Ecology

Sibay, along with Mezhgorye, is recognized as the cleanest city in the Republic of Bashkortostan[4]

The problem of the ecological system of Sibay

There is one problem in Sibay - the destroyed ecology. Many Sibay media outlets are raising information on the topic of bribes and the collapsed ecology to the top line of the news feed. The news resource Versiya wrote that the residents of Sibay are “victims of modern genocide.” One of the most famous ecologists in Bashkiria, Mars Safarov, spoke about what is happening in Sibay: “Businessmen of Sibay sacrifice the health of local residents for the sake of profit.” After all, the extracted minerals also carry bad substances that are sprayed throughout the territory of Sibay.

History[ | ]

The name of the city goes back to the name of Sibay Abzanov, the first settler of the village of Old Sibay (Ataysal)[5].

In the period between 1844-1849, the village of Novo-Sibayevo arose a few kilometers east of the village of Old Sibay, on the Kamyshly-Uzyak River. In 1850 there were 12, in 1859 - 15 households and 88 residents, in 1866 - 64 residents[6], in 1892 18 households and 99 residents[7], in 1901 - 11 households, 83 residents[ 8].

According to legend, a hunter from the village of Old Sibay, while digging a marten hole, came across heavy red clay with pyrite sheen, characteristic of many copper ore deposits. At the end of 1912, a resident of the village of Novo-Sibaevo, Amir Abdulkasimovich Khudaiberdin, took several bags of clay and took them to Baymak to the managing director of the South Ural Mining Joint Stock Company A.F. Kabanova. Analyzes showed that it is brown iron ore with a significant content of gold and silver[9].

In 1913, the Sibay copper-pyrite deposit was discovered, and in 1915 an exploration shaft was drilled. In 1917, the Novo-Sibaevsky farm with 237 residents and 37 courtyards was mentioned. In the village of Novo-Sibaevo there lived 102 residents in 20 households.

During the Civil War, the mine was flooded and abandoned; restoration began only in 1925. Ore mining began and it was sent to the Baymak copper smelter. In 1925, the following settlements were recorded: Sibaevsky mine with one courtyard, Novo-Sibaevsky farm with 31 courtyards and the village of Novo-Sibayevo with 18 courtyards[10], which subsequently merged into one settlement. In 1938, Sibay received the status of a workers' village. On November 21, 1955, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, Sibay received the status of a city of republican subordination.[11]

Cinema Atmosphere

Not far from Victory Park, you can visit the Sibay Atmosfera cinema to watch some adventure film with various special effects. The cinema is located in the building of the large shopping complex "Zauralye" and is always full of visitors.

The creators of this building provided convenient conditions for the movement of people with disabilities. In front of the shopping complex there is a fairly large area where it is convenient to roller skate and ride a bicycle.

Location: Lenin street - 15/1.

Fountain

In the most radiant place there is a small fountain that follows the shape of the square. The bottom of the fountain is divided into square sections, and from each section one or two jets flow directly from the asphalt. They move from the edges to the center, forming an interesting composition. In addition, the jets rise alternately, sometimes higher, sometimes lower.

At night, the fountain shimmers in different colors, thanks to the presence of multi-colored light bulbs. During the day, children endlessly run under the fountain, exposing their bodies to the pleasant streams of water.
