Story

The history of Syktyvkar begins in the 16th century. On the modern territory there were Komi-Permyak people and there was a village called Ust-Sysola. Coat of arms

The coat of arms of Syktyvkar is presented in the form of a shield. A golden bear is depicted in an azure field. It is located on a green mountain with a silver spruce. The animal lies in a golden den. Above the creature there is a silver star in the form of an element of national ornament. The latter is made in the form of a slotted square rhombus with three rays.
