Barnaul - the capital of the world
Even if you are not interested in entertainment, zoos and shopping, Barnaul has many beautiful places where you can walk and take pictures. The largest squares of Barnaul, well known to all local residents, are the Square of Soviets, October, Sakharov, and Victory. There you will find various monuments dedicated to famous personalities or significant events, and you will also see ancient buildings that are architectural heritage.

A little effort to get to the very top - and in front of you is a magnificent observation deck with views of Barnaul. During the Soviet period, from 1956 to 1992, the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy (VDNKh) was held in Nagorny Park. Now there is a park on the territory and the Church of John the Baptist has been restored. Along the perimeter of Nagorny Park there are terraces with walking paths and evening lighting.

Going down from the observation deck of Nagorny Park to the right, you can see the huge letters “BARNAUL” and the bank of the Ob River, as well as the embankment. Yes, unlike Biysk, it is here. The walking area, 514 meters long, is suitable for a relaxing holiday, walks and city events. There is a shady canopy, benches, an amphitheater, and catering.
Around the city - on an electric scooter
In Barnaul it is now “like in the capitals” - in several points of the city (mainly the center) you can rent an electric scooter. Download the application, add a bank card, select the one you like. Scooters have weight restrictions - no more than 100 kg. It is prohibited for two people to get on a scooter, even if together you weigh less than 100 kg. Carefully! The scooter can accelerate to 25 km/h. There are rental points near Nagorny Park, on Krasnoarmeysky Prospekt, at the Galaxy shopping center, on the Barnaul Arbat and in other places. For a minute - 8 rubles, and another 35 rubles - for the start of the trip. On the downside: car sharing is often more expensive than regular scooter rental. On the plus side: you don’t have to return to the starting point. The children will definitely be delighted.

You can also go shopping
Parents of teenage children also take their children to Barnaul - not to the zoo, of course. As a rule, the more developed retail network of the capital of the region allows young people to be inexpensively and variedly dressed - in Barnaul you can buy clothes from famous mass market brands, which, alas, will definitely never be in Biysk - Zara, Pull & Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka, H&M, etc. Prices for goods are no more expensive than the average in departments of this type in Biysk, but the models, styles, and selection are at their best.
So, right from the train station you can walk in 15 minutes to one of the largest shopping centers in Barnaul - Galaxy, where all the brands coveted by teenagers are presented, for girls there are NYX cosmetics (and not only) and here you can also buy real Converse and other shoe joys. For those who like to dress for little money, there is also a popular inexpensive clothing store called New Yorker.
Rope park
Extreme sports enthusiasts of all ages can test themselves on an extreme but safe rope course. Properly selected equipment and the presence of an instructor will help you spend an unforgettable day with health benefits, as well as take your mind off the bustle of the city.
