Population of Anapa: size, composition, employment and interesting facts

The small resort town of Anapa, located on the Black Sea coast, is known to almost every resident of the former USSR. This is a famous children's health resort, balneological and climatic resort. The population of Anapa has now grown by more than 20% compared to the Soviet period. This can be explained by a number of reasons, including demographic ones, which, along with other factors, influenced growth.

City for relaxation

Anapa is a city that has existed for several centuries. It is beautiful at any time of the year. For vacationers this place is suitable in all respects:

  • sandy beaches;
  • mild windless climate;
  • cultural and historical monuments.

This is a place of good living and decent income for the local population. Anapa is a fast-growing city. New buildings differ from old ones in that 16-story buildings meet the needs of citizens. The infrastructure allows you to quickly get to your desired place of work or recreation. The population of Anapa today is about 75 thousand people (and continues to grow). Of course, there is a lot of temporary population here - tourists who come to the resort in the summer. The population of Anapa is growing by three thousand people every year.

Hotels in the city provide vacationers with different types of amenities: proximity to the Black Sea coast; inside – swimming pools, playgrounds; bright rooms with everything you need for relaxation; delicious and varied food in restaurants and lobby bars. And most importantly, of course, resort and sanatorium treatment.

Where can you eat delicious food?

The resort has many places where you can eat delicious food and just relax. Trying to attract visitors, surprise them with an unusual idea, an interesting menu, cafes and restaurants in Anapa are trying to keep up with the times. In almost all catering establishments you will now find free internet, and many offer additional entertainment - a cultural program, performances by local and visiting musicians, board games.

Brookwin gastropub is often noted among the best Anapa restaurants. Being an unusual intimate establishment, it accommodates no more than 40 visitors at a time and is located within the walls of an ancient mansion. The interior in the spirit of a saloon of the Wild West of America creates a unique atmosphere, which is complemented by pleasant music playing in the hall. The wide selection of wines includes 62 Russian brands; tastings are held in the pub on Saturdays, which has already become a good tradition. The most frequently ordered meat dishes at Brookwin are simply excellent.

It’s easy to taste Italian and Mediterranean cuisine and pamper yourself with fresh fish and seafood in the La veranda restaurant. Its interiors are pleasing to the eye, as they are made according to the capital’s model with the involvement of a fashion designer. The summer area is a covered, airy white veranda, ideal for a romantic dinner. The spacious interior lounge invites you to relax in comfort with a glass of wine. “Veranda” serves drinks from all regions of the country; foreign producers are also widely represented. The menu, as a rule, consists of original Italian delights, and delivery is available throughout the city.

The Brodsky gastronomic bar is one of the exclusive signature establishments in the city of Anapa. Unusual interior, polite staff who value every client - you want to come back here again and again. Unique flavor combinations distinguish the establishment's gourmet cuisine. The creators of the project put the needs of the guests at the forefront, are attentive to their requests and comments, trying not to stand still, constantly developing, looking for something new.

The best fishing place, and even with a view of the sea, in Anapa remains “Nautilus”. A surprisingly cozy homely atmosphere is created by the warm attitude of the staff, pleasant interior, and live music that always plays in the evenings. You can often hear violins and jazz musicians in the Nautilus. The menu is focused on seafood dishes. With an appetite awakened by the fresh Black Sea breeze, they eat katran fish soup, baked shellfish, red mullet, mullet, and salads with mussels and rapana. Competitions and events are held quite often, including a wine festival.

On Krestyanskaya Street, the bright, unusual building of the Ali Baba teahouse catches your eye. We are talking about a real eastern fortress with round turrets, openwork arches, and paintings. This beauty is combined with a surprisingly modest price tag - the average bill for two people is about a thousand rubles. The dishes are mainly oriental. Taste delicious manti and khinkali, drink aromatic tea, smoke a hookah while lying on a soft, cozy sofa in a specially designated room. The uniform of the staff complements the surroundings: waitresses in wide shalwars rush to serve guests with oriental cordiality.

Hard times for the city

During the Second World War, the city suffered greatly at the hands of the fascist invaders. The population also suffered. Anapa was ruins. Historical monuments were adapted by the Germans as storage areas for rifles (this is how the Heroon crypt became a basement for fascist weapons). The Anapa lighthouse was destroyed during the same military operations. It took residents about twenty years to restore the city's historical values.

The roots of Anapchan are deep in antiquity

And indeed it is! To be convinced of this, just visit Gorgippia, an open-air museum in the very center of Anapa. The excavation covers an area of more than forty hectares. On them, before the eyes of amazed tourists, fragments of cobbled streets, basements of once rich houses, and craft workshops appear. With well-preserved household utensils, amphorae for storing wine, grain and the like.

And in the archaeological museum, of which the Gorgippia excavation is considered a part, there are even more artifacts - weapons in the form of shields, swords, arrows, and so on, armor, sculptures, the same coins that were minted in Gorgippia, which later became Anapa and which today , according to scrupulous research by scientists, two and a half thousand years. By the way, before Gorgippia there was also Sindika - a settlement on the shores of the Sind harbor (today's Small Bay). And this was the fourth century BC. Its inhabitants were engaged in fishing, trade, agriculture, developing crafts, as they did later in Gorgippia, minted coins and even had their own army, actively collaborated with Greek tribes, adopted their culture and traditions. Alas, they were not allowed to live peacefully. Then the warlike raids of the Scythians interfered. The Goths are no less warlike than the Huns. From troubles, local tribes fled to the mountains. The population mixed in the Gothic, Scythian, and Greek colonies, and new ethnic groups formed. The ancestors of the Circassians, Circassians, Zikhs, and Kasags appeared on the territory of modern Anapa. And on the site of the former Sindika, only ruins remained for 900 years. Residents did not want to return to dangerous territories. Only in the 6-9 centuries BC did the Byzantines build a fortress on Bolshoi Utrish. Then, following them, at the beginning of the 14th century, other tribes built the Mapu fortress, and a century later the Ottomans captured all the Genoese colonies, remade Mapu in their own way, giving the name Anapa - from the Circassian “edge of the table”. Then Anapa became a fort. It should be said that the history of Anapa is full of tragic and heroic pages. In the fourteenth century, for example, the Genoese called the city Napa. In addition to them, Jews also lived in it. In the same century, Tamerlane passed through these places with fire and sword, destroying everything, but leaving no military fortifications. Special mention must be made about the Ottomans. The Russians fought with them thirteen times. According to some sources - eleven. Wars took place in the fourteenth and twentieth centuries. The main thing is for control over the Black Sea region and the Caucasus, for the right of navigation in the Black Sea straits. And not only. But also for the rights of Christians within the Ottoman Empire and the right of patronage of Christians by the Russian monarch, for their liberation from Turkish domination and inclusion in the orbit of Russian influence. Yes, there were thirteen Russian-Turkish wars, even eleven, their results are important. And it is that on September 14, 1829, according to the Treaty of Adrianople, Anapa finally became part of the Russian Empire. Russia has firmly strengthened its position on the Caucasian coast of the Black Sea. As a memory of the heroism of the Russian army, the monumental monument “Russian Gate” has been preserved in Anapa, which attracts the attention of thousands and thousands of tourists.

In memory of the battles for the Caucasus

“Russian Gate” is one of the main attractions not only of the resort city, but of the entire Kuban! A monument of military architecture from the times of Turkish rule in the eighteenth century. A slab with the inscription: “Russian Gate 1854” is mounted in its upper part. On the base plate "Fortress Gates are the remains of a Turkish fortress, built in 1783, named by the Russians in honor of the liberation of Anapa from the Turkish yoke in 1828." Inside the gate, where the entrance is not accessible, there is a stele with an order on it “For the Caucasus” and another inscription: “Here lie the ashes of Russian soldiers who fell at the walls of the fortress in 1788-1828.” Tourists and Anapa residents bow their heads before their feat. And the kids love to take pictures in front of the cannons of those times, placed at the “Russian Gate”.

Anapa – resort

For the local population, this city is also an opportunity for decent income. With such a large influx of people, an Employment Center is needed. Anapa is no exception. There are services in the city offering all kinds of vacancies. Such offers can be obtained both on websites and in Centers by personally visiting one of them.

Since the city is a resort area, the need for specialists (especially doctors and service personnel) is very high.

The city itself offers vacationers a place to stay in sanatoriums, hotels, hotels, and hospitals. Even during the Soviet Union, the small town was considered a very highly organized resort.

Both Russians and people from neighboring countries come here to improve their health. There are excellent mineral water springs and healing mud baths. They are useful for diseases of the respiratory tract and musculoskeletal system. Sea air is useful both for pulmonary and bronchial exacerbations, and for the treatment of skin diseases. It is important to know that the greatest benefit occurs when the sun's rays come into contact with the water itself. It is then that a large amount of iodine is released, which is easily absorbed by the human body.

Choosing housing

The choice of housing in Anapa is quite diverse.
From rooms in the private sector, to rooms in luxury boarding houses and five-star hotels. It is better to take care of the issue of choosing housing in advance, so as not to fight off offers from local private owners at the station. If this happens and you have not agreed on a place to stay, it is better to leave your things in the storage room and walk to the city center - the further you are from the station, the more profitable the accommodation is, this rule also works in Anapa.

At the height of the season (this is July - August), the lowest price per person is 350-400 rubles per room. Much depends on the location in relation to the sea and living conditions. You can rent an apartment for daily rent - it will cost from 1200 rubles.

If you want to stay comfortable, there is an option with guest houses. A guest house is a fairly new phenomenon, where you can live almost like at home, the price, accordingly, will be from 450 rubles per person.

Price for a hotel room from 1500 rubles. Such hotels are located 3-10 km from the sea. The closer to the sea, the higher the price.

Hotels and 3-star hotels predominate.

City water parks

All kinds of recreation parks, green areas, and water parks are available for all interested guests and residents of the city. Their numbers are small, but there is something to relax and be surprised by. And the townspeople themselves have something to attract in these holiday islands. The employment of the population of Anapa is largely determined by the resort “destination” of the city. They offer residents employment as restaurateurs, waiters, animators, technical and construction workers, employees responsible for maintaining law and order, etc.

The parks themselves offer water slides for children and adults, swimming pools, cafes and bars. One of the parks, Tick-Tock, is the largest in the European part. And “Olympia” will amaze visitors with the appearance of ancient Greek style in all corners of the water park. Exciting holidays, shows and foam parties will not leave anyone present indifferent.

Infrastructure

The city of Anapa has an excellently developed infrastructure. A huge number of different sanatoriums operate here all year round, there are a lot of recreation centers, boarding houses, hotels - small and large. According to 2010 statistics, about 2.6 million people vacationed in this city. And this made it third on the list of the most visited Russian cities. It is worth noting that two years later the figures almost doubled - more than four million tourists visited Anapa. It should be noted that this city, which is a federal resort, annually welcomes millions of guests and is a major market for industrial and agricultural products of Russian and Kuban producers. Along with the number of visitors, the percentage of the trade industry is also growing. In 2010, the growth was more than 120 percent! Every year the consumer sector increases the budget of this city by more than 400 million Russian rubles!

What can Anapa attract?

Almost like any city, Anapa has its own amazing cultural places:

  • what is noteworthy is that there are Armenian, African, Greek villages;

  • wonderful dinosaur park;
  • you can visit the dolphinarium.

The employment of Anapa's population is also due to the fact that industry is developed in the city. They produce building materials, as well as plastic.
