Lake in Abrau-Durso
If tourists still don’t know where Abrau-Durso is located, then the answer is simple - in the Krasnodar Territory. For those who are especially curious: this is a village, and previously it had the status of an urban-type settlement. Abrau-Durso acquired the status of a village in 1948, but it was canceled in the late 2000s. The settlement was founded in 1871. Now it is administratively assigned to the city of Novorossiysk.
Those who come to take elegant photographs should start their visit with the largest freshwater body of water in the Krasnodar Territory. Experts believe that the lake received its name before the locality, and it was already given to the popular champagne producer. The depth of the lake is 11 meters, and the total length of the coast is 3 kilometers. A walk along it is a pleasure due to the picturesque appearance of the forested mountain slopes. The lake does not freeze even in the winter months.
Fact : even experts do not have a consensus on exactly how the reservoir appeared. The most preferred point of view connects it with an earthquake that created a natural reservoir. The waters of Abrau-Durso are home to 15 species of fauna.
