Basic moments

The coast from Anapa Bay to the Bugaz Spit is considered the best place for a beach holiday, as there are wide sandy beaches here. It is noteworthy that the word “Dzhemete” itself, translated from the Adyghe language, means “golden sand” or “gold placers”. There are never as many people in the resort village as on the Anapa coast, so the sea remains clean throughout the entire holiday season. In Dzhemet there is no such noise as in Anapa, and the air is much cleaner than in the city. In addition, it is very easy to get to Dzhemete from the airport or train station by public transport, and this is very important for parents who come to the sea with small children.

Resort village Dzhemete

The main advantage of the resort is that the buildings are stretched along the seashore, and from any part of the village you can quickly walk to the beach. The road to the coast from Upper Dzhemete takes no more than 10 minutes. There are several sanatoriums and boarding houses in the village, but mini-hotels and guest houses, whose prices are more affordable, are more popular among tourists.

Many outdoor enthusiasts come to Dzhemete. For those who like sea diving, there is a dive center in the resort village. Near the shore you can ride jet skis and catamarans, learn to windsurf and fly with a parachute behind a speedboat. From Dzhemete you can go on boat trips on yachts and fishing. The village has its own modern Tiki-Tak water park, a dolphinarium, a safari park, a penguinarium and an aquarium. In addition, from Dzhemete it’s a stone’s throw from the entertainment of the resort of Anapa.

History of the village of Dzhemete

In 1828, a military fortification was built northwest of Anapa. The Dzhemetinsky garrison defended the city and was responsible for ensuring that food and goods arriving from Taman freely reached the Anapa fortress. The settlement served military functions for more than half a century.

Then the head of the Black Sea district, General D.V. Pilenko, built a house next to the fortifications and began growing grapes on the surrounding dunes. Thanks to him, the traditions of local viticulture were established, and several independent farms appeared in Dzhemet, where they made excellent wine.

The revolution of 1917 and the subsequent Civil War greatly devastated Dzhemete. When peace came, the remaining vineyards and wineries were nationalized. In 1922, the Dzhemete wine-growing state farm and the Anapa Zonal Experimental Station were created in Dzhemete, where new grape varieties were developed. Since the middle of the last century, the suburb of Anapa began to develop as a resort village.

Dzhemete beaches

A strip of magnificent beaches covered with golden sand stretches across the entire village of Dzhemete. It reaches a width of 100-130 meters. Fine quartz sand in places has inclusions of mica and shell rock. The beach strip is separated from the residential areas of Dzhemete by picturesque sand dunes up to 15 meters high. The various forms of sandy hills and their vegetation create the unique landscapes of the resort village. Small children, elderly people and those with musculoskeletal problems find it difficult to walk on pebbles. And walking on soft sand is a pleasure!

Access to the beach through the sand dunes

Boardwalk on Dzhemete Beach

Wide beaches were formed thanks to Kuban. Once upon a time, the river flowed into the Black Sea right here and brought a large amount of sand to the seashore. At the end of the 18th century, the Kuban changed its course, leaving extensive sand strips in the Dzhemete, Vityazevo and Kiziltash estuaries.

On all the beaches of the resort village, the entrance to the sea is very gentle, the seabed is flat and has no holes, potholes or large stones. From year to year, spring storm waves wash up three small rifts near Dzhemete at depths of 0.4 m, 0.7 m and 1.7 m. In shallow water, sea water warms up well. In July and August its temperature can reach +27…+28 °C.

On the coast near Dzhemete, sea breezes are pronounced. During the daytime they blow from sea to land, and at night, on the contrary, from land to sea. Fresh breezes perfectly ventilate the coastal area, preventing the air from stagnating. Thanks to them, vacationers can more easily endure the heat of the day.

Pier

All Dzhemete beaches have the necessary infrastructure for a comfortable stay. Here you can rent sun loungers and parasols, use changing cabins, showers and toilets. During the summer tourist season, many cafes and restaurants open along the embankment, so no one goes hungry.

Shops near the beaches sell souvenirs, swimwear, inflatable rings, mattresses, towels, fins and masks. If such equipment is needed for a short time, it is not worth buying it. In many hotels in Dzhemete, inflatable rings and snorkeling equipment are provided to guests free of charge. In addition, on the beaches of the resort village there are places where you can rent everything you need.

On the beach, which belongs to the Hellas sanatorium, they teach the basics of windsurfing. Experienced instructors from Anapa-Surfing work here.

The area around the piers and boat passages on Dzhemete beaches can be crowded in mid-summer. This happens because vacationers are brought here from the central regions of Anapa from early morning. On weekends, Dzhemete is flooded with residents of the Taman Peninsula, who come to spend time on the sandy strip by the sea. If the beach has become noisy, you should walk a little towards the center of Anapa - there are fewer vacationers there.

Tiki-Tak water park

The growing popularity of the resort village led to the fact that the city authorities of Anapa decided to place attractions and entertainment centers right in Dzhemete. In 2008, a large water park was built at 38 Pionersky Prospekt, near the intersection with Zheleznodorozhnaya Street.

Tiki-Tak water park

Tiki-Tak is considered one of the largest water entertainment centers in Russia. Its displacement exceeds 6 thousand tons. On the territory of the water park there is a spa pool with a jacuzzi of 500 m², a wave pool, a diving pool, a lazy river, a children's playground "Rainy Season", a parking lot, cafes, bars and lockers. Safety in the water park is ensured by experienced instructors.

A complex of 24 water slides guarantees thrill-seekers more than 2 km of turns and descents. They are built by Canadian. People come to Tiki-Tak to experience the power of the sea waves, swim to their heart's content, sunbathe, take part in entertainment programs and fun family rafting. Every year, next to Tiki-Tak, a large exhibition of sand sculptures is held, and vacationers from all over the Black Sea coast come to see it.

The water park is open during the summer season from 10.00 to 20.00. From the city center you can get here by minibuses No. 114, 128 and 134. Children under 110 cm tall can visit Tiki-Tak for free.

Oceanarium, dolphinarium and safari park

In the south-eastern part of Dzhemete, at the intersection of Pionersky Prospekt and Koltsevaya Street (Pionersky Prospekt, 20A), there is a large entertainment complex where all vacationers in Anapa try to come. This place is especially popular among parents with children, especially since children under 5 years old are allowed here for free.

Part of the territory is given over to the famous Nemo Dolphinarium, where spectacular performances take place five times a day. The performers of the show are Black Sea bottlenose dolphins, a sea lion, a walrus and fur seals, with whom you can take a photo after the performance. In addition to the show, there are dolphin therapy sessions and diving with dolphins for people with disabilities.

Nearby there is a penguinarium where Humboldt penguins or Peruvian penguins, brought to Anapa from South America, live. The penguinary is open daily, seven days a week, from 9.00 to 18.00.

To see other animals, you should visit the Balu Safari Park. The island of wildlife created in Dzhemet contains white tigers, lions, leopards, brown and Himalayan bears, donkeys, deer, crocodiles, porcupines, raccoons, noses and other animals and exotic birds. Safari Park welcomes guests seven days a week from 8.00 to 22.00.

For lovers of marine and river fauna, there is an oceanarium in Dzhemete. Large aquariums contain fish from different seas, oceans and freshwater bodies of the world. In the aquarium you can see large sharks, stingrays, funny seahorses and animals of the Black Sea.

Entertainment and attractions

Near the Tiki-Tak water park there is a large complex of attractions called “Sunny Island”, designed for children of all ages. There are various swings, carousels and trampolines here. Visitors to Sunny Island can ride a Ferris wheel, take part in races on a race track, visit a fear room, and also try themselves on roller coasters, Flying Elephants, Jumping Jeeps, Safari Train and Caterpillar rides.

There are no nightclubs or discos in Dzhemet, and for this kind of entertainment you need to go to Anapa or the neighboring resort village of Vityazevo. On the central embankment “Paralia” in Vityazevo, a large open-air area “Zhar” has been opened, where discos, performances by show business stars and incendiary foam parties are held.

Amusement park "Sunny Island"

Dobrodeya Park

In the center of Dzhemete, on the low Boykova Mountain, the Dobrodeya ethnographic park has been opened since 2003 (Peschanaya St., 28). Here, guests of the resort village can get acquainted with the traditions of the Cossacks and Russian folklore. Visitors are shown a spacious Cossack courtyard, treated to Kuban dishes and given the opportunity to ride horses. In “Dobrodeya” there is a fair where master craftsmen work - potters, blacksmiths and furriers, and the folk group “Shumai” also performs. The little ones are greeted in the ethnographic park by the fairy-tale “Kingdom of Berendey” with cheerful animators.

Dzhemete for healing and treatment

The Anapa coast is considered one of the best balneological resorts in the country. The subtropical continental climate, warm sea and ionized sea air allow everyone who comes to Dzhemete to improve their health and gain strength.

Boarding house in Dzhemete

In the resort village there are several sanatoriums that are open all year round. Of course, most holidaymakers come here in the summer, but many vacationers come to Dzhemete in the off-season. This is not surprising, because in spring and autumn the air contains the most sea salts, as well as phytoncides released by coniferous trees.

Local sanatoriums help patients with problems of the cardiovascular system, respiratory system, nervous system, diseases of the skin and subcutaneous fat, gastrointestinal tract and musculoskeletal system. The healing climate of Dzhemete helps to cure gynecological and urological diseases. Ailments recede after sea swimming, sunbathing, mud therapy courses and drinking hydrogen sulfide water “Matsesta Anapa”.

In addition to sanatoriums, health programs in Dzhemete are offered by boarding houses and recreation centers. Many tourists stay in the private sector and, to solve their problems, use the medical facilities of sanatoriums - they consult with doctors, go for procedures and massages.

Excursions

While vacationing in Dzhemet, many people travel to Anapa on their own to see the sights of the famous resort. In the city it is interesting to visit the local history museum, the Gorgippia archaeological museum-reserve and the White Square art gallery. It's nice to stroll along the picturesque Anapa embankment and look into the Bathyscaphe tunnel aquarium.

From Dzhemete they carry bus tours to the African show and the knightly tournament in Sukko, to the Utrish Dolphinarium, the cultural and tourist complex "Russia", to the winery in Sauk-Dere, to Taman, Novorossiysk, the Lotus Valley located in the Temryuk region, as well as to the dolmens and waterfalls on the mountain river Zhane.

Accommodation

Most tourists coming to Dzhemete choose accommodation in the private sector. Holidays in guest houses, mini-hotels and private apartments are not only cheaper - holidaymakers can choose comfortable accommodation and choose any option to suit their needs. There is one more plus. If in Anapa private sector housing is concentrated in the center and on the outskirts of the city, then in Dzhemet it is located on the very shore or at a short distance from the sea.

Very good value for money can be found in guest houses with 10-20 rooms. They are aimed at welcoming parents with children, so in addition to the traditional amenities - air conditioning, refrigerator and TV, they also offer additional services. In the courtyards, as a rule, there are playgrounds for children and small swimming pools.

In addition, almost everywhere in Dzhemet, the owners are ready to provide residents with full board. This is convenient for those who want to devote their entire vacation to relaxation without wasting time and energy standing at the stove. For tourists who want to save money, guest houses have kitchens with everything they need to prepare their own food.

You can purchase the necessary products at the Dzhemetinsky market and in the shops of the resort village. In summer, fresh fruits and vegetables are sold from cars in the aisles along Pionersky Prospekt.

Those who come to the Black Sea coast with their own cars like to stay at the Blue Spruce camping site (21 Pionersky Ave.). This is one of the most picturesque places in Dzhemete. The parking lot and tent camp are located in the shade of tall trees. The campsite has a canteen with three meals a day, where delicious dishes of traditional Kuban cuisine are prepared for guests.

Transport

The main means of transportation around Anapa and its suburbs are minibuses and buses. In Dzhemet they run along Pionersky Avenue. Route taxi No. 114 goes from Vityazevo (Peschany farm) through Dzhemete, Central and Southern markets of Anapa to microdistrict 3B. You can use it, as well as minibus No. 128, to the Anapa bus station and port.

Minibuses start at 7:00 and end at 22:00. Conveniently, the interval between them is small - from 4 to 10 minutes. Minibuses stop anywhere if the driver sees a potential passenger with his hand raised. However, it is better to board them at stops.

Vacationers in Dzhemet are not recommended to take a private taxi on the streets, as taxi drivers charge unreasonably high prices for their services. If you need to take a taxi, it is better to order a car in advance by phone or online.

Many people travel around Dzhemete and its surroundings by bicycle. In the resort village there are rental points for adult and children's bicycles, ATVs and Segways.

How to get there

Anapa airport is located north of Dzhemete, beyond Vityazevo. The resort town's railway station is even closer, just 1.5 km from the sea, next to Upper Dzhemete. Some tourists come to the coast by train, and some arrive by plane. In any case, the journey to the resort village by minibus or bus takes only 5-10 minutes.

Reviews of weather in Dzhemete

The climate of Dzhemete is influenced by the warm Black Sea, fresh winds from the Caucasus Mountains and the dry air of Taman. The low season lasts from mid-autumn to April. According to tourists, good weather for a beach holiday in Dzhemete occurs in late May - early July. A massive influx of tourists occurs in July and August, and the velvet season ends at the end of September - beginning of October.

Air and water temperatures in Dzhemete in high season:

  • June - air temperature +26°С, water temperature +23°С
  • July - air temperature +29°С, water temperature +25°С
  • August - air temperature +30°С, water temperature +26°С
  • September - air temperature +25°C, water temperature +24°C.

Spa treatment

The presence of sanatoriums, water and mud baths is of great importance for many vacationers, since people go to the Black Sea coast not only to relax, but also to receive treatment. We are talking about settlements located next to each other, their medicinal products are almost equivalent - local mud, mineral water, healing air.

Resorts in the Anapa region are indicated for patients with diseases of the respiratory system, nervous and endocrine systems, musculoskeletal system, metabolic disorders, and digestive organs. The number of sanatoriums in the villages is approximately the same. A course of spa treatment, as practice shows, is slightly cheaper in Dzhemetovsky hospitals than in Anapa and Vityazevo. Everyone decides for themselves where it is better to relax - in Dzhemete or Vityazevo.

Reviews about beaches and sea in Dzhemete

The beaches of Dzhemete are some of the best in the south of Russia. The sea is cleaner and there is no such crowd as in Anapa. A wide sandy strip stretches along the Black Sea coast for several kilometers.

According to tourist reviews for 2022, the most visited beaches in Dzhemete are “White”, “Dzhemete”, “Fairy” and “Fairy 2”. They have sun loungers, parasols, toilets, changing areas and a cafe. To make it easier for vacationers to walk on the sand, wooden floorings are laid across the dunes.

The entry into the sea is smooth, the shallow water area is large, so Dzhemete, like other resorts in Anapa, is excellent for families with small children. Sea water is clear. At the bottom you can see small crabs, schools of fish and jellyfish. During storms, the sea becomes cloudy, and in August the water usually blooms and turns green.

Roseanna: “The sand on the beach is clean and pleasant away from the shore, but sometimes there is small debris and crumbs from shells closer to the sea.”

Where is the best place to relax:

  • Anapa, Sochi or Gelendzhik
  • Anapa, Vityazevo or Dzhemete

The beach strip in Dzhemete goes to Anapa (Photo: olympia-anapa.ru)

Why do they love the sandy beaches of Anapa?

And they are loved mainly for their very smooth descent into the water. Moreover, there is a peculiarity: you enter the water, after a few meters an adult is knee-deep, then a couple more steps and again ankle-deep, and then a smooth, gradual decrease. For an adult who knows how to float well, this probably won’t be a plus, but at the resort everyone is usually with children. Many parents who have older children do not even go into the water with their child, but sit nearby and watch their child splash in the shallow water.

A place under the sun

If you are vacationing in a sanatorium/boarding house/hotel, then most likely you will have your own place on the coast. This is a fenced area with sun loungers, umbrellas, and lifeguards. Be sure to inquire about this before booking your accommodation. Of course, when a boarding house has its own beach, this is a huge advantage.

If you are not a guest of the sanatorium and just decided to come to the sea, then you will need to look for a free plot of sand, especially during the season. Many fenced "private" areas have a number of spaces that they rent out. Moreover, the cost can vary greatly depending on the season (from 150 rubles to 300 rubles). It usually already includes a sun lounger and an umbrella. If you don’t need such benefits, you can simply spread a towel on any free area.

Entertainment

During the season, Anapa's Dzhemete beach is literally packed with entertainment. This includes banana rides and jet skis, endless trampoline complexes, playgrounds, inflatable slides, and rope jumping. The cost depends on the season. On average from 300 to 1000 rubles. In my opinion, this stuff is simply too much. This is especially annoying when everyone calls to you, shouting into a bullhorn. But for many adults, this is an opportunity to relax peacefully. Your child is jumping on a trampoline or is on the playground, you are lying and sunbathing.

But! Please note that children under 3 years old are usually only allowed in with an adult, and older children require supervision. During the season when there are a lot of children, such entertainment can simply become dangerous. And in the off-season (before the beginning of June) all this beauty has not yet been installed, so even if you want to entertain the child, there is nowhere in particular. In May, I saw a couple of installed complexes (one trampoline and one slide), but most often they were closed (either cold, or rain, or wind).

By the way, don’t look for the evening promenade in Dzhemet. The embankment in its traditional resort form exists only in Anapa - here a pedestrian zone with cafes, attractions and museums stretches for 5 km along the Black Sea coast.

Color, or our heritage

“Baklava, homemade wine, boiled shrimp” - this is just part of beach life. They will walk past you all the time and offer you something. Many sellers with bullhorns, bags, bags. They walk all day. Don't count on quiet rest and relaxation! In principle, you can buy everything on the coast: food, snacks, cotton candy, wine, beer, children's books, excursions, jewelry. You can take pictures with camels, donkeys, and raccoons.

Reviews of excursions and entertainment in Dzhemete

There are few attractions in the resort itself, but Anapa is very close. While vacationing in Dzhemete with your child, visit the Tiki-Tak water park and the Lion's Head castle, watch a dolphin show, go to the oceanarium, the sturgeon farm and the local history museum.

According to reviews, from Dzhemete tourists enjoy going on excursions to the Rossiya complex, Abrau-Durso, African Village, Dobrodeya Park and the mud volcanoes of Taman. Many were satisfied with sea cruises to the Bolshoi Utrish Nature Reserve.

Popular excursions in Dzhemete (Anapa):

  • Cypress Lake
  • Crimea in 2 days
  • From Anapa to the reserved Utrish

Elena : “I really liked the excursion “Business Cards of Anapa.” We saw the most beautiful views, heard the legends and history of Anapa.”

Anastasia : “The beauty of Lake Abrau-Durso is a wonderful, interesting, eventful excursion. Galina is simply an amazing storyteller, a true professional with an excellent command of a wide variety of information.”

Distance from Dzhemete to Vityazevo

I would like to immediately note that both villages are located on Pionersky Avenue of Anapa and are located within its boundaries, that is, they are, as it were, a continuation of the city. In this case, Dzhemete compares favorably with Vityazevo, which takes longer to get to. In time, the journey from one village to another will take a maximum of 15 minutes.

The distance from Anapa to Dzhemete is five kilometers, and to Vityazevo - eleven. But this issue can be resolved, since buses and minibuses regularly go to both villages. Getting to Anapa will be quite easy. By the way, a boat departs every hour from the pier on Dzhemete beach to Anapa. A few minutes of sea travel will undoubtedly be a pleasure.

Infrastructure

The infrastructure in Vityazevo is quite developed: there are enough shops (grocery and hardware), pharmacies, ATMs, and tour desks. Chain markets like Magnit and Pyaterochka are also present, as are wine shops, where products from Kuban wineries are presented.

In Dzhemet, the infrastructure is simpler, but there are plenty of shops, souvenir shops and outlets with beach accessories. Shopping arcades are concentrated on Pionersky Avenue, and supermarkets, and everything else (pharmacies, bank branches, mobile phone stores, etc.) are within walking distance.

In the shops of Vityazevo and Dzhemete you can buy souvenirs, for example, ceramic crafts, jewelry, wooden figurines, etc., as well as gastronomic gifts - honey, jam, spice sets, etc. For clothes and other goods you will have to go to Anapa, where there are a couple of shopping centers.

For infrastructure, Vityazevo receives 2 points, Dzhemete - 1 point

Sights of the village

Dzhemete is rich in its beauty and its attractiveness. Also, there are places that you must visit during your holiday trip. For example, there is an excursion to the village in the Krasnodar region “Bolshoi Utrish”. There you can watch a wonderful show performed by sea animals.

Fans of active recreation are invited to consider the local Tiki-Tak water park. There are slides for children and adults. For extreme sports fans, there are also a couple of special places in the form of cool attractions.

For vacationers with children, the Sunny Island amusement park will be of interest. A large number of entertainment areas, a Ferris wheel and an ice cream parlor will not leave any family indifferent.

But the most popular attraction in Dzhemete is the dolphinarium. There you can see not only dolphins, but also penguins and various sea creatures. There is also a section with monkeys. But the biggest trump card is the wax room.

If you are tired of sitting by the sea, you can always relax by the pool with sea water. A prerequisite is the presence of a medical certificate, which can be obtained on the spot immediately.

Also, Anapa is not far from the village of Dzhemete, which allows you to see the sights of this city.

Be sure to take Dzhemetin wine for yourself and as gifts for your family. It is famous both in Russia and in France, where it received a high award in an international wine competition.
