We begin the review from the southwestern region of Vladimir. “Friendship” has a lot: a large playground with steep slides and, as it seems to us, stairs too steep for a child, attractions, a racing track, a trampoline, an inflatable sphere in a pool of water.
But we will go further - through the entire park to the stables. Last year, the enclosure with the horses was surrounded by a solid fence. For a long time it was impossible to communicate with the animals, but now there are gaps in the fence through which the horses can look out.

While the children are busy learning about the animals, you can look around. This is one of the few places within Vladimir where the view to the horizon is not blocked by anything. They say the human eye was created to see into the distance.
After talking with the horses, you can go into the forest. The paths, if you don’t stop in time, will lead to Yuryevets.
Ivanova Boulevard
The eternal dispute about the emphasis in the surname of the artist Ivanov, after whom the boulevard in Vladimir is named, has already been resolved by the “Call”. Let's go for a walk along it now. Children, of course, like this place more in winter. There, on a natural hill, there are several ice slides. By the way, the slides do not end with a roadway, a fence, or a wall. And parents already like it.
In the summer there is also something to do in the park on Ivanova Boulevard. The territory, however, does not look very well-groomed, but there are a lot of bushes, shade, benches - this is again for parents. Children can be surprised by the huge size of the climbing frame.

They don't do this anymore in modern playgrounds. And this, most likely, a structure left over from Soviet times with stairs, horizontal bars, and crossbars will distract the child from gadgets for a couple of hours.
Ships on Tchaikovsky and Komissarov
While the Krasnodar region allows entry only by QR code, and Crimea threatens to close itself off from everyone, you can go on an imaginary journey on an almost real ship. It is moored on Tchaikovsky Street, in the park opposite the market of the same name. And it is a stylized children's playground.

There are a lot of children there in any weather and time of day. And this is an indisputable indicator of popularity. Having let your child in there, you can calmly sit on a bench and watch him climb stairs, slide down slides, hang on a rope, or swing on a swing.
There is a big “but” with this site: there is never any shade there.
The rubber coating also does not cool in hot weather. There is a "Magnit" across the road where you can buy ice cream, but it is better to go sailing in the evening or in cloudy weather.

How to spend one day in Vladimir with children
Forge a nail, launch a Foucault pendulum, color a gingerbread, make your own chocolate candy and learn how rockets fly: what to do with children in Vladimir if you only have one day.
The first point on the children's itinerary in Vladimir is the Borodins' forge-museum (Georgievskaya Street, 3g). In this creative workshop, young researchers can feel like real blacksmiths and even forge their first nail. During the tour you can learn more about the history of blacksmithing and the purpose of unique forged objects. And also - drink tea from a real samovar while waiting for your turn! It is better to register for master classes in advance. Be careful: the forge is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Afterwards, examine the Golden Gate, built in the 12th century, which once led to the princely-boyar part of the city. Take a look inside for a while - if only for the sake of a large-scale diorama dedicated to the siege and capture of Vladimir by the troops of Batu Khan in the 13th century, and a picturesque view of Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street.
On Bolshaya Moskovskaya, the central street of Vladimir, the main city attractions are concentrated, including those that will be of interest to children. At house 22 there is the Da Vinci Museum of Optical Illusions and Entertaining Sciences. The advantage of the place is that the price of the ticket includes the services of a guide - and parents do not have to rack their brains about how to explain to their child, for example, the principle of operation of Newton’s pendulum.
Little ones will love the ability to touch, twist, screw and press everything in sight. Don't forget your camera: there are a huge number of optical illusions in the halls, next to which you can and should take pictures (focus on the marks on the floor). The museum even has laser tag, the session lasts only 15 minutes.
Very close to the Da Vinci Museum there is a gingerbread museum (Bolshaya Moskovskaya, 40). You can stop by here for a while to listen to a gingerbread story - for example, about how curly gingerbread cookies were made in Rus'. Kids will be interested in a master class on painting gingerbread cookies - in the shape of a heart, bear, squirrel or fish.
After the tour, the museum hosts gingerbread tastings, but don’t get too full, because lunch will be waiting for us very soon. In the same building as the gingerbread museum, a chocolate workshop is open, where kids can briefly transform into young chocolatiers. Master classes here are held by appointment only and at certain hours - at 16:00 and 17:00 on weekdays and at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00 and 16:00 on weekends.
After such an active program, it was time to refresh ourselves. For lunch, stop by the Oblomov restaurant (Bolshaya Moskovskaya, 19, in the Torgovye Ryady building). This is one of the best places in Vladimir for a family lunch.
The next point on the program is the “Chambers” museum complex, which is located on Cathedral Square, between the Assumption and Demetrius Cathedrals, in the former building of the Government Places. There is a children's museum center inside, with interactive programs for kids and game rooms. Inside there are a dozen exhibitions that immerse you in bygone eras. These are “Old Russian School”, and “The World of Epic”, and “Journey to the Stone Age”, and “Walk through the Old Town. History in the faces”, and “Fun Fair”.
After visiting the “Chambers”, take a walk through the city park named after Pushkin, in front of which there is a monument to Andrei Rublev, an ancient Russian icon painter. Get to the observation deck overlooking Klyazma, where there is a monument to Prince Vladimir and St. Feodor.
And then return to Cathedral Square. Pay attention to the monument in honor of the 850th anniversary of Vladimir, which was popularly nicknamed “Three Fools” and “Three Lazy People”: at its foot sit three bronze figures - a warrior, an ancient architect and a 20th-century worker.
Continue along Bolshaya Moskovskaya Street. At house 66, in the building of the St. Nicholas Kremlin Church of the 18th century, there is the Vladimir Planetarium. It will be interesting even for those who are not interested in astronomy: the guides talk about the exhibits so interestingly that it is unlikely that even a single boy will refuse the temptation to become an astronaut.
The pride of the museum is the diorama of the Energia-Buran spacecraft, which reproduces the launch of the cargo vehicle with all the details. Also in the planetarium you can independently launch a Foucault pendulum, simulate a lightning discharge and see with your own eyes the Tellurium model - a moving model of the Earth, Moon, Sun system.
You can have a snack after observing the stars and celestial bodies at the “To-To” pizzeria nearby (Bolshaya Moskovskaya, 74). The food here is quick and tasty - and everything that kids love so much. The menu includes pizza, soups, pasta, salads and milkshakes. There are high chairs for children.
If after such a busy day you and your kids still have some strength left, then return to the very beginning of Bolshoye Moskovskaya Street, where the scientific and educational center is located (note: it is open until 20:00). Here inquisitive kids will get answers to hundreds of questions.
Why do sea shells hum? How do rockets fly? What objects does a magnet attract and what objects cannot? Several times a week, scientific shows are held at Eureka; their schedule can be viewed on the center’s website. On the territory, in addition to the museum exhibition, there is a 3D cinema with scientific films, a science cafe and a smart toy store.
For dinner, go to the Farfallina restaurant (Suzdalsky Prospekt, 8). Here, a special children's menu has been prepared for young gourmets - with not only delicious home-made dishes, but also beautifully decorated, in the shape of fish, cats and emoticons. As urbanists from “Vladimir of the Future” write, the city is very short of water. In summer, this shortage is especially felt. In a pandemic summer, this is downright painful. Therefore, when compiling this rating, we remembered Nightingale Pond.

There is also a ship there – it’s for children. Not so huge, but under the trees and near the water. There is also a path along the pond - why not an embankment? There are benches in the shade - these are for adults.

Planetarium
The mysterious world of stars and planets is incredibly beautiful. So that people can learn more about it, there are planetariums. Here visitors can go on an exciting journey through the cosmic world, learn interesting facts about the Universe and constellations (and even be able to see them through a telescope). There are models of spaceships and planets everywhere.
The main pride of the planetarium is a special apparatus installed in the central hall. You just have to look into it and set a route, and you will be able to study in detail the structure of each planet or enjoy an unforgettable view of the starry sky. Gardens at DDuT
The pond, and not just one, but a whole cascade of ponds formed by the Lyubedya River, is located in the old gardens between the Children's Palace of Youth and the White House. Right now this area is practically a forest. The paths are all people's, and in the rain it is very muddy here.
Future "City Park"
They promise to improve the gardens, the project is ready, they even came up with a name through joint efforts - “City Park”. But when will this happen? Right now is a great place to escape the heat. Due to the fact that it is practically a ravine, the coolness from the water remains in the park.
Here, of course, children will have to be closely monitored.
The place is wild, but if under control, there is somewhere to climb. There are dangerous bridges between ponds, ducks and even a small waterfall near a spring.
The easiest way to get to the gardens is from the street of the world, the Rodnichok stop, opposite the White House. Just be careful: there are mosquitoes and drinking parties here.

Fountain behind the White House
The old forgotten fountain behind the White House is not even a fountain lately, but just a container with liquid. The jets stopped turning on. There were also fewer people there compared to previous years.

The area behind the regional administration does not offer a variety of entertainment, but there are stones and water here - this is for children. The first flies perfectly into the second with a loud plop.

There is shade and somewhere to sit - this is for adults. If you are tired of throwing and collecting stones, you can go around the White House and take an electric scooter. The administration has excellent, smooth asphalt.

The city's coat of arms can easily be considered an ancient monument. The coat of arms was established at the end of the 18th century. This coat of arms was previously a sign of the family of the Suzdal and Vladimir principalities. The cross and crown appeared on the lion in 1672.
The lion appeared face to face in the armorial of 1672. It was this image that was used at the official approval of the coat of arms in 1781. During the Soviet era, they tried to exclude religious symbolism from the image, they removed the crown and there were intentions to change the cross to a staff.

If you ride a scooter to the city center, go deeper from Bolshaya Moskovskaya to Gogol Street. There, a little further away from the Princess's Monastery, there is a square where the sun's rays never reach. In the hot summer - just right.

For children, the park has an excellent modern playground with a high rope structure. It looks very interesting and relatively safe. Wary children will enjoy the small swings and slide.

Parents can sit on the bench. In general, have you noticed that the most common entertainment for parents in Vladimir’s parks is to sit? This is our city. For lack of anything better, adults have only two choices - sit or stand. And as you know, there is no truth in the legs.

More than 1000 m² for an active family holiday. On the territory of the complex there are huge trampolines, divided into two sections of 7 pieces:
- children's room - 63 m² with a foam pit and a small climbing wall;
- adult – 105 m² with an area for tricks and a professional net.
The complex has many sports games and quests.
Horse rides
At the Piaf equestrian club, 15 minutes from the city center, children and adults can enjoy nature walks, classes and horse riding lessons, as well as photo sessions with animals. Here you can ride horses, ponies or donkeys. Horseback riding is especially useful for young visitors, because... it develops body balance and all muscle groups of the child.

Another shady place is the square on Lenin Square. It was built several years ago behind the City Palace of Culture. One of the first large children's towns in Vladimir appeared there. Now there are three playgrounds for children of different ages and adults.

The very first one with slides, something like a climbing wall, stairs and horizontal bars of all kinds - for children who already play independently. Opposite the town there is a bench, however, this bench is one of the few places in the park that is always in the sun.

Nearby there is a playground for younger children: with a sandbox, carousel, and swings. By the way, there are swings there for adults too. The third area is training equipment. Suitable for both children and adults. There is a mini football field and a basketball hoop.
Architectural landmarks
Among the architectural attractions of the city it should be noted:
- Demetrius Cathedral , which took 3 years to build (1194-1197). It is dedicated to the heavenly patron of Vsevolod “Big Nest” Dmitry of Thessalonica. The main decoration of the cathedral, in addition to its forms, is the white stone carving.
- The City Council building was built in the 20th century. Its author is Revyakin Ya.G. Beautifully laid red brick masonry creates interesting external shapes. Here previously there were trading rows of merchants, then a city council and a house of pioneers.
- The historical museum of the early 20th century has historical exhibits dating back to the Stone Age. Authentic items from different eras are stored here.
- The Bogolyubsky Convent is a monument to ancient Russia. This is a large group of cathedrals from different times.
- Dormition Princess Monastery of the 13th century, erected under Vsevolod the Big Nest by his wife, Princess Maria. This is a very beautiful building where nuns still live.
Sports Square
This is for basketball players, football players and their children. The cage is located in a lowland near the Polytechnic College, not far from school 22. You can throw or kick the ball, but please note that the place is popular with athletes and may be busy.

Paradise for those with a sweet tooth
Almost all kids simply adore cakes, candies and other sweets. Therefore, they will be incredibly interested in visiting a chocolate workshop. Here, children will be told the history of the emergence and development of their favorite children's delicacy, and will also discover the secrets of Indian recipes for making it.
In the windows you will see unusual exhibits and all kinds of figures. There's a lot of stuff here: soccer balls, airplanes, cell phones, and cute little animals. The most important thing is that they are all made from chocolate. The workshop hosts master classes on making chocolates. This will be a great gift for relatives or friends.
You can also take part in the “Chocolate Workshop” program and compete for the title “Chocolate Master”. It is designed for 1.5 hours. At the end, a small comic exam is held, after which all participants will receive delicious souvenirs. By visiting this museum, not only children, but also adults will get a lot of positive emotions and taste different types of chocolate. The entrance ticket costs 300 rubles.
