You can also get acquainted with the world of animals in the Gelendzhik safari park.
It is located on the slope of the Markhot ridge and covers an area of 150 hectares. About 450 species live here: the Amur tiger, Far Eastern and clouded leopards, African lion, Himalayan and brown bears, black antelope, alpaca, Indian elephant and many others. You can feed the animals in the park, but only with special food that is sold on the territory. You can feed even large and predatory animals through special feeders.
Safari Park in Gelendzhik is the first animal rehabilitation center in the Krasnodar Territory.
The park also has special indoor areas. Here you can see an exhibition of butterflies, a terrarium with snakes, crocodiles and turtles. In addition, there is a Jurassic Park and playgrounds on site that will also interest children. Another attraction of Gelendzhik is the cable car.
Entertainment in the vicinity of Gelendzhik
In addition to the water park, Arkhipo-Osipovka has its own dolphinarium “Theater of Sea Animals” and an Oceanarium, a crocodile farm with crocodiles, snakes and some types of land reptiles and animals, an amusement park with a mini-water park “Coconut Paradise”.
The colorful palm trees of “Coconut Paradise” can be seen from anywhere on the Central Beach in Arkhipo-Osipovka (near the Malibu amusement park). Its territory is small, there are three high-speed slides, a swimming pool with slides, and for kids there is a shallow pool and a playground. But on a hot day, this is enough to have fun by the water.
And in the center of the village there is another water park “Emerald City” with 21 slides for children and 13 slides for adults. For very little ones there are slides in the shape of fairy-tale characters in a shallow pool and a pirate ship.
Before entering the village, guests are greeted by the “House with Deer” made of wild stone on two floors, decorated with more than 50 sculptures of birds, deer, bear and other animals and beasts.
The “Castel font” in Arkhipo-Osipovka awaits lovers of fishing and antiquity. Tourists are offered to visit the “Forest Oasis” with a Russian lodge with a bathhouse, beds, a Russian stove, and taste Russian national dishes.
You can also visit the Museum complex “Mikhailovskoe Fortification” (opened on the site of a defensive structure that was part of the Black Sea Coast Guard system at the end of the 19th century for protection against the highlanders) with the Museum of the History of the Caucasus and the Museum of Bread and Wine.

The Gelendzhik Museum of Local Lore is over 100 years old. It was opened as a natural science museum, since the first collections were archaeological. Now there are exhibits of ancient history (the peoples of Adygea), as well as the Caucasian and Great Patriotic Wars. The institution contains unique collections: antique coins, stone tools of the Acheulean period, memorial objects of the sculptor S.D. Erzya and much more.
The museum has several sites: the city exhibition hall on Ostrovsky Street, as well as the Korolenko Family Estate complex and open-air exhibitions. In summer the museum is open seven days a week, in the off-season - only on weekdays.
Central Park of Culture and Leisure
The first answer to the question of where to go in Gelendzhik with a child is, of course, to the city park on the street. Kirov.
