The first discovery in this place was made in 1948 by teenager Ivan Bastrykin. Fire Tower
On the street Amurskaya in Blagoveshchensk there is an old fire tower. It was erected in 1914 by order of the then-current governor Nikolai Busse, who was seriously concerned about the safety of the city. Dormition St. George Monastery "Holy Bushes"
The most striking sights of the area include the Assumption St. George Monastery. It was built on the site of the Assumption Cathedral, destroyed during the Soviet years, with chapels in honor of the Blessed Prince George of Vladimir and All Saints and located around the convent. When the old-timers who remembered this learned that a spring had flowed at this place, they began to come there and pray. This is how the name “Holy Bushes” arose among the people. On May 24, 1998, permission was given to build the St. George Skete on this site. Monastic life resumed here in January 2003, when by Decree of His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II the skete was renamed the Dormition St. George Monastery. Now on its territory there is a magnificent temple in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God, more than a dozen houses-cells for the brethren, and several outbuildings. The construction of a stone cathedral with two chapels continues; bells have been cast for the belfry.

Monument to the shuttle
From the general list of monuments in Blagoveshchensk, the one that was erected to a shuttle - a small businessman - is often singled out. The tall bronze figure depicts a man walking with a large bag and carrying a suitcase on his shoulder.
The installation of this facility is of great importance for many representatives of the population of the city of Blagoveshchensk, which is due to the presence among them of small entrepreneurs who work on the shuttle principle: they bring goods from abroad and sell them locally, but at a more expensive price, on which earn their bread.
The traveling salesman depicted in the statue is presented in a rather intelligent form, which personifies those people who are among the intelligentsia, but at one point found themselves below the poverty line, because of which they were forced to engage in shuttle work, as happened with many “entrepreneurs” of a long time.
This monument is located near the Amur Fair building, in the area of the Department Store public transport stop. Its opening took place in 2008.
