the gods and spirits of their ancestors.

Districts and real estate of Achinsk

There is no division into districts, as such, in Achinsk, since not many residents live on the territory. The private sector is mainly present, which makes up the majority of Achinsk. The remaining buildings are five-story blocks and brick houses, usually three floors. The districts have only unofficial names, derived from the important infrastructure located nearby. This brings convenience to both the residents of Achinsk and those who come to the city on business or to visit; it becomes easier to find the right building or street. So, for example, the territory adjacent to the bus station and railway station is called the station microdistrict, the construction site is the area near which there is a cement plant (popularly called a construction plant), the area of the largest market in Achinsk is called Privoz.

The station microdistrict (Privokzalnaya St., Frunze St., Shkolnaya St. and others) is the noisiest area of the city, because every day there is a large flow of passengers, both railway and road transport, street vendors work, loudly advertising their goods. The traders are mainly residents of the station neighborhood. The noise subsides only at midnight, and already at seven o’clock in the morning everything starts anew. Due to the incessant exhaust fumes from buses and cars, the greenery in the area is limp, the trees grow slowly, even the flowers seem to have less vibrant colors.

The houses in the station microdistrict are five-story block buildings. According to the situation in this area, housing prices here are lower than in all other areas of the city.

Delivery area (Kalinina St., Lebedenko St., 9 January St.). this area due to the fact that next to the market territory there is a landfill where sellers dispose of rotten vegetables and fruits. Residents of nearby houses suffer from the terrible smell spreading from this landfill.

Another major problem in this area is the hordes of rats living in the market dump. And, as you know, rats are carriers of dangerous diseases. Of course, sanitary and hygiene services are trying to fight rodents, but it is impossible to completely eradicate the problem. The importation area mainly consists of the private sector. Housing prices are significantly lower than for comfortable apartments.

Delivery area

Construction area (Stroitelnaya St., Yuzhnaya St., Dekabristov St. and others). The construction area is characterized by very polluted air. Emissions are constantly coming from the plant, clouds of cement dust are constantly forming, which settles on trees, grass, and in windy weather it also spreads through courtyards, settling on playgrounds and cars. Gaseous harmful substances such as nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and carbon dioxide are released into the atmosphere.

Of course, such an environmental situation negatively affects the health of construction site residents. Recently, according to environmentalists, the situation with air pollution in this area has begun to improve - new modern technologies for cleaning flue gases have appeared, dust collectors and filters have been improved. The vast majority of buildings are three-story brick houses and five-story block buildings; there are also private buildings. Prices for purchasing and renting real estate practically coincide with the prices in the Privoz region.

Construction area

Victory Park (Kravchenko St., Zverev St., Lapenkova Avenue and others). Victory Park is considered to be an elite area of the city, relatively clean in terms of ecology. This is primarily due to the fact that this area is surrounded by very beautiful alleys with many green spaces. The air in this place is almost clean. Due to the planted trees, the wind does not blow. Victory Park is ideal for relaxing in the fresh, non-polluted air, and is indispensable for walks with children. Living in the park area is the dream of almost every Achinsk resident. Prices for purchasing housing and renting real estate here are the highest in the city.

The city center is a triangle from the intersection of three streets: Lenin, Mira and Vaturina. Despite the prestige of the area (many municipal and administrative institutions are concentrated in the center), not everyone wants to settle there, as many are annoyed by the noise from the roads, again, exhaust fumes from cars and dust.

Achinsk city center

The city center and Victory Park are considered elite areas, and, accordingly, prices for apartments here are higher compared to other areas. So, for example, a one-room apartment in the center costs on average one million three hundred thousand rubles, and at a construction site you can buy a one-room apartment for eight hundred thousand rubles. Renting a one-room apartment in the center will cost about twelve thousand rubles, while at a construction site you can rent for eight thousand rubles.

Kazan Cathedral

The Kazan Cathedral is the center of the religious life of the city. In 2010, the building turned exactly 100 years old. The Soviet era did not spare monuments of Orthodox culture, and the Kazan Cathedral was the only surviving and still operating Orthodox church in the Achinsk region. During the difficult times of the Great Patriotic War, the building was used as a granary.

Kazan Cathedral

The cathedral received its name shortly after the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was found at the construction site. Repair work made it possible to bring the current appearance of the church to perfection. The external color palette of its walls consists of two colors - white and blue. When looking at the cathedral, a feeling of lightness and peace arises in the soul.

Temple servants are engaged in missionary activities. Thanks to their activities, a temperance brotherhood has been created, the sisterhood is actively developing, an Orthodox elementary school is operating, as well as a Sunday school and a theological seminary.

Enterprises and work of Achinsk

Achinsk , in fact, is an industrial center. The city's economy develops with the help of industry. Refining of petroleum products and non-ferrous metallurgy are first on the list of the most important industries for the city. Petroleum products are handled by the Achinsk Oil Refinery, the city-forming enterprise of Achinsk. It processes nepheline ore, from which alumina, aluminum hydroxide, soda ash, etc. are obtained. The plant employs 3,750 people, and there are open vacancies.

Achinsk Alumina Refinery

Less significant enterprises also operate: a refinery (currently 820 employees, in the near future the plant management plans to hire another 600 people), DPMK (1,225 employees on staff, there are open vacancies), an aluminum smelter (1,450 employees). people, there are currently no open vacancies), a meat processing plant (870 people work, there are few vacancies), a dairy plant, a confectionery factory, a bakery and others.

There are several factories operating in Achinsk that produce asphalt, brick, wax, beer products, woodworking and electrical repair work.

In the vicinity of the city, coal, manganese, refractory clays, and building stone are mined.

Retail trade has developed rapidly, so now there are many retail outlets in the city - from small pavilions to huge shopping centers, which is convenient in terms of employment for students as part-time workers and people without special education. Low wages are compensated by bonuses, bonuses for conscientious work and quality service. The largest shopping centers: Yubileiny shopping center, Shopping Center, ALPI hypermarket. There are business centers and markets in Achinsk: the New Market of Non-Food Products, the Collective Farm Market, the Eastern Market.

The Trans-Siberian Railway provides jobs for people with a railway education. Airplanes carrying cargo and helicopters arrive at the operating Achinsk airport.

Due to the large number of companies, there are always open vacancies, but more often these are vacancies for specialists. Often young workers who have just graduated from university are sent here for assignment. For really good specialists, professionals in their field, there are enough well-paid jobs. The average salary in Achinsk is 22,500 rubles.

Temple-chapel of the Holy Righteous Daniel of Achinsk

The church with a chapel is located in the largest cemetery in Krasnoyarsk called Badalyk. The main purpose of the Danilovskaya Church is to conduct funeral ceremonies for the dead.

Chapel - Chapel of the Holy Righteous Daniel of Akha

The building is made of brick and consists of several floors. It is topped by a dark green dome with a single onion-shaped helmet and a cross. At each of the four corners of the second floor there is one poppy dome with crosses. The building itself is whitewashed, and in addition to the roof, dark green trim is also present on the domes and drainpipes.

Adjacent to the church is a bell tower with a hipped roof and seven bells.

The building was erected at the turn of the millennium, in 1999-2000. The church was built according to the design of the architect V. Trotsky. Tersky. In November 2001, the church was consecrated.

Daniil Achinsky was born in 1784 in the Poltava province. Participated in the Battle of Borodino. This fact was confirmed some time ago, when the tombstone of Daniil Achinsky, a participant in the Battle of Borodino, was found at a city dump in Yeniseisk. Now it is located in the Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Yenisei. Then Daniil Achinsky refused military service, for which he was punished by exile to Siberia for hard labor. Here he worked at a distillery, and at the end of his exile he settled in Achinsk. Since then he devoted himself to monasticism. After his death, the relics of the righteous elder were placed in the chapel of the Yenisei Iversky Monastery. In 1920, the building was closed, and the relics were put on public display by the authorities. In the meantime, the chapel was demolished. Unfortunately, the whereabouts of the relics remain unknown to this day. Daniil Achinsky was canonized in the Krasnoyarsk and Yenisei diocese in 1999. Address: Krasnoyarsk, Yeniseisky tract, 3/3.

Features of climatic conditions and environmental situation in Achinsk

Achinsk has a sharply continental climate, characterized by cold winters with heavy snowfall . The average annual temperature here is +0.8 ºС, precipitation for the entire year does not exceed 527 mm.

The winter period lasts five months, the average temperature is 18 ºС. There are also very severe winters, when the thermometer does not rise above 35 ºC for several weeks. But “nature has no bad weather” - heavy snowfall pleases the children, an excellent time of year for skiing and skating. The city administration is ensuring the construction of a snow town - an indescribably beautiful sight! The whole city glows with bright lights of garlands.

In March, with the onset of spring, all nature comes to life - the chirping of birds, the ringing of spring drops, the first leaves blooming.

From June to August, summer comes into its own. The temperature during this period of the year is about 30 ºС, there is not much rain. Siberia has magnificent nature, which can be seen even in the city, where modern technology and pristine nature intertwine. Achinsk has a large number of green spaces, a wonderful fountain, and flowers, carefully planted in beautifully decorated flower beds, delight the eye in the courtyards and squares of the city.

Green Achinsk

The beginning of autumn is August. This is the time of prolonged rains, the city seems to be in darkness due to constant clouds. But when the sun appears in the sky, Achinsk is painted in the bright colors of autumn. The average temperature in September is +9 ºС.

Of course, the state of the environment in the city is distressing – quite high rates of air, water and soil pollution. This happens due to harmful emissions from industrial enterprises - the Achinsk Alumina Refinery, the Achinsk Cement Plant, and an oil refining plant. But enterprises are taking measures to purify air, wastewater and waste disposal, trying to improve the current situation.

Achinsk Drama Theater

The City Theater is a relatively young building in Achinsk, “born” about 80 years ago: the date of foundation is April 22, 1935. Initially, the stage existed as the first mobile drama theater serving collective farms, PGR and regional centers. In 1937, the theater received a permanent building on the banks of the Chulym River. The two-story building with a mezzanine was built of brick in a neoclassical architectural style. Soon the theater troupe became independent, and A.K. Brodetsky became its first artistic director. Brodetsky.

Achinsk Drama Theater

In 2013, a children's theater studio was created on the basis of the theater, which continues to operate successfully today.

The creative ensemble enjoys success with the audience and actively performs throughout the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

Old center

It's nice to walk among former merchant shops and other urban antiques. In Achinsk, both the typical wooden private sector and good-quality pre-revolutionary stone houses have been relatively well preserved. There is also a public bathhouse in the old center, built from the bricks of a blown-up church (a cinema was later built on its foundation; it burned down twice).

It is impossible not to mention the Achinsk Drama Theater . The performances there are not the worst and they try to keep up with the times. Recently, Achinsk residents set their sights on rethinking the imperishable classic - they staged the play “Hamlet.NEXT” in the genre of a gothic thriller. Very progressive for a theater from a small town.

In front of him stands a cheerful monument to Sergei Mironovich Kirov . According to urban legend, the head of this monument regularly falls off and rolls into the stormy waters of Chulym. They always put a new head on their shoulders. In the process, Kirov changes in expression and complexion (against the background of his body this is especially noticeable). Now his face is so yellow and he grins so disgustingly that he seems to be in the right place. Harlequin, as is. With a diseased liver (in the theater only mediocrity does not drink).

One can say about old Achinsk: it’s good, but small. Even a tourist who is extremely attentive to architectural details is unlikely to spend more than an hour on the most thorough detour. Now is the time to take the tram.

Achinsk Municipal Local Lore Museum

The building is a two-story red brick mansion that clearly stands out from the rest. The house was built in 1898.

At that time, the building belonged to the merchant Mokrousov, who patronized the museum and contributed to its creation.

During the Civil War, it housed the headquarters of the Red Army. The durability of the building is explained by the fact that egg mortar was used to lay the stone.

Now residents and visitors of the city can admire the magnificent architecture of the building and its unique interior: parquet floors decorated with intricate patterns, ceiling moldings, tiled kitchens, etc.

Achinsk National Historical Museum

The regional museum found a home here only in 1992. The collection of exhibits was collected at the end of the 19th century, and the inspiration for its creation was the local school teacher D.S. Kargopolov, whose name was given to the museum.

Stucco

The highlight of the collection is the antique potyphon, which is one hundred and fifty years old. Nineteen plaques are also attached to it.

Siberian copper coins, military chains, ancient guns and tapestries deserve special attention.

The exhibition dates back to the time of the initial development of Siberia.

However, the most striking and valuable exhibit of the museum is a lunisolar calendar found at a paleontological site in the southern part of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This calendar is the oldest in human history.

Temple, theater, museum

Interesting places in Achinsk make a lasting impression on travelers. It is worth considering at least some of them.

These include, for example, the Temple of the Kazan Mother of God. Divine services of extraordinary beauty are held here every day. There is a Sunday school in the parish church. There is a gymnasium for religious primary school students. Under the patronage of the parish there is a central hospital, a pre-trial detention center and a cadet corps. The cathedral has a temperance organization and sisterhood. They even publish their own newspaper called “Achinsky Blagovestnik”, which goes on sale in an eight-page version every month. The room can be purchased for a purely symbolic amount.

The local drama theater was initially organized as a traveling theater . This happened back in 1935. The theater acquired its premises in the city only in 1937. On the stage you can see productions based on both domestic and foreign classics. It is also recommended to attend a performance based on a contemporary work. Vivid impressions are guaranteed. Probably every resident of the city has been to the theater, but the population is not the smallest in the country - 105,264 people.

The Kargapolov Museum of Local Lore bears this name in memory of its creator. This man made an invaluable contribution to the culture of Achinsk. Initially, the museum was located in the personal home of Kargapolov, who donated his financial resources for its improvement. Only in 2008, the organization moved to a two-story house, which was previously owned by a merchant named Mokrousov.

All decorative elements, furnishings and even stucco on the ceiling have reached modern times from those ancient times. Over the entire period of operation of the museum, original, important exhibits have been collected, allowing you to learn a lot of new things: the history of the city, the people living here, as well as the population of the Krasnoyarsk Territory as a whole. Even residents of the region come here to admire this beauty.

Achinsk Museum and Exhibition Center

It is impossible to imagine the cultural life of the city without a museum and exhibition center. Inside is the studio of the artist P.M. Batanova. Exhibition activities are very active and varied: it includes art exhibitions (painting, sculpture, graphics), as well as commercial exhibitions, for example, stone sculpture fairs.

Various competitions and events are also organized, including a night of museums, the first All-Russian environmental festival for children, free master classes (for example, “Living Forest”, “Still Life”) and so on.

Achinsk Museum and Exhibition Center

Recently, solo exhibitions of local artists and exhibitions of students' graduation works have become very popular.

Achinsk City Palace of Culture

The main direction of work of the municipal budgetary cultural institution is supporting talented children. In total, more than 1,500 people are involved here, so not only young people, but also people of the older generation participate in the cultural life of the institution.

Events organized by the Palace take place not only at the municipal and regional, but also at the federal and international levels. Traditional events include the Marina Ladynina Film Forum, a regional chamber music festival, and performances by artists from the region and Russian pop stars.

The main pride and dignity of the Palace of Culture are its creative teams, whose creativity amazes with its diversity. There is a choreographic group, a folk brass band, a pop dance group, a ballroom dance group, a puppet theater, a vocal group, a veterans' choir, a vocal group and many others.

Performance by the Sovremennik ensemble on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Palace of Culture

The Palace of Culture makes a significant contribution to such holidays in Achinsk as City Day, Farewell to Winter, and Metallurgist Day.

The opening of the palace took place in 1967. However, this event was overshadowed by serious problems in the building's heating system, so the facility had to be urgently closed. A year later, after all the defects were eliminated, the building was reopened. In 1997, the palace received the status of a municipal cultural institution.

In 2012, the only recreation center for the elderly in the region was opened here.

Delicious food and relaxation

There are many establishments in Achinsk where you can have a snack: cafes, bars, canteens and prestigious restaurants. In general, the choice is quite extensive, which is good news. In the Naslazhdeniye cafe, located in the southeast of the village, you can have a great rest and have fun with a close-knit group. Very tasty food, respectful attitude from the staff, and the cost of the dishes is pleasantly surprising.

Many Achinsk residents like the cafe called “Sympatiya”, because the prices here are also quite low. You can try the most magnificent barbecue, all kinds of salads and other high-quality culinary masterpieces. Even the mayor of Achinsk, Ilay Akhmetov, once dined here.

There are also entertainment centers in the city. It is worth paying attention, for example, to “Cedar”: in a conducive environment you can hold a meeting with colleagues, which will certainly bear fruit. A joyful party with friends will take place to the accompaniment of wonderful music. In addition, here you can organize a dinner with your loved one, which will be filled with romance. There is also a nightclub in the city called “RED”, aimed mainly at young people. A good place for those who love to have fun. Among other things, the locality boasts the presence of several saunas and baths.

So, Achinsk is a rather interesting city, although not without certain problems. Be that as it may, it’s worth coming here, you’re unlikely to regret it.

The building of the former girls' gymnasium

The gymnasium was built in 1911. Before that there was another gymnasium there. The building is located in the historical part of the city, at the intersection of two streets - Lenin and Voevoda Tukhachevsky (former Prosvishcheva Street). The two-story brick building has two facades from Lenin Street, and the main entrance is located from Voevoda Tukhachevsky Street.

The building of the former girls' gymnasium

Despite its venerable age, the decor of the building is in good condition. However, the walls on the east side and the facades of the courtyard are damaged, and the roof of the auditorium is completely destroyed (as a result of a fire in 2004).

Currently, the building houses a teacher training college.

House of the merchant Wartkin

The residence is the main house of a large, long-abandoned estate. The building was built at the beginning of the 19th century by Krasnoyarsk merchants. The first floor is made of stone, has an arched shape and generally corresponds to the classical architectural style.

House of the merchant Wartkin

The second floor contrasts sharply with the first and is made very skillfully: a lace ornament with a floral pattern adorns the stripes, openwork wood carvings abundantly cover the balustrade of the front porch. It is worth noting that there has always been a restaurant on the ground floor.

Estate of the merchant Kruglikhin

The house of Mikhail Viktorovich Kruglikhin with a store is located at the intersection of Patushinsky and Lenin streets. The building was built in 1906-1907 by order of the merchant M.V. Kruglikhin. In the 1920s it was removed from private ownership by the state. In 1922, the building was sold to a municipal enterprise, and 10 years later a pharmacy was located on the first floor, and a state bank on the second.

During its existence, the brick building lost a balcony on the north side, one of the doors on the south facade, brick chimneys on the roof, drainpipes and a brick gate.

House of the merchant Kruglikhin

The entrance to the house is decorated with an arch, the windows are variously decorated and vary in size. In addition to the real ones, there are “false” windows on the northern façade and the central axis.

The ground floor of the estate once housed shops. No restoration work was carried out on the architectural monument.

Victory Park

This is a real island of greenery, silence and harmony in the midst of the city bustle and endless bustle. Achinsk Victory Park is a great place for relaxing and walking, including with children. Reconstruction work is currently underway; it is planned to renovate many buildings in the park - and this is about 100,000 square meters! The entrance to the park has already been transformed, parks have been laid out, alleys have been created, lawns have been laid and flower beds have been laid out.

The park has many cozy pavilion-style cafes. Children will be delighted by the exciting variety of attractions. If you want a little more action, there is a basketball court or futsal on a specially designed field.

Vintage MiG-21 airplane

In Victory Park, special attention is paid to the history of the Great Patriotic War: there is the Avenue of Heroes of the Great Patriotic War and a monument to Achinsk patriots.

Grieving Mother (monument to Achinsk soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War). 1983.

City infrastructure

Achinsk is a city with a well-developed infrastructure. There are many educational institutions, cafes, restaurants, hotels, youth clubs, museums, and a drama theater.

The educational process in the city is provided by schools, colleges, technical colleges, and branches of universities. Schools and kindergartens are located evenly along the entire perimeter of the city, within walking distance of each district. In addition to regular comprehensive schools, there are also elite ones, such as Lyceum No. 17. The cost of one academic year in this lyceum is about 30,000 rubles, which not everyone can afford. Higher educational institutions employ professional, competent teachers who systematically undergo advanced training courses. But despite all the advantages of educational institutions, local residents strive to send their children to big cities so that they can receive an education at the main universities.

Trade

Medicine in Achinsk is also quite developed. There are both free public medical institutions and paid clinics. The presence of modern equipment, various diagnostic devices, qualified medical workers ensures high-quality treatment, as well as preventive treatment for various social segments of the population. The appointment booking system has been improved, eliminating the problem of standing in queues. Clinics are distributed throughout the city, so there is no difficulty in “making it by the appointed time.”

There is public transport in Achinsk. Tram tracks are laid from Sverdlov Street to Dzerzhinsky Square. The tram train itself is in poor condition. The tram route is the least popular among the population, but for a certain contingent it is convenient. The Achinsk bus fleet consists of old buses, written off in Tomsk and purchased for Achinsk, that often break down. There are also minibus taxis with yellow checkers in Achinsk. Unfortunately, the plan to launch the trolleybus remained in the plans.

Children are delighted with this public transport

Local residents do not like public transport and by any means (borrowed money, saved) they try to purchase a private car, at least on credit. For the most part, used cars from domestic manufacturers predominate in the city.

Like the rest of Russia, Achinsk is not spared the problem of roads. The condition of the road surface in many areas is terrible. This is due to untimely repairs. Due to the sluggishness of road services, it is not possible to carry out repair work on time, so you can often see the following picture: there is heavy snowfall, and repairmen are laying asphalt on top. What kind of quality can we talk about here?

The entire private sector has running water and gas. But there are also places where there are no public amenities to this day - this is a village across the Mazulka River. There are practically no garbage chutes anywhere, only in houses built at the beginning of the century. There are no elevators even in seven-story buildings, not to mention ordinary five-story buildings. But this problem is already at the development stage.

The amount of utility bills in Achinsk is one of the lowest in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, even in smaller cities - Bogotol, Nazarovo, Borodino - prices for utility bills are higher.

Aydashinskaya cave

In addition to architectural values, the city and its surroundings can boast of natural attractions, one of which is the Aydashinskaya cave, located 10 km from Achinskaya. Objects from the Neolithic, Copper and Bronze Ages were found here.

The cave served as a refuge for local residents. Rituals were held here in honor of distant ancestors, nature spirits and gods. This is confirmed by the religious attributes found in the cave - various jewelry, bronze tablets, animal figurines and arrowheads. All these items were brought to higher powers as offerings.

Aidashi Cave

The existence of this attraction dates back to 1850. Since then, the cave has been subject to frequent looting for a long time, as a result of which most of the historical values were stolen or destroyed. The surviving finds can be seen among the exhibits of the Achinsk Museum of Local Lore.

Small towns from a great height: the most interesting places in Achinsk that are worth visiting

Small towns of the Krasnoyarsk Territory are often perceived as bear corners, where there is nothing to do and no reason to live. “Prospect Mira” decided to refute this stereotype and talk about the amazing places and phenomena that exist there, and at the same time show the city through the eyes of signalmen - from the level of cell towers. Sergei Filinin, a master of cityscapes, and MegaFon’s 4G Internet help us with this, with the help of which we navigated the area and learned more about the sights.

The first city, Achinsk, is a cozy place where you can walk through the Old Center, permeated with the spirit of the late 19th century, visit the drama theater, walk through the parks, snacking on a juicy pasty along the way, and take a tram ride, looking at the sludge maps. It is not for nothing that in 1990 Achinsk was included in the official list of Russian cities that have historical and cultural value of all-Russian significance.

Our guide will be the former editor-in-chief of the Prichulymsky Vestnik Leonid Zolnikov.

Achinsk Paleolithic site

The second natural site of the city is located very close, just 2 kilometers from Achinsk. The age of the settlement is estimated at 20-28 thousand years BC.

Achinsk Paleolithic site

The most striking find in these places is considered to be an ancient calendar, which is a phallic-shaped sculpture covered with an ornament of numerous links and rings. At the International Congress of Archaeologists in Paris, this item was recognized as the most ancient lunar calendar (much older than the ancient Egyptian one). The sculpture contains 279 faces and allows you to determine the annual rotation periods of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury and Venus. Thus, the Achaean settlement had deep knowledge of the movement of cosmic bodies long before the Mayans and ancient Egyptians.

City today

The population of Achinsk cannot be called optimistic. Young people do not want to work at local enterprises, dreaming of high salaries, and move to Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk. This state of affairs contributes to an increase in the average age of employees of Achinsk factories. Today this figure has already exceeded 46 years.

The city has many sports facilities: stadiums, swimming pools, all kinds of playgrounds, fitness clubs and more. This has a positive effect on the physical condition of local residents and on the organization of recreation for students and youth. True, not everyone has enough time for entertainment. The schedule of establishments can be clarified directly on site. At the entrance to the pool you are asked to show a certificate of absence of infectious diseases.

There are two churches in the village. Most of the townspeople are religious. At the same time, the age range is striking - from children to people who retired many years ago. It was even planned to place a religious building on the coat of arms of Achinsk, but the plans did not come to fruition.

Nature reserve "Arga"

The decision to create the Arga State Nature Reserve was made in 1963. Its goal is to preserve unique species of animals and plants listed in the Red Book of the Russian Federation and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The institution ensures that the inhabitants of the reserve feel comfortable and can reproduce freely.

Arga Nature Reserve

It is located on the territory of three districts: Achinsky, Nazarovsky and Bogotolsky. The scale of the reserve is amazing - it includes several forest areas, the Arga mountain range and part of the Chulym River. The entire area occupies 89.9 thousand hectares. Among the rare and endangered species of animals protected in the reserve are the following:
