The small Crimean village of Koktebel is famous not only for its proximity to the sea, but also for a host of remarkable events. A jazz festival is held here annually, and the largest water park in Crimea is located on the territory of the village. Therefore, Koktebel annually becomes a place of attraction for tourists from Moscow and other Russian cities. And you can get to the resort in a variety of ways.

By plane

If you don’t want to spend a lot of time on the road, it’s best to choose the option of flying. True, there are no direct flights between Moscow and Koktebel. However, the nearest airport, located in Simferopol, is only 117 kilometers along the highway, which means it’s still worth considering the option of flying.

You can fly from Moscow to Simferopol on a variety of flights. Flights from Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports operate along a given route. Nordwind flights depart from Sheremetyevo. And from Domodedovo, in addition to Ural Airlines, flights are carried out by Air, RedWings, S7, Nordavia and Globus.

The flight takes from 2 hours 20 minutes to 2 hours 40 minutes depending on the chosen carrier. The cost varies depending on seasonality and the airline's price list. At the beginning of summer, you can fly to Simferopol for 5,000 rubles, and at the height of the season, the flight will cost at least 6,000 rubles. If you buy a ticket in advance, there is a chance of serious savings.

See flight schedules and current prices for air tickets through Aviasales.

In addition, you can get to the Simferopol bus station by public transport, pay 20 rubles, and take one of five buses. Travel time takes approximately 2.5 hours; in 2022, the trip will cost 400 - 500 rubles.

Airport - Koktebel: how to get there

#1. Public transport

On the territory of the Simferopol airport (it is so far the only one in Crimea) there are no problems with transport, since there is a full-fledged bus station “Simferopol Airport”.

Direct buses to Koktebel depart twice a day: at 05-40 and at 18-40. More precisely, only an evening flight goes directly to our village. The morning one goes to Kurortny with a short stop at the Koktebel station. In any case, both flights are non-stop, so if you get a ticket on one of them, you're in luck. Travel time - 2 hours 55 minutes. and 2 hours 59 minutes. respectively.

When will you be unlucky?

If your ticket has a transfer in Feodosia or Stary Krym. At the box office it is now possible to purchase the entire “connecting flight” at once: Airport - Feodosia + Feodosia - Koktebel. Or the same scheme only with Old Crimea. In this case, you take full responsibility for the difficulties of disembarkation/boarding and luggage.

There are not very many such flights - 06-10, 07-55, 11-25, 12-10, 13-15, but still more than direct. But the most unpleasant moment here is the travel time. Due to forced transfers and waiting for departure, it may increase from 3 hours to 5.

#2. Transfer or taxi

The biggest difficulty in Crimea is that there is neither Yandex.Taxi nor Uber. Therefore, the problem with taxis during the season is acute - local carriers are working like the last time, trying to “cut down” the maximum profit. There is no need to count on fixed prices here.

Among the international ones, only Kiwitaxi dared to work in Crimea - this, if you don’t know, is an online service for ordering transfers. Prices start from 2,700 rubles. For a distance of almost 150 km this is adequate. But the more important thing is that by placing an order, even in February, you can be sure that until July-August the cost will remain the same.

Another plus is round-the-clock support (in the event of force majeure, you don’t need to look for the driver or your car, Qiwi will do everything for you) and a meeting with a sign in the arrival hall. But what is most captivating is the ability to order online, without unnecessary calls and other things: the form is easy to fill out, the advance payment is only 20% for booking a car (all 100 are possible, of course, but only 20 are required).

The rest of the amount is transferred to the driver when he is safely delivered to the hotel.

* If you are still determined to use a local taxi, do not pay attention to overly active “private operators”. Go to the order counter at the airport. The prices there are not bad, the only danger is that the cars may be busy during the season.

Beaches

Koktebel... Where is it located? As mentioned above, this settlement is located on the very shore of the Black Sea. Most of its territory is represented by pebble beaches, which attract the attention of tourists. Which ones are considered the best?

According to reviews from vacationers, the beach located on the Maltese coast is considered one of the best places to relax. They note that the infrastructure here is well developed, and it is also possible to rent sun loungers and umbrellas. Moreover, tourists note that the territory of this vacation spot is always clean, and while staying there, you can admire the beauty of the surrounding nature.

Fans of noisy night and daytime recreation can check out the Central Beach. Its territory is also well equipped for tourists to relax. Moreover, there is a beautiful view of the surrounding area, as well as plenty of places for entertainment and active recreation.

Tourists often pay great attention to the beaches, which are assigned to boarding houses and sanatoriums. According to them, the most suitable places for travelers to relax are the beaches of the Primorsky and Blue Bay sanatoriums. If tourists come with children, then it is best for them to go to the beach, which is adjacent to the territory of the Gorny camp - everything on its territory is equipped so that children’s vacation is as comfortable and safe as possible.

A lot of entertainment awaits tourists on the beaches of the city. So, here you can rent kayaks, boats, catamarans. If desired, vacationers can visit sports grounds, play areas for children, attractions, as well as karaoke, cafes and beach restaurants.

By train

At the moment, there is no direct railway connection with the Crimean Peninsula. Therefore, when choosing the train option, you need to take into account the inevitability of transferring to a bus. It is best to do this in Anapa, from where it is another 228 kilometers to Koktebel. Therefore, you need to buy a train ticket on the route Moscow - Anapa. There are 9 flights a day, the fare for which starts from 3,000 rubles. The entire journey takes from 24 to 36 hours. Quiet Bay

Tourists interested in what can be seen in Koktebel besides Kara-Dag are recommended to pay attention to Quiet Bay, which is located just beyond Cape Chameleon.

By personal transport

When going to Koktebel by personal transport, you need to prepare for a 20-hour journey along the M-4, E-115 highways, the Crimean Bridge and Tavrida. In this case, gasoline will cost at least 5,600 rubles.

You can get from Moscow to Koktebel without transfers only by bus. The option with a flight from the Shchelkovskaya metro station looks the most attractive due to the relatively short travel time and fairly low cost. But the fastest way to get to Koktebel is by plane, with a transfer to a bus in Simferopol.

Sometimes ready-made tours are cheaper than travel and accommodation. Compare prices from leading Travelat suppliers, Onlinetours and Level.Travel. The services contain offers from all tour operators, there are convenient filters and low price calendars. Comments (0)

By taxi

You can get to Koktebel from the airport by taxi. It's fast, convenient and not very cheap. A taxi can be ordered from the construction site at the airport or online from Simferopol Airport in Koktebel. You will not have to bargain with the driver of the car on the street, and you will also be greeted with a sign upon arrival at the airport. The cost is fixed and known in advance.

House-Museum of M. Voloshin

Koktebel, whose sights can please all connoisseurs of beauty, once sheltered the wonderful poet and philosopher M. Voloshin.

If you are interested in what to see in Koktebel after returning from the beach or an exciting excursion, then let your feet be directed towards the restored house-museum. Do not fail to also take a look at the creative workshop of the great poet. Many pieces of furniture that admired A. Tolstoy were made by M. Voloshin himself.

How to get to Koktebel by car from Rostov-on-Don

How to get there from Feodosia or Old Crimea

From Feodosia and Old Crimea to Koktebel - 20 and 28 km, respectively. The peculiarity of this “triangle” is that all the settlements within it are included in one area. This means that the buses between them are not intercity, but suburban. Getting there is as easy as shelling pears; you don’t even need to stand in line to buy a ticket at the box office. All you have to do is get on the bus and wait for the controller (sometimes the driver himself plays his role).

Departure point - bus station (in each city in a single copy).

It’s a good idea to buy a ticket from the airport to Feodosia, and from there take a taxi to the hotel door in Koktebel. Convenient, considering that you will also have to somehow get from the bus station to the hotel, and Koktebel, if you remember, is an urban-type settlement, and public transport there is a bit difficult.

From Simferopol you will have a choice of bus routes (stable every hour), and from the bus station you can order on the same Qiwi from 1,300 rubles. The option, of course, is complex, but has a right to exist.

Transport of approximately the same quality awaits you in Koktebel

  5. Route "Airport - Koktebel" on the map

No matter how many bloggers repeat year after year that “Koktebel is not the same anymore,” the tourist trail to it still will not be overgrown. To be honest, I myself am not indifferent to it, despite all the horrors of the difficulties with infrastructure. It’s not so much the village itself that is impressive, but its surroundings - Cape Chameleon, uninhabited bays, Maly Janissary Mountain, where the grave of Maximilian Voloshin is located.

But an article about interesting places in Koktebel will better tell you about this; we are interested in how things are with transport in Eastern Crimea.

The largest cities closest to Koktebel, to make it easier to navigate, are Feodosia and Stary Krym. Sometimes, if spontaneous interest arises, travelers look for a way to get there from Yalta or Sudak. And, of course, the main thing is how to get to Koktebel from Simferopol airport. Let's start with the last one.

Yalta - Koktebel: how to get there

The idea of getting to Koktebel from Yalta, of course, visits many vacationers. But in this case, you need to be prepared to spend at least 7.5-8 hours on the road (round trip). Whether it’s worth it or not, decide for yourself, my job is to tell you how to do it.

There are no direct flights Yalta - Koktebel, and this is expected. But buses depart to Feodosia almost every half hour from the Yalta Central Bus Station. There are both direct flights and passing ones (for example, from Sevastopol). The latter fact has almost no effect on the quality of the trip, unless you prefer seats in the first half of the bus and you feel uncomfortable riding in the “free” ones.

Departure time: from 03-50 to 19-00 (many morning flights - 7-40, 7-50, 8-00, 8-40, 9-00, etc.). Travel time is four hours one way.

Thus, if Koktebel is the next point on your vacation program in Crimea (after Yalta), the journey, although long, is quite convenient. If it’s for one day, think again whether it’s worth it.

Sudak - Koktebel: how to get there

If you decide to organize a one-day excursion from Sudak, then it’s quite possible to get to Koktebel in an hour or two. However, there is only one direct flight. It departs at 14-00, daily, on the route Sudak - Krasnogvardeyskoye.

But this is not a problem, because there are many flights with transfers from Sudak. And not only in Feodosia, but also in the villages of Grushevka and Bogatoye. Travel time will increase by a maximum of 30-50 minutes. Waiting, of course, is tedious, but there is no other way to get there.

Single ticket to Crimea + transfer

You can get to major cities of Crimea, for example, Feodosia, using a “single ticket” from Russian Railways, which includes a train ticket to Anapa or Krasnodar and a bus ticket to the desired city in Crimea. There is no such route to Koktebel.

You can use a single ticket to Feodosia. And from there you can take another bus or taxi. In 2022, the route operates from April 30 to September 30. Tickets must be purchased no earlier than 90 days before the train departs.

  1. From Moscow you take a train to Anapa or Krasnodar. Most often from the Kazansky station, but there are trains from Kursky, Paveletsky, Kievsky.
  2. In Anapa and Krasnodar, on the square near the station, change to a bus to Feodosia.
  3. In Feodosia, take a bus or taxi to Koktebel.

Seating on the bus is free. If you miss your bus, you can take any other one going in the right direction until 23:59 of the current day, if there are free seats. Travel time: Moscow - Feodosia: from 27 hours

The route through Krasnodar is faster and cheaper.

If we compare the fastest trains, they are 1.5 hours faster. And tickets, depending on the place and the train, are 500 - 1500 rubles cheaper.

The route through Anapa is longer, but by bus it takes 2.5 hours less. With small children, it can be easier to spend an extra few hours on a train than two on a cramped bus.

When purchasing a ticket through the Russian Railways website, you can see how long the journey will take separately by train, separately by bus:

There are subtleties when buying a ticket online on the Russian Railways website - this process is discussed in detail in the article on how to get to Feodosia by train. If you have not yet chosen where you will live and want to save money when booking, we recommend using the RoomGuru service. Firstly, it contains hotels, apartments and guest houses from many different booking systems, so you won’t miss out on a worthwhile option. Secondly, you can immediately compare prices for one place in different services and book where it is cheaper (this is not always Booking!). What to see?

Knowing where Koktebel is located and in which area you can live here, you need to consider the list of places that will be interesting to visit for tourists who come to the town for the first time.

Experienced travelers recommend going to the locations of historical monuments, as well as visiting natural attractions. In order not to miss anything, tourists can take part in paid excursion programs.

As mentioned earlier, Koktebel is a country of wines. A factory for the production of this drink has been operating here for many years. It operates a company store where you can purchase drinks produced at the plant (wine, champagne, cognac). Experienced travelers recommend trying Kutuzov cognac, which is prepared using a unique technology and infused in oak barrels for 25 years.

Fans of fishing can go to the best places for this type of recreation - local residents will always advise them. Guests of the locality who prefer active night recreation can visit local clubs, billiard halls, bowling alleys, as well as other entertainment that operates at night.

Intracity transport

In general, city minibuses do not go through Koktebel itself. And there are only buses passing through the village. But there is nothing strange about this - the area of the village is small - you can get to any point in the village in 20 minutes on foot. So, for example, from the bus station to the beach it is only a 10-minute walk.

If you need to travel around the village by transport, you can take a taxi.

Here are some Koktebel taxi numbers:

  • +7;
  • +7;
  • +7.

Bicycles are also . The rental point is located right at the Koktebel bus station. Cost of service: 100 rub. for 1 hour, and for a day - 500 rubles.

It is important to know

In summer, minibuses travel in two directions:

  • Feodosia - Koktebel - Urochishche.
  • Feodosia - Koktebel - Biological Station.

The duty minibus starts working at half past seven in the morning, with an interval of 15-20 minutes. The last minibus leaves at half past nine in the evening.

If you decide to stay at Blue Bay, it is recommended to ask the driver to stop at the entrance to the boarding house in advance. If you “unload” at the bus station, it will be a long walk to your destination.

Intercity communication

Feodosia – Koktebel

If any city in Crimea is not directly connected with Koktebel, then the easiest way is to get to Feodosia first and then to Koktebel.

Feodosia is the closest large city to the village. The objects are separated by 20 km of road. Travel time will take 26 minutes. Koktebel is connected to Feodosia by bus number 101.

From Feodosia it departs from the final stop, near a large shopping center (address: Feodosia, Krymskaya str. 21 B).

Route 101 runs quite frequently, approximately every 20 minutes, thereby not forcing tourists to languish while waiting on a hot, stuffy day. The price of the trip is 25 rubles.

Simferopol – Koktebel

The distance between cities is 114 km. It's a 2 hour bus ride. Departure for Koktebel from the Kurortnaya-2 bus station.

The station is located right next to the Simferopol railway station. Departures to Koktebel every hour starting at 9 a.m., and the last bus leaves at 7 p.m. The cost of the trip is 150 rubles.

By the way, you can get to Koktebel from Simferopol directly from the airport. True, there are only two routes going directly to Koktebel, departing at 03:30 and 18:30.

If you don’t have time for these buses, then you will have to get to the Simferopol bus station (all routes go there), and from there to Koktebel. The cost of a trip from Simferopol airport to Koktebel is 150 rubles.

Sudak – Koktebel

The distance between the cities is 33 km. Travel time will be approximately 38 minutes. You need to take any bus going to Feodosia. The fact is that this route is laid through Koktebel.

The first bus to Feodosia leaves early in the morning at 06:10. And the last one departs from the Sudak bus station at 20:00. The cost of a trip to Koktebel will be only 70 rubles.

Kerch – Koktebel

Kerch is separated from Koktebel by 115 km. The travel time will be a little more than an hour and a half. Soon, when the Kerch Bridge connecting Crimea with the “Big Land” is opened, tourists will come to the peninsula in their own vehicles.

Therefore, the easiest way to get from Kerch to Koktebel by car is by moving first along the E97 highway, and then along the Kerch Highway (P29).

If you plan to get to Koktebel by public transport , then from Kerch you will first have to get to Feodosia. Buses depart in this direction every two hours. Trip cost: 150 rub. And from Feodosia, take the same route No. 101 - to Koktebel.

Yalta – Koktebel

Yalta is separated from Koktebel by 146 km. It's almost 2.5 hours away by car or bus. But the cities are not connected by direct transport links.

But all buses going to Feodosia pass through Koktebel. The bus makes a stop at the Koktebel bus station. This is where you need to get off if you are going to Koktebel itself. The cost of the trip is 170 rubles.

When is the best time to go?

In reviews of tourists about a trip to Koktebel, opinions are often expressed about when is the best time to go here. It should be understood that the town in question belongs to the resort category, and the best time to visit it, undoubtedly, is the summer period. At this time, the air temperature here reaches 35 degrees, and the water - about 30.

During the high season, the village sees a large number of tourists, which undoubtedly complicates the process of finding suitable housing. In the summer, the city has a large number of entertainment venues, of which the dolphinarium and water park are the most popular.

In winter, the village literally freezes. In October, almost all shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment venues close here. They open in May. The air temperature during this period is quite low - it stays around zero, and a cold wind blows from the sea.

Sea transport

It’s worth mentioning right away that this is not a way to quickly get somewhere, but an opportunity to simply take a boat ride and get a dose of romance.

Sea transport only goes from Koktebel to Feodosia. And even then irregularly. In rainy weather, flights are generally cancelled. And on a sunny day you will have to wait a long time for departure, because the boat goes to Feodosia only every three hours. The cost of such a sea trip is 250 rubles.

Also from the Koktebel sea pier you can sail to the village of Kurotnoye (next to Koktebel) and to the Karadag Nature Reserve (also located almost close to the village of Koktebel). The cost of such a trip by sea is 100 rubles.

Local residents rarely use sea transport; it always takes longer and is more expensive. But being a tourist, it is quite possible to arrange an exciting sea voyage.

By the way, when approaching the Karadgsky Nature Reserve, you can see up close the famous Golden Arch (this is a huge stone sticking out of the water in the shape of a gate).

Boats always sail under the arch, trying to bring tourists a lot of joy and pleasure. It is not possible to see this Golden Arch from land, since the shore next to it is rocky and does not allow you to get close to the water's edge.

So, Koktebel’s transport connects the village with other major resorts in Crimea. Therefore, by staying at one of the hotels in Koktebel, you can easily get to any attraction of the peninsula.

Before traveling to Koktebel, we suggest that you familiarize yourself with the accommodation options in the resort village.

Holy Mountain Kara-Dag

Between the Koktebel basin and the Otuzki valley there is an unusual mountain range called Kara-Dag. A holiday in Koktebel is impossible without visiting this place, which has become a kind of calling card of the village.

Many believe that the word “kara” is translated from Turkic exclusively as “black”. However, it has at least twenty-two meanings. Thus, the local population rightfully considers the mountain holy. According to legend, an old man once lived here, famous for his wisdom and ascetic deeds. Having become seriously ill, he ordered to be buried in the place where his staff fell. To the great surprise of the elder’s disciples, the staff flew to the top of Kara-Dag. After some time, people began to be healed at the ascetic’s grave.

This unique natural creation is a bizarre result of volcanic processes that occurred about 150 million years ago. At a certain period of formation, one of the parts of the volcanic massif was under water, and the other was intended to remain on the surface and delight numerous “pilgrims” with magnificent natural views and small attractive bays.

Due to its volcanic origin, many valuable minerals can be found here, and the world of flora and fauna constantly presents complex problems to scientists. The mountain range is home to wild boars, whose ancestors were brought here from the Ussuri taiga in the thirties of the last century.

Having arrived in Koktebel, whose sights are worth seeing at least once in your life, do not fail to take an excursion along the Kurortnoye - Devil's Finger route. Traveling along the ecological trail will not leave anyone indifferent.

Desperate romantics are recommended to take a boat trip to the legendary Golden Gate.
