The cascades are located on the Dzhegosh stream in the gorge of the same name, which is why another name is Dzhegosh waterfalls. Around the gorge there is an oak forest in which interesting southern endemics grow, including boxwood and tulip tree.

Miracle beauty
The next waterfall place in the Sochi National Park in the Lazarevsky district is the Miracle Beauty tract. On a cold spring river about 10 km long there are three waterfalls, and two of them are open to the public - the eponymous Miracle Beauty (aka Laskovy waterfall) and Prokhladny waterfall.
Both cascades are most picturesque and full of water in the spring; Prokhladny is located upstream.

Sparkling Waterfall
The waterfall on the Hekuay River in the vicinity of the village of Thagapsh is more distant from the center of Lazarevskoye than other top waterfalls, but is still among those accessible to tourists.
On sunny days, a rainbow forms at the foot of the waterfall. In its vicinity it is worth visiting the Tiger Cave - and they are often offered together on excursions.

The tulip tree in Golovinka, Lazarevsky district, is a natural monument, planted back in 1840. Now the diameter of the tree trunk is about 2 meters, and its height is about 35 meters. To photograph the entire tulip tree, you will have to move away.
There are several legends associated with the tree, and there is an information sign and souvenir points next to it.

What to see in Lazarevskoye on your own
An independent holiday in Lazarevskoye should not be limited to the embankment and beaches: of course, many of them are very picturesque, sections of the coast also differ in their entertainment infrastructure, but attractions distant from the coast can be no less interesting.
Do not forget that Lazarevskoye has its own concert venue - the restored Center of National Cultures , on the stage of which famous Russian performers perform on tour.
In summer, you can diversify your holiday with walks around the resort, visiting exhibitions and street shows. A good entertainment option would be a photo excursion around a small wax museum. An alternative for active recreation enthusiasts is a lesson in a diving club.
With your family, you can find time for a cultural program: go to the Ethnographic Museum , dedicated to the history and culture of the Circassians-Shapsugs, as well as migrant peoples. Its permanent exhibition features over a thousand exhibits - historical artifacts, household items, clothing; the most detailed information about dolmens that can be found within the resort has been collected. After the museum, it will be interesting to independently, without moving away from the center of the village, find the remains of the fortress wall of Fort Lazarev on the right bank of the Psezuapse or, having secured a map of the area, go to see the megaliths scattered throughout the immediate surroundings.
It’s worth driving to Golovinka on your own to see the famous wide Tulip tree , planted in the mid-19th century. The tree is often credited with healing properties and has the status of a natural and historical monument.

Believe it or not
“Every person finds in everyday life what he is looking for and sees what he wants to see, i.e. expanding your horizons and worldview as much as possible. And each person creates his own individual inner world. But for the most part, everywhere, with the exception of individual talented and brilliant people (thinkers), the majority of people are looking for bread and circuses. And this majority (which includes the majority of officials, and simply “moral monsters”) does not care about the environment (because it does not immediately bear the fruits of profit), about a bright future, and this “crowd” lives by the principle “enough for our lifetime.” Which ultimately leads our planet to the final end - the apocalypse.
The development of any civilization lasts 10 thousand years. Pythagoras, Aristotle and other minds of mankind wrote about this. The death of many civilizations, one of which was Atlantis, is an example of this. The books “Bible”, “Koran”, “Chinese Book of Changes”, in their original source form, indicate the cyclical development of civilizations on the planet. It is enough that under the ice of Antarctica, at a depth of 4.5 km, there is a lake where dinosaur eggs are preserved. Believe it or not."
Whether he's crazy or not, believe it or not. But for me, in my memory, the Svir Gorge forever remained inseparable from the Lazarevsky Storyteller.
Where to go in Lazarevskoye with children
The Lazarevskoye resort microdistrict in Sochi is traditionally perceived as one of the main destinations for families with children on the Black Sea coast. Family tourists choose it for its variety of entertainment, clean, albeit pebble, beaches, convenient location - you can book excursions and travel throughout the Krasnodar Territory and neighboring Abkhazia.
Classic summer attractions in Lazarevskoye operate in the central recreation park - PKiO named after the 30th anniversary of the Victory , located near the coast. On its territory there are carousels, racing tracks, new extreme slides, shooting galleries and kiosks with cotton candy, without which it is difficult to imagine a family weekend in the park. In the coastal zone of the park, the main attraction in Lazarevskoye opened in 2012, quickly occupying the niche of a recognizable symbol of the resort - it became a huge Ferris wheel , the largest in Russia. During the season, vacationers manage to ride it several times: in closed and open cabins, during the day (for the sake of the panoramic view of the coast) and at dusk with beautiful lighting.
Another indispensable component of a summer holiday in Lazarevskoye with children is a trip to the water park for the whole day. In the season from June to September, the resort has two water parks with outdoor slides - Nautilus at the Market stop and Starfish at the Polyclinic stop.
A family visit to the Starfish Dolphinarium of the Tropical Amazon Oceanarium located next to it is an exciting program for at least half a day, and just as interesting for adults.
"Starfish"
Not all vacationers in Lazarevskoye know that there are not one, but two water parks here. If you are thinking about where to go with children in Lazarevskoye, we recommend visiting both. The Starfish water park is located in the very center of the city. There is another place nearby where going with your child in Lazarevskoye 2022 (as well as in other years) will be very interesting and educational. This is a dolphinarium. We'll talk about that too. The water park has a lot of entertainment for adults and children. There is also a children's playground here. There is also a playground where there are always a lot of laughing and joyful children. In the middle of the pool there is a bright “mushroom” with water running out of its cap. Children are very happy to stand under it to take a shower. There is a cafe on the territory of the water park. They sell many dishes for children. The bright design and aromatic smells awaken the appetite. Let's see what the prices are here. Children under five years old can travel for free. Until the age of nine, the ticket price will be 800 rubles. And for everyone else - 1000 rubles. Ticket prices are for the whole day. The address of the Starfish water park is Lazarev Street, 108 A.
Attractions in the vicinity of Lazarevskoye
The natural attractions of the Lazarevsky district are worthy of several well-thought-out routes.
It will be convenient to devote your first “forays” to nearby objects: on foot to get to the Crab Gorge (from the end of Kalarash Street - about a kilometer following the signs) or the Svir Gorge (800 meters from Svirskaya Street, the northern outskirts of the resort).
By expanding the radius of hikes to 10 km, you can add to the list of places: think over a route to the Berendeevo Kingdom park and the Mamedov Gorge ; go to Volkonka for the rare monolithic dolmen and the natural beauty of the local gorge , as well as the nearby waterfall.
A trip towards the village of Thagapsh (distance - up to 20 km) will allow you to collect such notable places along the way as the Aquarius and Igristy , the picturesque corner of the Stone Barrage , as well as the Tiger Cave .
One of the most popular and excursion-rich destinations from Lazarevskoye is 33 waterfalls , a famous natural attraction in the Sochi National Park , approximately 30–32 km from the southern outskirts of the village.
Sacred Lyran of Raevsky
The list of interesting objects is supplemented by the famous tulip tree native to North America. For the first time in our country, it appeared in 1813 in the Nikitsky Botanical Garden, from where General N.N. Raevsky brought seedlings and planted them in 1840 on the outskirts of the village of Golovinki.
The tree is huge: the height reaches 30 meters, the trunk diameter at the base is 2.4 meters, and the crown span reaches 24 m. Its scientific name is Liriodendron Tulipifera, or lyran, and this amazing miracle of nature got its name “tulip tree” from - for flowers that closely resemble tulips. The leaves look like small lyres. It grows on the banks of the Shakhe River. Since 1997, this amazing specimen has been included in the list of historical and cultural heritage of the city of Sochi.
Park "Berendeevo Kingdom"
Park “Berendeevo Kingdom”
This is already a natural attraction of the village. On the Kuapse River you can see a cascade of waterfalls. And the largest of them even has a name – “Berendey’s Beard”. It reaches 27 m in height. There is also a lake nearby with the positive name “Happiness”, but the most interesting thing is the stone dolmens, whose age is the same as that of the Egyptian pyramids.
Since the journey is long, a cafe will meet you right here in the forest and you can have lunch. And if you take your children with you, they will watch a show specially prepared for them with fairy-tale characters.
To capture memories of your vacation, visit the altar of the goddess Lada, who is the patron of the hearth, and sit on the throne of King Berendey.
Near the resort there is another attraction - Mamedovo Gorge. And if you have time, you can visit there too.
Where did the name come from
The name Yashkina Mountain, despite its rather frivolous sound, has a heroic history. In 1942, the Semiglavy Ridge was on the front line. Due to the difficult terrain, the delivery of ammunition was very difficult; vehicles could not get there. Therefore, the load was lifted with the help of pack donkeys, among which was a donkey named Yasha. When the soldier accompanying him died, he independently reached the front line. And at the same time he found the most convenient path, which they later used to lead the rest of the animals.
Vegetable world
The mountain is especially noteworthy for its rich vegetation and magnificent panoramic views. Alpine meadows begin at 1200 m, where you can find many useful medicinal plants. For example, lilac Christmas trees with initial letters, white branches of cherry, multi-colored gentian. Many of these plants are not found anywhere else and have been preserved due to the isolation of the territories; most of them are listed in the Red Book.
The natural fencing of the meadows are trees and shrubs. Here the traveler will find blueberries and honeysuckle, beech and birch, rowan and barberry. The tree canopy is formed by erythronium (dog's tooth), spicy saffron, and cherry laurel. Such a trip will bring many impressions that are unfamiliar to a city dweller accustomed to the hustle and bustle. The invigorating air, the amazing beauty of nature, moderate physical activity are a great opportunity to gain strength and improve your health.
The foot of the mountains is perfectly suited for placing a tent camp. It is also a favorite place for picnics, picking berries, mushrooms and medicinal herbs. The advantages of such a vacation are now appreciated all over the world - after all, it is not for nothing that the direction of eco-tourism is developing so rapidly.
11. 33 waterfalls
One of the most memorable natural attractions, 33 waterfalls, is located in the Dzhegosh tract near Lazarevskoye. A complex of waterfalls, 7 waterfalls and 13 rapids captivate the views of tourists, cutting mountain cliffs and gorges with water flows. For convenience and safety, stairs and railings are installed here. Even on the hottest day, it is cool and gloomy near the waterfalls. Huge boulders, drooping beards of moss and ancient ferns create a fairy-tale picture. The wild territory is inaccessible for excursion groups, but is interesting for single tourists. A popular route includes a visit to the ethnographic museum and cheese factory. Local winemakers will definitely offer you to try the intoxicating drink produced at local wineries.

Olympic Park
It is one of the tourist attractions left after the Winter Games in 2014
. It was located near Nizhneimeretinskaya Bay right on the coast. Now you can travel between sports facilities by bicycle, roller skates or other means of transportation, which can be rented nearby. There are many Olympic venues there and they are all interesting in their own way, some are open to the public: the famous Fisht stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies took place, numerous arenas for competitions in figure skating, hockey (Iceberg Palace) and curling. In addition, tourists are attracted by the singing fountain (the hour-long show starts at 19:30), the beautiful sea coast and embankment and entertainment Sochi Park. Every year Formula 1 events take place at the nearby track. Many stadiums are currently being converted to host World Cup matches. By the way, entrance to the park is free.

How to get there
By plane
The nearest airport is in Adler, the distance is about 80 km. The most convenient way to get from Adler is by train. The next most remote airport is in Krasnodar, the distance is more than 200 km.
If you are checking into a large boarding house or guest house, inquire about transfers from the airport.
By train
This is the most convenient way to travel around Greater Sochi.
Electric trains do not stand in traffic jams and depart strictly on schedule. Direct Lastochka trains run from anywhere in the Sochi region, Tuapse, Krasnodar and even Rostov.
"Swallows" are divided into two types - high-speed and ordinary.
Tickets for high-speed trains are purchased in advance, at least a few minutes before departure. But during the high season, tickets for high-speed trains with seats are quickly sold out, so you have to resort to regular flights without reserving a seat. Regular trains can be overcrowded, but you can buy a ticket directly on board. Most people are on the morning trains towards Sochi and on the evening trains in the direction from Sochi.
By bus or car
You can travel around Greater Sochi by car, but it is important to take into account two features. The first is spontaneous traffic jams. The villages are connected by one federal highway, which is very busy during the season.
The second feature is the mountainous terrain; not everyone can withstand traveling along steep serpentines.
Buying a bus ticket may be easier than buying a train ticket, but they are often booked several days in advance as well. Consider the bus as a backup option if you can’t take the train.
When is the best time to relax?
The climate in Lazarevskoye is very similar to Sochi. The most comfortable months, according to reviews from vacationers, are June, September and October, when there is no heat and high humidity. At this time it is better to come with children, as well as elderly people.
If you don’t need the sea, but just want to take a break from the hustle and bustle and take a walk in nature, then come in May. There are few tourists, and the weather is excellent.
We were in Lazarevskoye in October, at the end of the season. The sea was rough and almost no one was swimming. But many sunbathed on sun loungers and walked along the sea.
July and August are the peak season, and during the day the temperature often rises to +30°C and above. Sea water in summer is +24…+26°C, and in shallow water it can be even warmer.

The reason for the emergence of the village
A fort was built on this bank, and until 1854 there were military fortifications necessary for waging the Caucasian War. After its completion, both the village and the fort were deserted.
Lazarevsky’s new life began with the construction of the Novorossiysk-Sukhumi highway. It passed through the village of Lazarevskoye, the sea near which has always attracted residents of the surrounding areas, but access to these beautiful places was difficult. With the construction of the road, dachas began to be intensively built here. This was at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Now this is a well-known resort microdistrict of the city of Sochi, from the center of which it is located at a distance of 57 kilometers in the north-west direction.
The village attracts not only the opportunity for a full-fledged interesting recreation and treatment, but also the unique objects located on its territory. The sights of Lazarevsky deserve a separate story. Excursions in this area of Sochi are a huge part of the recreation industry.
