People who are passionate about nature can visit the botanical garden, which contains rare plants. Among other things, this park is also a great place for children. The park has several playgrounds, including a large 5-section play complex.

“Old Surgut” is a historical complex located on the banks of the Saimaa River. 30% of the city residents surveyed recommend visiting it. On the territory of the complex you can see 14 houses built of wood. This is a reconstruction of old city buildings that were in different parts of Surgut, but now they have been combined into one architectural ensemble. The complex shows the city at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries. To get acquainted with the “ancient” Surgut, to see its simple, straight streets “face to face” is now possible only in historical and ethnographic studies.

The village has many attractions, some of which have been shaped by nature itself over centuries (Saimaa Park, etc.). Therefore, having arrived for 1 day, I highlighted for myself the main places that are worth seeing.

Surgut Museum of Local Lore

The exposition is considered the main historical institution of the city and region. Dating back to 1963, the Surgut Museum of Local Lore has managed to accumulate a large collection of exhibits (about 70,000 pieces) associated with the region from ancient times. Can see:

An exhibition with the sonorous name “Soldier of the Fatherland” is displayed in the room, where representatives of the Surgut Museum of Local Lore hold memorable meetings with veterans of war and local military conflicts.

The history of the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Surgut begins in 1992, when the foundation of the future church was laid. Now the cathedral is one of the most beautiful buildings, the main Orthodox building in the city.

The ski resort is located near the city. The resort is characterized by a variety of trails suitable for both professionals and amateurs. There are several hotels nearby and even the residence of Father Frost.

Saima Park

The forest area is an eco-oasis of Surgut - the “Beyond Saimaa” park, beloved by residents and guests of the city. There is a pine forest here, reminiscent of the paintings of Shishkin and Levitan. In addition, you can go to the park with children - there are attractions and a children's playground, an open garden and a mini zoo. A good place to take a walk on your day off.

The bridge connects the 2 banks of the Ob River. This is a work of engineering, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. The bridge span supports only 1 pylon.
