What to see in the Kirov region: best attractions

Most Kirov residents no longer think about what mayonnaise to buy when they stop at the shelf in a store. The hand automatically reaches out to our famous local products under the Zdrava brand. Why do we choose it? Everyone loves the traditional classic taste and consistent quality. At the same time, our “Zdrava” is loved far beyond the Kirov region - buyers in 10 regions of Russia and Belarus have been buying these products for a long time.

Mayonnaise has been produced at the Kirov plant for more than 40 (!) years. The Zdrava brand appeared in 2000 and quickly won the love of customers. A strict quality system, an affordable price - and Kirov mayonnaise has proven itself throughout the Volga Federal District. Following Zdrava mayonnaise, buyers saw the products of King of the Table and Olvi. But the plant doesn’t stop there and continues to surprise Kirov residents - mayonnaise “For Men” with a brutal combination of the flavors of hot Pasilla pepper and aromatic bacon, as well as creamy mayonnaise with delicate herbs “For Women” appeared on the shelves. Those with a sweet tooth will delight in sweet cream pastes with many favorite flavors – “Chocolate-Nut”, “Caramel”, “Chocolate-Caramel”.

Almost every year, the Zdrava holding receives awards for its products: “100 Best Products of Russia”, “Product of the Year”, “Food Contract”, the “Golden Haze” quality mark, medals of the All-Russian competition “Environmentally Safe Products”. For example, “Russian” mustard won the popular program “Test Purchase”, which airs on Channel One. Based on the results of popular voting and evaluation by experts, it was recognized as the highest quality among other brands. "Vyatka Switzerland"

Photo: DayraLi 12/21/2010

Every self-respecting lover of our region should visit there. A beautiful place in the valley of the Nemda River, south of Sovetsk, was called “Vyatka Switzerland” because of the rocks, caves, waterfalls and picturesque landscapes. This place is part of the Pizhemsky nature reserve.

What can you see there? The rock massif “Stone”, located on the right bank of the river, has long been a favorite of tourists and climbers. 8-meter Chasovoy rock, Chembulat, limestone Burzhatsky cliff, karst sinkholes, cliffs. The depth of the caves reaches 26 meters!

A little further upstream of the Nemda you can see the Beresnyatsky waterfall - the only waterfall in the Kirov region, which is a unique natural monument. Its height is 25 meters. This is an unusual phenomenon not only for the nature of the Kirov region, but also a rarity for the entire Volga region. The three-cascade waterfall is known far beyond the Kirov region, because a lot of tourists come here, at any time of the year.

You can get to “Vyatka Switzerland” by car: the Kirov-Sovetsk highway (138 km), then along the road to Lebyazhye until the turn to the village of Fokino, then on foot or by SUV to the information stand (about 3 km).

Medvedsky Bor (Nolinsky district)

This is a relict pine forest on sand dunes with the presence of forest-steppe animal species (tarantula, antlion) and more than 30 species of steppe plants (feather grass, paniculata, sand clove). Here you can find lilies of the valley, lungwort, and corydalis. In summer - the kingdom of strawberries and mushrooms.

The karst relief of the forest is clearly expressed: there are many sinkholes, sinkholes, and lakes.

This picturesque karst lake is formed by twenty merged karst sinkholes, hence its second name - Provaly.

The length of the lake is more than a kilometer, width from 50 to 120 meters, depth up to 14 meters. The water is amazingly clear, the bottom is sandy.

Artists V.M. I am. Vasnetsovs

The most famous natives of the Vyatka land and outstanding Russian artists are the brothers V. M. and A. M. Vasnetsov. Viktor Mikhailovich Vasnetsov is the author of world-famous paintings: “Alyonushka”, “Bogatyrs”, “After the massacre of Igor Svyatoslavich with the Polovtsians”. Almost everyone knows these paintings, and you can see them live in Moscow, at the Tretyakov Gallery. Slightly less famous paintings by Vasnetsov can be seen in Kirov at the Art Museum, which bears the name of famous artists.

The history of the Vasnetsov family has been known in the Vyatka land since the 17th century. Their family nest is the village of Ryabovo, where the family lived for more than 20 years. In Ryabovo, future artists received their first painting lessons, inspired by the surroundings of the village: fabulous forests, flowering fields, snow-covered expanses. Vyatka landscapes, the life and way of life of the people, legends - everything was reflected in the works of artists.

Ryabovo is located 150 kilometers from Kirov and 38 kilometers from the regional center (Zuevka). Every year the All-Russian Vasnetsov Plein Air is held in these places. They have long wanted to make this village a brand of the Kirov region. There are plans to build a hotel and cafe here to make the place suitable for tourism.

We have collected five facts about what our region is famous for

The history of the Vyatka region goes back many centuries, as evidenced by the large number of ancient mounds and ancient settlements. Interesting facts about Vyatka are still being discovered. Thanks to an article in our newspaper, the legal successor of the treasure , which was found in the Yaransky district, was found. The documents were in a sweet chest from the once famous confectionery factory of the merchant Yakubovsky in Vyatka.
We decided to find out what unique crafts, traditions and materials our region is famous for.

Vyatka kikimora.

Since ancient times, Kikimora has been considered a character from the Vyatka hinterland. The basis for recognizing the city as the birthplace of this fairy-tale character was the existence of Kikimorskaya Mountain in the city, as well as Kikimorskaya Street, which is now called Vodoprovodnaya.

And the story of the appearance of kikimora on Vyatka is this: Novgorodians left logs on the mountain to build a city, fell asleep, and in the morning the logs were already in another place. So they thought that it was unclean and that kikimoras lived there,” said Anton Kasanov, a historian.

Now in Zarechny Park behind Vyatka there is the residence of Kikimora Vyatskaya. This fairy-tale character lives there.

Procession.

The Velikoretsky Procession of the Cross was and remains the longest procession of the cross in the Orthodox world and one of the most crowded in Russia.

It takes place from June 3 to June 8. Every year, more than 20 thousand pilgrims from all over Russia and other countries equip themselves with tents, sleeping bags, repellents for ticks and mosquitoes and go with the revered icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker to the village of Velikoretskoye. On the day of the holiday itself, about 40 thousand pilgrims gather on the Velikaya River. The total route in both directions is 150 kilometers, explained the press service of the Vyatka Diocese.

Every year the procession is accompanied by rain at the beginning and end of the long journey, and when the believers return to the city, real summer begins.

Volkonskoit.

Volkonskoite is a rare clay mineral with a high chromium content. It was opened in 1830 in the Perm province. In the Kirov region, deposits are located in the Uninsky and Bogorodsky districts.

Green paint was made from “green clay”. It is distinguished by transparency, chemical resistance, and high light fastness. During the Great Patriotic War, tanks were painted with her,” said Tamara Vitalievna Romanchuk, director of the Geological Museum of Natural History.

Currently there is no mining of the mineral; its reserves are very small. The Volkonskoite deposit is a geological natural monument.

Wooden temple sculpture.

Sculptures are not very common in the Orthodox Church. The most famous are the wooden sculptures of the Perm region. But they are also found in our region. For example, the Sloboda Local History Museum houses 19 wooden sculptures - this is the only collection in the region. All of them were created in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

When the temples were being destroyed, someone took out the sculptures. Until the 80s, they were kept in the attic of the former Annunciation Church of Slobodsky, where the local history museum is now located,” said Sergei Mikhailovich Bushmakin, head of the museum’s methodological center. – When they began to prepare the exhibition in the wooden Church of the Archangel Michael, they took out the sculptures from the attic. It was possible to establish the place where some of them were brought from. Four are from the church in the village of Pantyl (Belokholunitsky district) and four are from the Annunciation Church in the village of Shestakovo (Slobodsky district). The origin of the remaining sculptures is unknown.

Kapa root.

Burl is a growth on a tree with a modified wood structure. Burl dishes were made in the Vyatka province back in the 17th century. At the Vyatka Folk Art Crafts Museum (Prikaznaya Izba) they talked about the production of products from this natural material.

In the 19th century, a blind peasant, Ambrosy Kovyazin, lived in Istobensk; he was a gifted man and a good carpenter. Once a burl box was brought to Istobensk. It felt different from ordinary wood - heavy, unusually smooth and cold. Ambrose was told about an unusual material - burl root. One day, after work, the master was resting under an old birch tree. Out of habit, he searched the area around him and by touch he discovered roots of unusual thickness. This was the cap. It is known that the royal family also had Vyatka products, museum staff said.

Although this craft has been known since the 17th century, most of the products that have survived are from the 19th century. In the Prikaznaya Izba you can also see the famous wooden clock of master Bronnikov.

Knitwear for the whole family "Trick"

For more than 10 years, it has been operating in Kirov as a manufacturer of knitwear for adults and children. This is one of the great local companies that brings many jobs to our city.

Buyers appreciate Trick products for the consistent quality of all products offered. Especially young mothers - after all, we want only the best for our children. At Trika you can find everything from rompers and caps to sports uniforms for kindergartens and schools, which, by the way, can be sewn to order at the company.

In 2011, a new production line “CHIK” was launched - with a priority of women's fashion knitwear (dresses, jumpers), as well as tracksuits. For the manufacture of clothing, high-quality knitted fabric from both foreign and domestic manufacturers is used.

In branded stores you will find not only your own products, but also products from the Cheboksary Hosiery and Knitting Factory, one of the largest enterprises in the Russian knitting industry, known throughout the country. In addition, Trick is the official distributor of Svitanak OJSC, the largest enterprise in the Republic of Belarus for the production of knitted underwear and outerwear.

All products in Trick stores are very popular among customers due to their quality, modern design and affordable price. Kirov knitwear is appreciated not only by local buyers - stores under the Trick brand successfully operate in Kazan, Perm and Ukhta.

Dairy products from Vozhgalsky creamery

OJSC "Vozhgalsky Creamery" pleases its customers with their favorite dairy products in new packaging. It has become bright and noticeable (in a pleasant light purple color scheme), but most importantly - functional. For example, cottage cheese will be packaged in flow-pack film, which prevents the product from leaking. And everyone’s favorite Vozhgalsky cheese will be packaged in small blocks in vacuum bags. There are plans to start packing cheese with a fixed weight of 300 g, which is not done by any manufacturer in Kirov. The logo will also change - instead of the abbreviation VMSZ, the name butter cheese will now be written in full. In addition, the plant will be pleased with new products. For those who care about their health and figure, they will produce light yogurt, without additives, with a natural taste. It can be used both as a stand-alone product and as a salad dressing. By the way, low-fat cottage cheese is also produced at the factory. Also, Vozhgaly will release a line of yoghurts in small dessert glasses with different flavors: strawberry, cherry, raspberry and blueberry. The weight of such yogurt will be very convenient - 150 g, just for a single serving.

All these changes will not in any way affect the cost of products on the store shelf, and for some items the price will be noticeably reduced.

Vozhgal products in new packaging will be tasted not only by Kirov residents and residents of the region, but also by residents of Perm, Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, Kazan and other regions. All these changes are due to the fact that in 2015 the management of the plant changed and a young and ambitious team of specialists took over the management. Now the main work of the management of the Vozhgalsky creamery plant is aimed at updating the enterprise’s equipment, which means improving the quality of products and developing brighter and more convenient packaging.

You can read all the detailed information about production at the Vozhgalsky plant on the official website of the enterprise.

Real ice cream KHK

Kirov ice cream is rightfully considered a national brand. Not every region can boast of producing natural ice cream, which is still prepared according to Soviet recipes.

The most important ingredient in real ice cream is milk. The Kirov cold storage plant uses whole liquid milk and butter. Perhaps this is why lovers of the cold delicacy note that KHK ice cream has that same “taste of childhood.”

The quality of Kirov ice cream is confirmed by more than 150 diplomas and medals from Russian and international competitions. Including, KHK is the only Russian ice cream manufacturer that received a place at the Grune Woche 2011 exhibition in Berlin. And Ermoshka ice cream was awarded the title “Taste of Quality” at the all-Russian competition “100 Best Products of Russia.”

Many guests of the Kirov region note the high quality of KHC ice cream. It has already been tried by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, chansonnier Willy Tokarev, Russian Minister of Agriculture Elena Skrynnik and other famous people.

Today the plant is actively developing, producing more than 120 types of ice cream. KHK ice cream is known far beyond the Kirov region. And recently the company got its own hero – Gosha the Penguin, who can often be found at city events.

In addition, excursions are held at the KHC 3 times a week. Anyone can see how real ice cream is prepared and waffle cups are baked! Only on excursions can you try soft, not yet hardened ice cream and a crispy waffle cup! All excursions are free.

Museum-estate of A. N. Bakulev

The historical museum of Academician Bakulev, which was opened in the village of Bakuli, Kirov Region in December 1991, is very popular. The museum-estate is located in the house in which the outstanding surgeon, scientist, and public figure Academician A. N. Bakulev was born and spent his childhood.

This place contains collections of crafts and rural household items, things of the Bakulev family, surgical and medical equipment, as well as various documentary materials. On the territory of the estate there are outbuildings, a bathhouse, a mill, an agricultural pavilion and a working forge.

Chain of sandwich shops "Danar"

Relevance and classics are two components of the gastronomic success of the Danar sandwich chain. In Kirov, a public catering network appeared back in 1996, when the population still had no idea about fast food, but over time, the phenomenon of food independent of time and place became popular among Kirov residents. For 20 years, the network has united all fans of delicious and affordable food. Today the company is represented by more than 20 retail outlets in Kirov and Kirovo-Chepetsk.

The “heart” of production is located in Kirov on Shorina Street, 18b, where the entire cycle is concentrated. It consists of several divisions: bakery, meat, hot shop and semi-finished products shop. At the procurement plant, products go from semi-finished products to ready-made dishes, and already at retail outlets they acquire the appearance to which customers are accustomed.

"Danar" was registered in the State Register of Trademarks and Service Marks as a trademark in 2002. At the same time, the active development of the Danar delivery service began, so that city residents could have a snack at any time and anywhere. In Kirov, the idea of creating a sandwich came from the East, the prototype of the danar is the doner kebab, its homeland is the city

Bursa, near Istanbul. In the East, the most popular sandwich is based on chicken.

The preparation of Kirov danar, which has become the main dish of the chain, is somewhat similar to the preparation of doner kebab. Layers of veal, pork or chicken, marinated according to a special recipe and seasoned with spices, are strung on a vertical rod, creating an even column. The meat is fried until golden brown, turning slowly. Then the cook cuts off pieces of fried meat, which are the main component of the dish. The peculiarity of danar is that it is adapted to northern conditions; the meat is marinated according to a different recipe, placed on a different bun from the oriental one and seasoned with original sauces.

The raw materials for preparing danar are provided by domestic manufacturers, who always pay attention to product quality. Qualified specialists monitor production safety, so the dishes of the Danar sandwich chain always meet the requirement: “A taste that is valued, a quality that is trusted.”

Springs and holy springs of the region

The Kirov region is one of the most “holy” regions of Russia. Before the revolution, it was called “The Land of a Thousand Churches.” This explains the large number of holy sources and springs that have miraculous powers.

Nizhneivkinsky mineral springs

  • Coordinates: 58.199611, 49.523056.

They were known back in the 15th century. Peasants from nearby villages considered their water healing. In the 19th century, a monastery was built next to the springs and the monks began to use them for medicinal purposes. In the 20th century, a hospital was built here, which today has turned into a real resort area.

Mineral water and hydrogen sulfide mud are used for health procedures, and a good microclimate contributes to effective treatment. Each source has its own unique composition and is used for different diseases. Today, Nizhneivkinsky mineral springs are included in the list of national heritage of Russia.

Spring under Sokolya Mountain

  • Coordinates: 58.161564, 48.347921.

Sokolya Mountain in the Kotelnichsky district is an amazing and mysterious place in itself. At its top there was once an ancient temple where people made sacrifices and prayed to their gods. And at the foot of the mountain there is a unique relict spring.

According to scientists, its age is tens of millions of years. The spring is fed by a gradually melting ancient glacier. The water in it is pure, without any impurities. Local residents consider it alive and claim that it energizes everyone who washes in the stream.

Holy springs Ajim

  • Coordinates: 56.740278, 50.276667.

S. Adzhim, Malmyzh district - is considered a holy place. Pilgrims constantly flock to it. It's all about the springs that surround the village on all sides.

The Holy Spring is on the south side, Isaevsky spring is in the east, Kuchansky spring is in the north. The Western Spring is located between Ajim and one of the nearby villages. The water in them has no taste, no color, no smell.

Not a single spring has anything to do with faith; they are revered equally by people of different nationalities. Although, according to legend, an icon of the Bishop of Amafunt, Tikhon, was found from one of them.

Kugersky spring

  • Coordinates: 57.101465, 49.858545.

The spring near the village of Kuger in the Urzhum region is called the Holy Key. And despite the fact that there are many springs in the vicinity, only this one is considered holy. After all, it was in it that Father Tikhon found the icon of the Mother of God.

He himself used the water from the spring to heal ailments and recommended it to his parishioners. Since then, the spring has become a place of pilgrimage and acquired another name - Tikhonov Spring.

Paint and varnish materials "Vyatkakraska"

For 17 years, experts from the innovative enterprise “Vyatkakraska” have been producing high-quality paints and varnishes. The plant is unique for the Kirov region; there are no similar enterprises in our region.

Over many years of work, the Kirov company has earned a reputation as a reliable partner, and Vyatka paint has been awarded numerous diplomas and is in demand in various regions of Russia. Geography is not limited to the Urals and the Volga region. Now paint produced in Kirov is used in the Kaliningrad region, Khabarovsk region, Yakutia and so on.

Materials produced by Vyatkakraska are used at the largest facilities, including buildings of the Ministry of Defense, large shopping centers, and sports facilities: the railway station in Kirov, the Jam Moll shopping center, the Perinatal Center, the industrial park in Vyatskie Polyany, the Kirov Meat Processing Plant, Food Zavod , rocket, Strigino international airport (Nizhny Novgorod), Kazan helicopter in Izhevsk, Perm printing factory Goznak, Magnit hypermarkets.

Fire retardant products occupy a special place among the materials produced at Vyatkakraska. Modern high-tech coatings undergo all necessary tests, are tested daily by our own laboratory and annually confirm their quality in testing centers. All materials are repeatedly tested in practice, because the plant understands that the cost of an error or defect in production is human life.

Vyatka rose from the World of Flowers store

More than 40 years ago, one of the most exquisite creatures in this world, the rose, was “tamed” on Vyatka land. This plastic culture was able to withstand northern winds, temperature changes and lack of light.

The tradition of growing the queen of flowers in the Belorusov family was passed on from generation to generation, and under the careful hand of gardeners, more and more new varieties appeared, not inferior in their beauty and aroma to their foreign “sisters”. And although not every small sprout survived until spring, the hardiest, most persistent, and therefore the most beautiful seedlings sought to give joy to their owner. After a while, plants accustomed to care and love are ready to succumb to any requests of gardeners, so in the World of Flowers salons there are dozens of varieties of Vyatka roses, which amaze not only with their color splendor, but also with their size: from 30 to 150 centimeters.

Vyatka roses grown in difficult conditions can decorate your home for more than one day. Bright green leaves and long stems, strong pink, peach and scarlet buds attract the eye, as if they were born not in the northern latitudes, but under the warm southern sun.

All this beauty is a few steps away from you and can only be found in the World of Flowers stores located in every microdistrict of the city. Have you heard about the Vyatka rose yet? The team of young, creative and purposeful florists of the World of Flowers store will not only tell you about its features, but will also help you create a luxurious living gift on the occasion of a celebration or significant event.

Healing Rainbow

The Vyatkabioprom enterprise was founded in 1992. It was based in a dairy kitchen, and its main production was products based on bifidobacteria and liquid probiotics of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli.

The first products for regular use by all age groups were “Bifidum Nezhenka” and “Bifidum Snezhinka”. Since 2002, all products began to be produced under the “Healing Rainbow” brand.

Bioproducts of the “Healing Rainbow” series provide the human body with the necessary amount of essential nutrients (animal proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, microelements). This is their traditional property, but due to the fact that they are enriched with living metabolically active bifidobacteria (Bifidobacterium longum) at the peak of growth, the products have a healing effect on the gastrointestinal tract and the entire human body. Bioproducts help maintain and restore normal intestinal microflora.

The enterprise was constantly modernized, production technology was improved. Later, liquid probiotics LACTOFLORIN and BIFIDOFLORIN began to be produced here. In 2004, the popular series of fermented milk products “Bifidum Lakomka” with various flavors was released.

Today, Healing Rainbow products are supplied not only to customers, but also to sanatoriums, health centers, children's health camps and preschool institutions, both in the Kirov region and in other regions.

The company employs qualified specialists who strive to improve the quality of products, develop probiotic nutrition for babies and expand the list of products to improve the health of Kirov residents.

The main thing that the Vyatka region is famous for is the Dymkovo toy, dinosaurs and very beautiful nature.
There are several nature reserves on the territory of the Kirov region. The most famous of them is “Nurgush”. This is a huge area of coniferous and deciduous forests, where rare species of animals and birds live. At the place where the Nemda River flows into Vyatka, there is another nature reserve - Pizhemsky. Locals call it “Vyatka Switzerland”, and for good reason. There are forests, caves, a rock massif favored by Kirov climbers, and the famous three-cascade Beresnyatsky waterfall, which in winter looks like the northern lights.

Among the unusual natural attractions in the Kirov region is Lake Shaitan with drifting islands, some of which float with their roots up. The largest of them can support the weight of several adults, but it is better not to take risks. According to legend, an evil spirit (“shaitan” - “devil”) lives in this lake, and when he gets angry, the water in the lake begins to boil. Water columns are indeed a common occurrence here, and many old-timers still believe in Shaitan.

Many folklorists agreed that Kikimora’s homeland is the Kirov region.

One of the legendary holy places in the Kirov region is the village of Velikoretskoye. This is also connected with the legend: in 1383, on the banks of the Great River, the image of St. Nicholas appeared before the simple peasant Agalakov, after which people in the village began to be miraculously healed, including Ivan, who did not get out of bed for 20 years. At the site of this miraculous phenomenon, they first erected a chapel, and then a little further away a temple - the St. Seraphim Cathedral. Since then, every year on June 6, all local believers gather for a religious procession to take the icon of St. Nicholas from the church to the place of its miraculous appearance.

The Vyatka Paleontological Museum is a must-see. For more than 70 years, archaeological excavations have been conducted near Kotelnich, where the remains of pareiasaurs continue to be found to this day. The museum itself is well equipped technically. In addition to the actual exhibition, there are interactive displays, virtual tours, and exhibits are equipped with QR codes.

In 1992, foreign scientists joined archaeological work at the Kotelnichesky site.
In Kotelnich, not far from the excavation sites, there is a “Dinopark”, where you can see life-size models of dinosaurs that fit perfectly into the local swampy landscape.
