How to navigate the resort

Many tourists call it a town, but it is just a village with a population of about 6,000 people. There are lower and upper areas of Partenit, with their own infrastructure and accommodation facilities.

  1. The bus station is the center of the village. From here the sea is just a stone's throw away, and the most popular cafes and shops are at your fingertips.
  2. The most tourist and lively areas are the market and Ayvazovka .
  3. The Wiener region remains remote from the sea and boring for tourists . But for those who don’t like resort noise and don’t mind walking, this area is also suitable.

The center of life for city residents is the street. Solnechnaya in the area of the Food Market ( red circle ). There are shops, the market itself, cosmetics, a hairdresser - everything you need for life.

A little higher at the intersection of the street. Frunzeskaya and st. Vasilyevskaya Aivazovka ( green ) is another oasis of civilization. Parking, shop, cafe and entrance to the park of the Aivazovskoye sanatorium.

But, still, the tourist center of Partenit is the bus station area and the gate to the Crimea sanatorium ( green circle below).

From there I will present you with a panorama for orientation on the spot:

Reviews from tourists about the holiday

  1. Tourists cite its convenient location, clean beaches, and developed infrastructure among the advantages of holidaying in the village.
  2. According to travelers, holidays in the village are comparatively cheaper than at neighboring popular resorts , and the conditions are no worse. Vacationers are pleasantly pleased with the prices for entertainment and food.
  3. To diversify their leisure time, guests of Partenit can go to Alushta, where there is a wide selection of entertainment: a water park, a zoo, the “Crimea in Miniature” park, water attractions, etc.

What is the weather like in Partenit during the holiday season? The swimming season in the village opens at the end of May and lasts until September. The best time to relax in Partenit is the second half of summer , when the sea is warmed up to a comfortable 25...27°C , the air is up to 29°C , and there is practically no precipitation.

General information about Partenite

Partenit is more of a climatic resort than an entertainment resort. Immersed in the greenery of wild forests and cultural park recreation areas, the village has good health resorts and boarding houses.

The name Partenit comes from the Greek “maiden”, “maiden” and according to legend, on one of the slopes of the mountains there was a temple of the goddess Virgo .

Since ancient times, there were settlements here, whose inhabitants were engaged in agriculture, fishing, and trade. Until the Soviet era, Partenit did not develop as a resort and was a small village.

The Raevsky family made a great contribution to the development of fruit and garden farming in the village . The general's sons, in turn, each at one time, were engaged in the cultivation of rare plants, vineyards and wine production.

In the vicinity of Partenit there were estates and estates of the Winners and Gagarins.

At the end of the war, sanatoriums began to be built in Partenit, mainly for the military, and the village was renamed Frunzenskoye. Titov and Leonov , marshals Rokossovsky, Zhukov, Konev rested in the sanatoriums of the USSR Ministry of Defense "Frunzenskoye" and "Crimea" .

In 1991, the village was returned to its original name.

Impressions from Partenit

The picturesque Partenite Valley stretches between the mountains and the Black Sea coast. Tall cypress trees, spreading pines, vineyards and juniper groves... According to reviews, Partenite is loved for its luxurious nature, mild climate and clean beaches. It is convenient to relax here at any time of the year!

Partenit differs from other Crimean resorts in that there are not a large number of shops with beach goods, smoky kebab shops and noisy barkers. The small green village consists of two streets that go down to the sea. The first coastline is almost entirely occupied by large sanatoriums “Aivazovskoye” and “Crimea”; further on there are apartment buildings.

Denchik0812: “On the plus side, I can mention the sea air, a lot of greenery, clean sea, not very expensive housing. I recommend this urban village to everyone for a relaxing family holiday.”

oks_tchistyackowa: “The room overlooked the terrace overlooking the sea and Bear Mountain or Ayu-Dag. Beauty... Especially in the evening, the bright moon, the sea, sea air, and music playing somewhere.”

Climate and weather

The subtropical climate of Partenite is an excellent healing factor for pulmonary diseases and long-term rest. The valley, closed on three sides by mountain slopes, retains heat and humidity well, not allowing cold air currents to pass through.

  1. In summer it is quite hot here, especially in August, but already in September the summer heat subsides. In winter it is quite windy and rainy.
  2. The rainiest month is June. May is not far behind it. But in autumn, on the contrary, there is almost no precipitation.
  3. The sea water warms up only in June and maintains a comfortable temperature until the end of September.

When is the best time to go?

The resort's sanatoriums serve tourists all year round. The beach season lasts from late May to mid-October. According to reviews from vacationers, the sea in Partenit is well warmed up for swimming from July to September. During these months the weather is moderately hot and there is little rain.

beauty know: “Nature looks beautiful at any time of the year. In summer it is bright and juicy. In winter everything is dull and resting. In spring it begins to bloom. And autumn, my favorite season, is full of fog, colorful leaves, and coolness.”

Public transport

The village is quite large and has difficult terrain, so there is transport here:

  • buses to neighboring Yalta, Alushta, Maly Mayak
  • local minibus No. 1 and No. 1a (only in season)

Buses run on a schedule that depends on the season. Details can be found on this website, and all changes can be found on the board next to the bus station.

  • To Alushta (No. 109, 25) buses go to the square. Soviet with and without a stop at Maly Mayak. The fare is 25 rubles.
  • To Yalta (No. 381) goes to the bus station. The fare is 40 rubles.

Please note that during the season the buses cannot cope with the load of tourists. And God forbid it’s a rainy day and everyone is eager to go to Yalta for a walk. What to do? Route No. 1 comes to the rescue, which goes to the highway.

  • No. 1 - carries people around Partenit and gets to the highway. On the highway you can take any passing bus towards Alushta or Yalta.
  • No. 1a - travels from the Winner area through the highway to the city beaches in the area of the Europe Hotel.

They run daily from 7.00 to 19.00. The fare is 17 rubles.

How to get to Partenit: route from Simferopol

You can get to the resort village as follows:
  • By bus
  • By trolleybus
  • By taxi

Minibuses and trolleybuses go to Partenit from the Simferopol railway station.
You can get there by direct bus - every day from 6 am to 20:30 (approximately 120 rubles). The journey will take about two hours.

The trolleybus runs from both the airport and the Simferopol train station. Departure every 20 minutes. But, of course, the trolleybus goes slowly and for a long time - about three hours

The fastest option is a taxi.

Important! Do not use taxi services near the airport or train station.
It will be expensive, and they can also deceive you. It is better to call a local taxi or use a transfer.

Sanatoriums and hotels

There are 2 excellent sanatoriums in Partenit, which share almost the entire beach line of the village between them:

  • Aivazovskoye is a luxurious sanatorium with its own incredible park, beach area, spa and swimming pools. Considering that the seasonal price for visiting the park is 1200 rubles (!!), it would not be bad to live here for at least a few days.
  • Crimea is a coastal sanatorium in Moscow Region, which also has a large (but rather simple) park, a dolphinarium, and its own beaches. Here the number of rooms is more tired, but the medical facilities are better.

There are also 3 hotels of a fairly high level. See accommodation prices here.

  1. Europe - 4* all-inclusive hotel with its own beach and other amenities for an unforgettable vacation. Located between Paradise Park and the Karasan estate right on the embankment. Prices are high.
  2. Nord is not a bad 3* hotel with everything you need for a carefree holiday: swimming pool, hammam, food, parking, but in the basic version. Considering the prices, it's ok. 2 big disadvantages - soundproofing and no territory. But 2 steps from the bus station and the beach.
  3. Majestic is a direct competitor to Nord in the same price category. What is the difference? The hotel itself is nice with its own outdoor pool. But the walk to the beach is 1 km.

The largest beach of Partenita

Closer to Cape Plaka there is the Tavrida-Azot recreation center , the territory of which is considered the most spacious and comfortable for vacationers. True, due to the fact that the coating is constantly being filled with fresh pebbles, walking barefoot is quite sensitive.

Usually there are stationary canopies, paths to the water, changing rooms; in 2022, shower heads were added, and there is a cafe.

The terrace has a covered area directly above the sea. Sun loungers are free for residents of the base. The places under the canopy are always occupied by “our own people” from early morning.

For entertainment, all water attractions are available - catamarans, banana rides, scooters. There is a pier nearby from which excursion boats depart.

Private sector

Represented by mini-hotels, guest houses and even apartments. Yes, the village has apartment buildings with kitchens, bathrooms and entrances.

The big negative that awaits all private owners of Partenit in 2021 is the lack of beaches!

Both sanatoriums have closed their territories to strangers and you have a choice of a mini-beach near Mount Medvezhonok (they will trample in the summer) and a good equipped beach in the area of the Europe Hotel.

But we still have to get there! Walking from the bus station is 2.5 km or about 40 minutes in the heat!

If this doesn’t scare you, then there is quite a lot of housing here. If you haven’t found it on the Internet, there are advertisements and local realtors at the bus station.

Please note that the area is mountainous and from the bus station there is a rather steep uphill climb to the Aivazovskoye sanatorium. It is better for mothers with strollers and non-athletes to look for housing in the area of the Crimea sanatorium.

A good option is the Flamingo and Partenit hotels. Cheap, but with amenities at a distance at the Western Guest House. So choose your own housing according to your income.

By the way, many private owners rent out housing for at least 3 days. Please take this into account.

Bear Mountain Beaches

A unique mountain divide between Parentit and Gurzuf is the famous Bear Mountain. It turns out that here you can not only climb in search of medieval ruins, turn your head on a steep descent and find a godforsaken place of power, but also swim.

There are several secluded beaches at the nose of the mountain.

Topographically, the bay is called Panair, and in the language of the average person, Big Beach, Small Beach and Raevsky Beach. There are also wonderful grottoes where you can go by kayak or small boat.

Kamikazes descend to the Big Beach along a mountain path. A cowardly but prudent man in the street will call for help in the form of a boat or a wife with an oar.

Once you have mastered the art of kayaking, you will be able to find all 3 beaches and create your own rating. Don't forget a Panama hat, a bottle of water and a good mood.

You can rent a kayak or boat at the piers of the Crimea sanatorium or from these guys.

Shops and restaurants

The main market is located in the center, on Solnechnaya Street. The range of goods is extensive, from food to souvenirs and household items.

Nearby there is a decent supermarket “ Yabloko ”. Another large grocery store “ Neighbor ” is located opposite the entrance to the Aivazovskoye sanatorium.

The 2nd center of attraction is the bus station area and a small shopping alley up along the stream. Partenit also has its own clinic and pharmacy, beauty salons, and bank branches.

Most of the catering establishments are located in the lower part of Partenit . But along the way there are shops with pizza and pasties, kiosks with drinks and sweets.

The right restaurant in Partenit is “ Sunflowers ”: delicious dishes, good service, live music in the evenings. But the prices are also not inferior to the quality. Cheaper and tasty in the Home Kitchen . Located 2 steps from the restaurant around the corner across from Resort Goods.

You can have a normal and inexpensive meal on the way to the city beach at the Citadel . If you're in the market area, stop by to see what Alina's has . Home cooking and prices are not bad.

If you need a barbecue, you can try your luck at the Ayu-Dag . Everything seems to be fine, but it doesn’t change from year to year. We need to test it.

Well, no one has canceled children’s favorite pizza and hamburgers. For this business, definitely go to the Picanto pizzeria opposite the entrance to Aivazovskoye. By the way, they also have delivery, if that happens.

What to bring

Souvenirs in Partenit are sold at the local market. If you stay in a large hotel complex, there will most likely also be shops with beach paraphernalia and seafood products on its territory. The choice of gifts to remember your holiday in Crimea is large: plates, keychains with Crimean symbols and Partenit landscapes, T-shirts and items made from sea shells.

Homemade wines need to be tasted before purchasing; it is better to take a sample from the bottle you are going to buy.

The most popular edible souvenir is olives; there are large olive groves in the village. You can also buy home a bottle of myrtle or mint syrup, which are considered healing. Collections made from Crimean herbs are also in demand. Parthenit is small, there are no hypermarkets here. Most of the retail outlets, pharmacies and the only supermarket “Horizon” are located in the center. It is better to go to the market for fruits and vegetables - prices there are lower. Local homemade wine is also available in abundance. However, it is safer to buy Crimean wines in brand stores.

Sea and beaches

The cleanest sea is closer to Mount Ayu-Dag , and in the area of the central beach, due to the mountain rivers flowing into the sea, the water becomes dirty yellow after rains. But this is subject to heavy rainfall.

In Partenit, all beaches are pebbly, mixed with sand. They do not have spacious territories. Almost all beach areas are classified as sanatoriums, and only the central (city) beach is generally accessible.

The best beaches are:

  • sanatorium "Crimea" ;
  • sanatorium "Aivazovskoe" ;
  • hotel "Europe" .

In 2022, the embankment in Partenit was finally repaired and updated and access to the beach of the Crimea sanatorium was opened. The new embankment stretches all the way to the entrance to Karasan. And two beach cards of the Crimea sanatorium are open to everyone from 8.00 to 19.00. The entrance is free.

The beach of the Europe Hotel and the 5th and 6th cards of the Aivazovskoye sanatorium remained free.

There are also so-called village beaches that follow “Europe” . There are few people there yet because the walk is quite far. But the beaches were renovated last year and swimming here is a pleasure.

Parthenite

general information

From Partenit to Alushta - only 15 km. Separated from neighboring Gurzuf by the gray-green slopes of Mount Ayu-Dag, this Black Sea resort is also interesting for its ancient past, which periodically reminds tourists who are not too lazy to wander into the former excavation sites. A vacation in Partenit today means, first of all, enjoying the climatic factors, forays into nature, sanatorium relaxation and outings. Beach holidays here are also at the same level. You can enjoy the space and privacy on the wild beaches in the vicinity of the village, or you can compete with other tourists for the best “square” of pebbles in the municipal swimming areas. But the best thing is to meditate on a sun lounger on a section of the shore closed to outsiders, assigned to some hotel or sanatorium.

Weather. Best time to travel

Partenite is located in a small flat valley, cut off from the southwestern part of the coast by the slopes of Ayu-Dag, and from the northeast by the forested ridge of the Crimean Mountains. As with any seaside resort that is part of the subtropical climate zone, Partenit is most interesting in the summer. Formally, the season in this part of the southern coast of Crimea opens in May. But it is advisable to go here at the end of spring only in order to save on accommodation and food - it is still too cool for swimming in May.

In June it is already warmer on the coast. You can even organize swims, but you will have to put up with periodic bad weather, which is typical at the beginning of summer. If you want to “squeeze” the maximum impressions and pleasures out of your holiday in Partenit, it is better to come to Crimea in July-August, when the sea greets you with a comfortable +25...27 °C, and there is practically no rain. The number of vacationers during these “golden” months is, in every sense, off the charts, so you will have to compete with other holidaymakers in dexterity and ingenuity in order to secure a place on the free beach.

September in Partenit is gentle, alluring with the slowly cooling sea and the gradually slowing pace of resort life. Consider an autumn vacation if you don't like the beach crowds that characterize popular seaside resorts and don't want to overpay for housing. Before the season closes, hotels begin to reduce prices.

History of the village

Life in Partenit has been vibrant since prehistoric times. According to archaeologists, the first settlements in this part of the South Coast appeared in the Paleolithic era. Then the brands came to the Black Sea coast, to which the resort owes its name. According to legend, in the vicinity of the village, settlers erected a temple in honor of the goddess Virgo. Later, when the Byzantines settled in Crimea, the village was named Partenit, which became a reference to Taurus beliefs - from Greek “partenit” is translated as “maiden”.

Over time, the small village grew, becoming a fairly influential Black Sea city, famous for its vineyards and craft workshops. As a result, starting from the 14th century, new conquerors began to approach the walls of Partenit: first, the Genoese, who threw all their efforts into the construction of the castle-fortress of Kale-Poti; then - the Ottoman Turks, who burned the rich Partenite settlement almost to the ground. In 1783, after the annexation of the Crimean territories to Russia, Partenit became part of the Simferopol district, becoming part of the Tauride region formed at the same time.

Sights of Partenit

There are few attractions at the resort that can arouse tourist interest, so you will have to look for relief from boredom from local excursion sellers. Perhaps the most noticeable object, which willy-nilly you will have to observe throughout your entire vacation in the village, is Ayu-Dag or Bear Mountain. According to legend, before reaching Partenit, the Taurus tribes settled Ayu-Dag, as evidenced by the ancient figurines and remains of household utensils found there.

Of the larger traces of human activity, reminiscent of irretrievably gone eras, the remains of the Basilica of the Apostles Peter and Paul have been preserved on Bear Mountain. The ruins of the sanctuary are located at the foot of the site, however, you will have to make your way to them through the territory of the military sanatorium “Crimea”. Visiting esotericists also love to climb Ayu-Dag: according to rumors, the mountain has powerful energy that “enlightens” everyone who is not too lazy to climb it.

A more “light” option, designed for everyone who is not enthusiastic about tiring mountain climbs, is the Kuchuk-Ayu rock or the Bear Cub in the Partenite Bay. The history of the object is also outstanding, and it is easier to climb. In ancient times, there was a structure on Kuchuk-Ayu that served as a temple and a lighthouse, so today vacationers have a chance to look at the steps carved into the rock. This is all that remains of the majestic building.

A rather challenging quest can be the climb to the Kale-Poti cliff in the eastern part of Partenit. It was here that the Genoese built a castle for their consul, and then created a small settlement in its surroundings. Today on the cliff you can find the foundations of the fortress, not to mention the ceramic shards with which the land of Calais-Ponty is simply strewn in some places. The only difficulty is the resort development, due to which the route to the rock will have to be laid through private property, not forgetting to obtain permission to enter from the owners.

At the address: lane. Krutoy, 1, there is a modest reminder of the times of Turkish dominance in Crimea - a small stone minaret. The building is quite dilapidated, but, fortunately, it has not been disfigured by thoughtless restoration, and therefore looks authentic. According to some reports, the age of the building is about 300 years - the rest of the mosque was destroyed at the end of the 20th century during the expansion of the village road. The structure has a small arch passage and a stone ladder that allows you to climb to the upper platform, but due to the miniature size of the minaret, few people will be able to enter inside.

Connoisseurs of shady recreational areas are recommended to make their way to the territory of the Crimea sanatorium park. Some of the trees were planted back in the 19th century, and the land itself belonged to the old noble family of the Raevskys. Entrance is paid and strictly based on passports, but such restrictions do not affect the number of visitors. The park of the Aivazovskoye sanatorium looks more “postcard-like” than its competitor - the green spaces are looked after by a staff of professional gardeners, and besides, this resort facility was luckier with financing. Entrance, as in the first case, requires a ticket, but the impressions gained during the excursion completely pay for its cost.

The territory of the Aivazovskoye Park is 25 hectares, which are divided into 5 thematic zones. Be sure to find a clearing with 25 olive trees. According to local guides, each of the trees is 500 years old.

The Utes-Karasan palace and park ensemble, part of Partenit, but located to the northeast of the village, is also capable of pleasantly surprising. In addition to more than 200 species of exotic plants exported at one time from Africa and South America, the location is interesting because of the neo-Moorish style estate that belonged to the Raevsky clan.

Another example of architecture from the beginning of the last century awaits everyone on the territory of the Utes sanatorium, located in the village of the same name, near Cape Plaka. The health resort building, reminiscent of a medieval castle, is the former palace of Princess Gagarina. The construction was completed just in the year of the death of its dignified owner, and materials for the construction were delivered from Italy and France.

Travelers with children should visit the dolphinarium of the Crimea sanatorium. Marine mammals are involved in therapeutic programs here, but demonstration shows are also sometimes organized, so make inquiries about the cultural and entertainment program in advance. The institution has a “live” profile on Instagram, where you can get answers to all your questions.

Beach holiday in Partenit

The beaches of Partenit are predominantly pebble, although in some places there may be places strewn with stones. As for accessibility, the most convenient sections of the coastline were given to the Crimea and Aivazovskoye sanatoriums. Now, in order to relax in these locations, you will have to either become a guest of one of these health resorts, or pay for every opportunity to splash around in a closed area.

Both sanatorium beaches are almost a kilometer long, but on the territory of Aivazovsky the infrastructure is more advanced - there are bars and a restaurant, kayak and catamaran rental points, and free Wi-Fi. True, you will have to pay more for the listed amenities - a visit to the beach is included in the price of a ticket to Aivazovskoye Park and can range from 600 to 1200 rubles, depending on the season.

If you want to have fun on the shore for free, you can go to the Central Beach, sandwiched on both sides by the bathing areas of the same “Crimea” and “Aivazovsky”. There is ridiculously little free space here, so during the season you will have to organize battles for a place in the sun with other fans of sitting on the warm pebbles - most likely, the fullness of the location will not allow you to lie down.

A temporary compromise between the resort beaches and the village beaches could be the section of coast between the Aivazovskoye and Karasan parks. The most convenient part of it is at the Europe and Ayu-Dag hotels, which have improved the territory of the bathing area and even covered it with sand in some places. So far, tourists “from the street” are allowed here freely, charging only for sunbeds and other beach equipment.

Purely symbolic beaches can be found even on Bear Mountain. The descents to them are extreme, but you won’t have to compete with anyone for a narrow strip of pebbles mixed with boulders. If you need completely wild places, move in the opposite direction from Ayu-Dag, to Cape Plaka. The coast in this part of the resort is rugged, pebbly in places, rocky in others, but there is plenty of privacy, silence and freedom.

Restaurants and cafes

Partenite catering is basically fast food, sold literally at every turn. Accordingly, lovers of all kinds of pasties, pizza and sausages in dough will be most comfortable at the resort. There are also several canteens in the village, but not all of them have an ideal reputation, so before visiting them it is useful to read reviews about the quality of products and service.

If you need not just a snack, but also the appropriate atmosphere, you can spend a couple of hours at Poseidon by the Sea. The local cuisine restaurant belongs to the Aivazovskoye sanatorium. In addition, the establishment is famous for the fact that it is here that you can taste dishes with olives collected from 500-year-old trees growing in the sanatorium park. In addition to the traditional lunch, you can also order a gastrotour at Poseidon - an expensive, but memorable pleasure. Among the cafes, the most popular among vacationers in Partenit are “Sunflowers” and “Alice”.

Where to stay

Partenit is being built up more and more every year, not only with standard boarding houses, but also with pretentious hotels and vacation homes. For example, already within the boundaries of the village you can find two “four-star” hotels - the Europe and Ayu-Dag hotels, a stay in which will cost from 15,500 rubles. per day. Resort guests who love the all-inclusive system will love the Majestic. The issue price is from 9500 rubles. for a double room.

A day's stay in Partenit guest houses at the height of summer costs approximately 3000-3500 rubles. Moreover, a sharp price jump is observed in August, and a decline in September. In search of cheaper accommodation options, you can go to the private sector: prices for rooms during the peak swimming season start from 1,500 rubles.

Booking.com

Shopping

The main “deposit” of Partenite souvenirs is the village market. In addition to all sorts of little things made from shells and legendary herbal teas, here you can stock up on homemade wine (be sure to taste meticulously so as not to run into a surrogate) and fruit jam. It is also easy to find Crimean cosmetics and myrtle syrup, a unique eco-product produced by the Nikitskaya laboratory, famous on the peninsula. By the way, the manufacturer has a very informative website that tells in detail about the syrup and the correct ways to use it.

Transport

It’s easy to get around Partenite on foot, but if getting to the desired point in the heat seems problematic, you can negotiate with local taxi drivers. There are no fixed prices, so for the same distance you can pay either 200 rubles or 400 rubles. For example, a trip to Simferopol airport in the company of a local reckless driver costs 1,500-2,000 rubles. If you want to take a ride with less damage to your budget, choose a ticket for bus No. 1, running between Alushta and the Viner microdistrict, which also passes through Partenit. It is especially recommended to pay attention to this option if you need to quickly get to the park of the Crimea sanatorium and the dolphinarium.

How to get there

The main types of transport for tourists whose path to Partenit starts from Simferopol, or more precisely from its airport, are taxis and buses. From the city bus station "Kurortnaya 2" in the direction of the village there are several bus trips a day, starting at 06:13 in the morning. Travel time – 1 hour 40 minutes. From Alushta you can get to Partenit by minibuses No. 110, 111 and 127.

The famous Crimean trolleybus, following the route Yalta - Simferopol, also makes a stop near the turn to Partenit. For those who crossed the Crimean Bridge in a personal car and plan to travel the rest of the way in the same way, it is recommended to stick to the Feodosia direction, then through Koktebel to Alushta and from there along the South Coast Highway to Partenit.

What to see in Partenit

In fact, Partenit is not rich in attractions; there are enough fingers on the 1st hand to list them:

  1. Park of the Aivazovsky sanatorium - separate article
  2. Park of the Crimea sanatorium - closed to outsiders
  3. Compound of the Kosmo-Demyanovsky Monastery.

Not far from Partenit there is the former estate of the Raevskys - Karasansky Park, about which there is a separate article on the blog.

Not far from Partenit, on the side of the village. Zaprudny there is Turquoise Lake , created by underground salty springs. They say that this is one of the places of energy power in Crimea. The lake is surrounded by green forests. There is a tourist parking area where you can stay overnight.

Of course, if you rented a car (more details about renting in this article), then you can go to neighboring Gurzuf, Yalta and Utes, Alushta.

Rent a Car

A car will be useful for those who want not only to relax on the beaches of Partenit, but also to explore the surrounding area and go to neighboring Yalta or Alushta. If you wish, you can even travel around the entire peninsula. To travel to the Nikitsky Botanical Garden or the Yalta Nature Reserve, it is better to rent a car for the whole day.

Roads in the vicinity of the resort are free, but their quality leaves much to be desired. Good, recently renovated sections are rare, and it is not worth driving at high speeds. There are no paid parking lots in the village, but you can always find a parking space.

There are no rental offices in Partenit itself. It’s better to take a car immediately upon arrival in Simferopol or - it’s fast and convenient. The price for renting an economy class car starts from 500 RUB per hour, and from 1,500 RUB per day.

Ancient monuments

The history of this settlement goes back to ancient times. Archaeologists confirm that the valley has been inhabited since the Neolithic period. An ancient people called Tauri lived here. The name Parthenite comes from the Greek word “parthenos”. Its translation sounds like “maiden”, that is, belonging to the Virgin - the goddess who was universally worshiped in Taurida. One version of the origin of this name suggests that the temple of this goddess was located on Ayu-Dag or somewhere else in the Partenite Valley. In ancient times there was a crowded trading port here.

The city at various times belonged to the Scythians, the Bosporan Kingdom, and the ancient Romans. During the Byzantine Empire, it became one of the significant cities of the Gothic diocese. The Life of John of Goths tells that this saint was from a place called Partenites. For some time the Genoese ruled here. Their fortress was conquered by the Ottomans. After the peninsula entered the Russian Empire, this area belonged to several owners at different times. During Soviet times, the town began to develop as a resort. In 1945 it began to be called Frunzenskoe. In 1993, Partenite was given back its ancient name.

Sights of Partenit (Crimea) - beautiful photos

Unfortunately, despite the very rich history of this region, almost no historical, architectural and archaeological monuments have been preserved, although there is still something to see here.

In Partenit, most of the historically and culturally significant buildings were created in the last hundred years. I'm glad that not everything is forgotten under the layers of history. In addition, the village is located in close proximity to larger cities, which allows you to go there if necessary.

The house-museum of brownies in Partenit is the only exhibition complex of its kind. The literary and art museum “House of Brownies” was founded in 2009 at the creative workshop of wood sculptors. The museum's collection includes about 400 original works.

Legend has it that once upon a time there lived a brownie in an art workshop who was an indispensable assistant. When the masters went to bed, brownies from all over the area gathered in the workshop and completed the works of the authors. The number of orders from the masters grew, and clients from all over the world began to flock to them. Some clients began to take brownies into their homes, which is why there were much fewer of them. The brownie, who lived in the workshop, very soon became sad and lonely without his friends. Then the owners of the workshop decided to create many brownies and open a museum where guests would come.

Each brownie presented in the museum is made by hand. To create characters, only high-quality and valuable wood species are used (various types of cedar, cypress). For craftsmen, every brownie is not just a museum exhibit. The sculptures are inhabited by invisible spirits who wait and choose partners with whom they will go to their homes.

It is interesting that interesting situations related to brownies happened to some people who visited the museum. The masters want to collect as many of these stories as possible and combine them into a book, which will be called “From the Life of Brownies.”

Museum of Stone (Museum of Natural Beauty and Antiquities)

Address: st. Solnechnaya, 6A Opening hours: 12.00-20.00 Mon-Sun (only in summer) Ticket price: about 100 rubles Website: https://www.partenit.ru/museum.shtml

The Stone Museum was created by the private Partenite collector Alexander Kulesh. Initially, collecting was just a hobby for him. He collected rock samples, fossils of prehistoric animals, and other interesting geological specimens. All exhibits were kept at the collector's home.

Alexander Kulish says: “Whoever saw my miniatures for the first time asked me where and what I painted there by hand. The fact of the matter is that I didn’t finish anything. This is the value of my collection.”

The starting point for the creation of the museum was an ordinary accident. One day, while working, Alexander Kulish cut a stone and on the internal cut he discovered a slightly blurry landscape, the contours of which resembled mountains, trees and lakes. This greatly amazed the collector. He came up with the idea of finding such unique stones and revealing their “soul.”

The collection grew and soon no longer fit in Kulish’s house and moved to a separate building. This is how the Parthenite Stone Museum arose.

The museum's exposition is replenished almost every month; at the moment, it has long passed the 4,500-piece mark.

Karasan Palace

Address: Utes village, territory of the Karasan sanatorium How to get there:

  • Go through on your own. But it is worth considering that free access to the territory of the sanatorium may be closed. You can try to negotiate on the spot with security for a fee.
  • Buy an excursion “Noble estates of Kuchuk-Lambata”.

The Karasan Palace, or the Raevsky estate, is a beautiful building made in the Iranian, or Moorish, style with elements of classicism and baroque.

The lands where the sanatorium is now located belonged to General Nikolai Raevsky and his wife Anna Borozdina. On their initiative, a house, vineyards and an orchard were created there.

In 1885, Raevsky’s son decided to build a large estate on the site of the old house. The Raevskys loved their old house very much, so it was decided to create a palace in the same style as their old house. The project was carried out by the world-famous architect Karl Aeschliman. He brought several new details to the project, all of which the family liked. Construction of the palace lasted from 1885 to 1887. This is how the Karasan Palace was born, which you can see on the territory of the sanatorium. The Karasan estate was in the family's possession until the 1917 revolution.

The modern Karasan Palace is a three-story building that houses the administrative building of the sanatorium. The exterior of the building is very memorable: terraces, turrets, balconies, bas-reliefs, marble decoration, a large number of large windows, neat openwork arches, columns.

Inside, no furniture, paintings or other decorative elements have been preserved from those times. The Karasan Garden is interesting. The landscape gardening ensemble is made in the English style; the best gardeners worked on its design, and recommendations for arranging the garden were given by the directors of botanical gardens in St. Petersburg and Crimea.

Currently, the garden contains about 200 species of local and exotic plants. On the territory of the park there are several fountains (preserved from the time of the Raevskys), cascading stairs, ponds, green labyrinths, walking alleys and entire groves.

Palace of Princess Gagarina

Address: Utes village, territory of the sanatorium “Utes” (5 Princess Gagarina St.) Opening hours: 08.00-23.00 Mon-Sun (depending on the sanatorium’s opening hours) Cost: entrance to the sanatorium costs 150 rubles (but you won’t be able to get into the palace itself , since the sanatorium is operational) Phone number: (sanatorium information service)

The palace was erected at the beginning of the 20th century by order of princess of Georgian origin Anastasia Orbeliani-Gagarin, who was the widow of Lieutenant General Prince Alexander Gagarin. It was built next to the picturesque Cape Plaka, next to which is the Karasan Palace.

The palace is made in the Romanesque style with Gothic and Art Nouveau elements. It is decorated with turrets, narrow loophole windows and stonework.

The architect Nikolai Krasnov designed and supervised the construction of the palace.

Above the main entrance to the palace you can see the family coat of arms of the Gagarin princes and an inscription in Latin, which translates as “In ancient times, strength.”

At the time of construction of the palace, Anastasia Gagarina was 70 years old. She didn’t even have time to live in it, since she died the same year when the work was completed.

Now the palace building houses the administrative building of the Utes sanatorium. Guests of the sanatorium can only view Gagarina’s palace from the outside and walk around the park. The park has a large observation deck offering beautiful views of Cape Plaka and the sea.
