Between Sirenevy Boulevard and Solnechnaya and Central streets there is another green “oasis”. From 2013 to 2016, this square was put in order: they made pockets for benches, installed lighting, repaired platforms and installed gazebos, and also stretched out a branching network of asphalt paths and paths. There is plenty to roam here: the area of this square alone is two and a half hectares (while the entire forest park occupies an area of almost five hectares!). The place is calm and secluded, with dense thickets of pine and birch trees. However, there is also something for active residents: the park has exercise grounds, as well as a basketball field and a hockey rink.

Trinity Forest is a favorite place because it is “common.” It stretches almost along the entire city, along its western part, and is an attractive place for residents of both the center and the south and north. Here they walk, go on picnics, pick mushrooms, go skiing in winter (there is a sports and recreation center “Lesnaya”) - in a word, there is always someone in the forest. Why? It's all about the paths laid among the dense massif, which, as they say, arose here during the times of the Russian Empire. The site of the battle between Pugachev’s troops and the Tsarist troops
(Krasnogvardeyskaya str., 26)
On May 20, 1774, E.I. Pugachev’s 12,000-strong army with 30 cannons approached the main fortress of the Uyskaya line, Troitskaya, from the south. The fortress was defended by a garrison of 200 dragoons of the Shemshinsky regiment with 6 cannons, led by Commandant Defeyervar. The commandant refused the offer to surrender without a fight. After a short artillery shelling from the steep opposite bank, the fortress was taken by storm on the same day. The rebels burned the wooden fortifications, executed the commandant and some of the officers, and the rank and file joined the rebel army.
After this, Pugachev set up his camp one and a half miles from the fortress on the mountain, which is now called Pugachevskaya. The next day, the troops of Lieutenant General I. A. Delong approached Troitsk, hurrying to the rescue of the garrison. The meeting was unexpected for both sides. The battle lasted 4 hours. In this battle, the Pugachevites lost up to 4 thousand killed and 3 thousand prisoners, lost 28 guns and a convoy. E.I. Pugachev and the 300 Cossacks who remained with him retreated to the Nizhne-Uvel fortress.
Currently, the place where the fortress was located is built up with residential buildings. Only the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (Uysky Cathedral), located a few tens of meters south of the fortress wall, has survived. During the assault on the fortress, it was hit several times by cannonballs and grapeshot, traces of which have survived to this day. Several cannonballs even flew into the altar. Then the rebels “with naked, already bloodied sabers and spears and other fiery weapons, and themselves being bloodied, entered the altar through the royal doors, expelling the archpriest and priests from the throne, and completely plundered this temple.” E. I. Pugachev himself also visited the cathedral.
The archpriest and the priests were banished to the steppe and “were spared from final death and forgiven only for a great request.” The cathedral is the only monument to the events of 1774.
From Krylov to Plevako
Among the famous people who made their mark in Troitsk , Ivan Neplyuev is the founder of the city; a monument to him was erected on the main street next to the Church of Dmitry of Thessaloniki. There is a small park around it, where townspeople walk, take pictures and feed pigeons.
Monument to Neplyuev from a bird's eye view.
The famous lawyer Fyodor Plevako was born in Troitsk , to whom a monument was also unveiled in 2013. There is also a version that the fabulist Ivan Krylov lived here in his infancy. There is no reliable data about this, but archival data allows this version to exist. The monument to Krylov is installed on the pedestrian street named after. Klimov, there are also heroes of his fables, and his name is preserved in the name of one of the streets.
The Soviet poet Boris Ruchyev was born in Troitsk .
In 2022, a monument was erected to Gabdulla Tukay, who lived in Troitsk for a short time and is very revered, especially since almost half of the city’s population are Tatars.
Emelyan Pugachev also appeared in the history of the city, who in 1774 took the fortress by storm. They say that Pugachev buried his treasures on the opposite bank of the river, and many are still trying to find them. The cave on the hillside is called Pugachevskaya; historical reconstruction takes place in its vicinity every year.
