TOP-26 entertainment in the village of Dolzhanskaya, Krasnodar Territory

TOP-3 - what to see in Dolzhanskaya for tourists

To get acquainted with the village of Dolzhanskaya, travelers visit the most popular attractions that glorified it and became symbols.

Long braid

  • Coordinates on the map: 46.684040, 37.735147.

The Long Spit is a landscape natural monument of the Krasnodar region, formed by shell rock. On the southern side, the spit separates the Taganrog Bay from the Sea of Azov. This place is known for its luxurious shell beaches, deep clear sea, fresh lakes, and a variety of plants and animals.

Dolgaya Spit was recognized as a natural monument of regional significance in 1988. Today, the natural landscape, bird nesting sites and rare plant species are protected. Birds such as the little rook, black-headed gull, sea plover and avocet build nests on the spit and spend the winter. The flora consists of angular clover, chicory, Tatar molokan and barley fire. This is also the only spit in the Yeisk region where branched tamarisk grows.

There is no tourist infrastructure on the spit. Nevertheless, she is popular. This is a great place to surf and kite, swim and sunbathe on a clean beach, take a walk or have a photo shoot.

Mud Lake Swan

  • GPS coordinates: 46.647812, 37.803793.

Mud Lake is located on the coast. It is separated from the sea by a narrow sandy beach. One of the main advantages of Lebediny is that it is located within the village - to get to it, you don’t need to spend several hours on a bus.

The bottom of the reservoir is covered with sulfide-silt mud, which has a unique composition. Due to the increased content of beneficial microelements, they are able to treat many diseases. Doctors recommend them for metabolic disorders, diseases of the spine and joints, skin problems, for restoring bones after injuries and generally improving immunity.

To achieve the desired result, the tourist should apply mud to the problem area and leave for 20 minutes. When dry, the sulfide-silt suspension saturates the skin with organic microelements that reach the tissues of bones and joints and contribute to their restoration.

Mud also has disinfecting and healing properties, thanks to which wounds, scars and fungal diseases are treated. Tourists who have tried treatment with Swan Lake mud note the cosmetic effect - the skin after the procedure is clean, soft, smooth.

Before visiting the lake, tourists should consult a specialist, as there are contraindications.

Ethnographic

  • Address: Kolkhoznaya st., 13A.

The ethnographic center was created in 2022 on the initiative of the Dolzhan Cossack community. In the future, similar attractions will appear in other villages. “Visiting the Ataman” a lot of interesting things await you.

Cossacks in national costumes will teach you how to use a saber and show you combat techniques. The greatest delight is caused by horse riding, in which the Cossacks will demonstrate their national skill in handling a horse and perform complex acrobatic tricks.

At the end of the program, tourists will be invited to taste real Cossack dumplings, Kuban borscht, sweets and tea. The name of the center reflects the welcoming atmosphere that reigns here. “Visiting the Ataman” the tourist will feel at home.

Western air in the north of Kuban

Its location in the north of Kuban is unlikely to have a negative impact on the climatic conditions typical of Yeisk. In addition, being located on the western tip of the peninsula of the same name, the famous village moved somewhat away from the mentioned coordinates. The air temperature will not surprise vacationers too much. The indicators are quite decent, practically in no way inferior to the southern expanses of the Krasnodar Territory. Windy weather does happen, but storms typically occur outside of the holiday season time frame. The same should be noted regarding torrential rains.

  • The air temperature rapidly approaches +25 in early May and remains in the same range until the end of September.
  • Guests of Dolzhanskaya often noted the presence of light fog on the coast, but the sun breaks through it without any problems.
  • During the season it is quite hot here, but the sun is not aggressive.

Stanitsa Dolzhanskaya - what excursions to visit

Excursions to Dolzhanskaya are varied and sometimes surprise with their originality. Regardless of age and preferences, every tourist will find something interesting for themselves.

The estate is one-story, the halls are small, but the exhibition is quite extensive. Currently, the museum has more than 2,500 storage units. The exhibitions are dedicated to Cossack life, the history of the village of Dolzhanskaya, as well as the exploits of fellow countrymen during the Great Patriotic War.

The collection of Cossack weapons and national costumes is of great interest. For an additional fee, tourists will be able to dress in patterned dresses, trousers, Circassian coats, bekeshi, pick up a saber and take pictures in the museum’s courtyard.

The poultry house operates all year round, including during the period of egg laying and the appearance of chicks. The child will be delighted when a parrot hatches before his eyes.

Climate and ecology

Dolzhanskaya Spit is located in the temperate continental climate zone. This location causes hot (almost no precipitation) summers and rather cool winters. The weather in the winter months is changeable. The average temperature ranges between 5–7 ºС below zero.

But the vulnerability of this area from northern winds can cause the mercury to drop to -15 ºС and below. However, sharp warming (up to positive levels) brought by Mediterranean air masses is also not uncommon here.

Fogs and cold winds greatly increase the feeling of cold. In addition, December, February and March, according to synoptic observations, are considered the windiest months.

Dolzhanskaya Spit (Sea of Azov) has a warm climate, which attracts many tourists.

An unpleasant feature of the cold season is the large number of cloudy days:

  • in December there are about 24 of them;
  • in January – 26;
  • in February - until 22.

Precipitation is low:

  • on average 38 mm in December, February;
  • a little more than 50 mm falls in January.

The winter period is characterized by precipitation not only in the form of snow (snow cover usually does not last long), but also rain.

In spring, as it should be in the off-season, the temperature is unstable, characterized by frosts and thaws.

The average air temperature is within the following limits:

  • March – 5–5.3º Celsius;
  • April – 10–11º;
  • May – 17–18º above zero.

By the end of May, the water warms up to +18º, which already allows the beach season to begin. With the onset of summer comes heat. If the average June temperature is 23º, then 30º heat is more common in July and August. During this period, the water warms up to its maximum: 23–26º.

The Dolzhanskaya Spit (Sea of Azov) can provide rest (in particular, the swimming season) until mid-September, since during this period the air temperature is compared with the water temperature and approaches 20º Celsius, which is quite acceptable for relaxing on the seashore.

The remaining autumn months cannot be called gentle: in November the air temperature drops to 6–7º Celsius, the winds become stronger, and the number of sunny days decreases to 12. The Sea of Azov in the area of the Dolzhanskaya Spit generally provides climatic conditions quite suitable for recreation.

To this should be added one more important point: the Dolgaya Spit is located in an ecologically clean area (there are no industrial enterprises that pollute the environment), there are dense artificial pine plantations and therapeutic mud. And the combination of sea and forest-steppe zones makes the air unique for healing.

Unusual architecture of the village

The village of Dolzhanskaya was founded in the 19th century. Some buildings have been preserved from those distant times and are in harmony with modern monumental structures.

Church in the name of the Holy Life-Giving Trinity

  • Address: per. Sovetov, 31A.

The first Holy Trinity Church was built in the first quarter of the 19th century. It was a wooden building on a cold stone foundation. The church was demolished and rebuilt in stone in 1877.

At the beginning of the 20th century, a brick prayer house was erected on the territory of the temple in honor of the Holy Great Martyr Catherine. In 1934, the temple was dismantled, and a guard house was located in the prayer house. The building was never repaired, and by the time the territory was returned to the parishioners, it was no longer possible to restore it. Thus, the last element of the historical complex disappeared.

Construction of the new Holy Trinity Church started in 2014. Architect A.S. Tutunov built a magnificent brick building in the eclectic style. The temple has a cross at the base. The main building is decorated with a risalit with a triangular gable and turrets. The harmonious completion is a light six, covered with an emerald tent with a golden crown. The two-tier bell tower is made in the same style.

Currently, the Holy Trinity Church is operational. This is the only church in the village and its surroundings, which makes it the main religious center.

Lighthouse on Dolgaya Spit

Museum-Estate “Cossack Yard”

  • Address: st. Frunze, 8.

“Cossack Yard” is a small entertainment complex, on the territory of which the traditional buildings of a Cossack village have been recreated. The main attractions are the Cossack huts, built of sandstone and covered with thatched roofs.

In addition, there are wooden gazebos and summer cafes where tourists will be treated to national cuisine. The attention of visitors is attracted by a wooden tower, which serves as an example of a Cossack guard post. Everyone wants to climb on it, but this can be dangerous, as a sign nailed to the pole warns.

For children, the museum has a playground with carousels, sandboxes and figures of characters from Kuban fairy tales. Other entertainment includes performances by animators in traditional costumes, as well as horseback riding in the courtyard.

Monuments and sculptures in Dolzhanskaya

Memorial and sculptural compositions reflect the unique features of Dolzhanskaya culture, as well as its history.

Mass grave of participants of the Civil War

  • Address: Pervomaisky lane.

In 1918, Soviet power was established in Dolzhanskaya, however, counter-revolutionaries continued to attack the village. To put an end to the whites, the Dolzhan Cossack Daniil Aksyuta formed a revolutionary battalion, the participants of which were veterans, non-residents, Cossacks and poor residents of the village.

In the summer of the same year, the Red troops left Yeisk. Half of Aksyuta’s battalion went to the front with them. At this time, the White Guards attacked the rest of the battalion and brutally dealt with its members. Daniil Aksyuta was subjected to brutal torture, after which he was put in a punishment cell, where he was beaten to death.

The village was liberated from the whites in the spring of 1920. During the entire period of White Guard terror, 12 people died in Dolzhanskaya. They were all buried in a mass grave. In 1955, a stone obelisk topped with a red star was erected at the burial site. Later the monument was updated. Today it is a three-stage obelisk, decorated with a sphere with a red star. Commemorative plaques are placed on the lower step.

Monument to Sturgeon

  • Address: st. Chapaeva, 14/44.

A bronze sculpture of a sturgeon appeared in Dolzhanskaya in 2016 and immediately became the main “feature” of the village, next to which every tourist must take a photo. The king fish is made skillfully and subtly: every comb, thin antennae and even pupils are visible. The pedestal for the sturgeon is an irregularly shaped stone, which makes the composition even more natural.

The author of the project was Gennady Belyaevsky. During his work, he visited the sturgeon and trout farm many times, talked with fishermen and read online articles about sturgeon in order to display the beauty of this fish. A responsible and creative approach gave the desired result - “Sturgeon” is one of Dolzhanskaya’s main decorations.

The role of prey is played by the huntsman, galloping ahead of the hunters. Attached to his costume is a real fox tail, which will be given to the winner as a trophy.

The Cossack costumes that all participants in the hunt wear add spice to this entertainment. In such events, the features of the Cossack spirit are fully manifested: daring, excitement, courage and a pinch of recklessness.
