    Massandra Palace

Many people love the sights of Yalta, which are worth visiting, and their prices are reasonable. Take, for example, the Massandra Palace. His story is interesting and fascinating. The architect of the complex, Maximilian Messmacher, made adjustments to the original plan, thanks to which the ordinary castle ceased to be a magnificent mansion for the royal family and Alexander III. Twisted staircases, open galleries, terraces and balconies became an expressive decoration of the palace complex.

During Soviet times, access to the once royal residence was closed. Later, the top officials of the Soviet Union rested here. After 1992, visitors were able to appreciate the beauty of the residence. And after that, the authorities decided to turn the Massandra Palace into a museum complex. Thus, the main exhibition is located on the first and second floors. All the features of the palace interior of the 19th century have been preserved here. On the third floor there are permanent exhibitions.

Visitors can purchase tickets separately for all exhibitions, or they can become the holders of a single ticket, which allows entry to all exhibitions and exhibitions.

Palace of the Emir of Bukhara

And what else can you see in Yalta, the sights beckon travelers. Those who have vacationed here before recommend visiting the Palace of the Emir of Bukhara. It is known from history that Nicholas II was friendly with Seyid Abdul Ahan Khan. The friendship was so strong that the emir acquired the territory above the Primorsky Park. So, he wanted to be closer to the imperial family, who vacationed in the Livadia Palace in the summer.

The Emir affectionately called the residence “Dilkiso”, which means “captivating”. The sophistication of an oriental fairy tale can be seen in everything: capitals, carved columns, loggias, belvederes, arched windows. The palace complex consisted of the emir's residence, a guest house, a park, and service buildings.

Excessive damage was caused to the building during the Great Patriotic War. In the middle of the 20th century, the building was reconstructed and converted into one of the buildings of the Yalta sanatorium.

Address and location : Sevastopolskaya street, 12/43.

    Livadia Palace

The 19th-20th centuries are considered the time of construction of many architectural monuments. Livadia Palace is no exception. It is located 3 km from the resort town. You can get to the royal residence either by public transport or by your own car.

In the middle of the 20th century, significant historical events took place here. Today it is open to the public. 58 halls present exhibitions dedicated to the Romanov family and the Crimean Conference. Art lovers can admire the fine works of great masters.

Each room of the palace is designed in a unique and original style. The White Hall, once intended for holding important negotiations, is especially popular.

Around the palace there is a magnificent landscaped park, laid out on the slopes of Mount Mogabi. About 400 varieties of trees and shrubs are planted here.

Address and location : town. Livadia, st. Baturina, 44 "A".

House-Museum of A.P. Chekhov - the interweaving of literature and history

In Yalta there is a lot to see and a place to go, so to get acquainted with the world of literature and history, you can visit the Chekhov house-museum. Here are 17 thousand museum objects that once belonged to the writer, his mother, wife and sister. The book fund boasts 450 publications by the writer himself, as well as domestic and foreign classics.

Visitors to the museum will see the original Chekhov furnishings of the living room, study and bedroom.

Every year the museum organizes Chekhov readings and announces new events, exhibitions and theatrical and musical evenings.

    Alexander Nevsky Cathedral

The project of the main Yalta Orthodox church was approved personally by Alexander III. White and pink tones were chosen to decorate the cathedral. Later, the two-tier structure was supplemented with a tent ring and open galleries. The bell tower is decorated with 11 bells; the largest one distinguished itself with 428 pounds of weight.

When visiting the temple, you can enjoy the contemplation of unique icons painted in Vladimir; an original mosaic depicting a portrait of Alexander Nevsky; gilded carved iconostasis made by Kyiv craftsmen.

Address and location: st. Sadovaya, 2.

    Armenian Church

At the beginning of the 20th century, the architect G. Ter-Mikelyan erected a temple of the Armenian church.
The unsurpassed structure is similar in its features to the ancient Hripsime Temple, the construction date of which dates back to the 7th-12th centuries. The architect decided to resort to an original embodiment of the idea: on the south side of the facade there is a magnificent arched entrance. However, it is impossible to get into the church through it. The actual entrance to the shrine is at the top of the stairs on the west side of the structure. It is decorated rather modestly, but all the elements of the exterior give the entrance lightness and originality. If in the post-revolutionary period the church escaped the “punishment” of atheists, then during the Great Patriotic War the church suffered significantly. By 1988, the temple was completely reconstructed, despite the fact that churches throughout the Union were being destroyed and closed.

Address and location : st. Zagorodnaya, 3.

    Embankment named after Lenin

Arriving in Yalta, travelers want to take a photo of the city and the beach as a souvenir, fortunately there are enough attractions. One of the notable places of the resort is the Embankment. Its length is 1000 m . There are many restaurants and summer terraces, attractions and shops here. Pleasure boats moored at the pier await their visitors.

    Pushkinsky Boulevard

Those who are tired of the city bustle and crowds of tourists can visit a quiet, shady alley in the city center. The name “Pushkin Boulevard” was given in 1887. It was that year that marked the 50th anniversary of the death of the great poet.

Conventionally, the alley is divided into 3 parts. The first areas are separated by flower beds and huge plane trees. The third part is divided by the Vodopadnaya River. The boulevard's alleys are connected by five bridges over the river. The pride of the resort is the snow-white gazebo, located in the middle of the boulevard, made in the Greek style. It was built in 1890 and decorated with forged grilles and decorative vases.

    Parks and gardens

    Nikitsky Botanical Garden

Your children will be delighted with such a rich collection of plants from all over the world. Here you can get acquainted with rare representatives of the flora, enjoy the gorgeous colors of flowers, bizarre tree crowns, and a variety of shrubs.

Experienced guides talk in an accessible and interesting way about all the “residents” of the garden. Interestingly, if you wish, you can purchase cuttings and seeds of rare plants.

You can visit the botanical garden in early spring, when thousands of tulips bloom on its territory. But the best time is summer.

    Opening hours: 8:00 – 17:00

    Address: Nikitsky descent street, 52.

It is convenient to get there from the Bus Station by minibuses No. 41, 42, 52, 55 to the stop “with. Nikita."

    Primorsky Park named after Gagarin

An ideal place for walking with children. The park is not only incredibly beautiful, but also healthy. Thanks to specially selected plants, the air here is healthy and clean.

You will enjoy the long paths equipped for scooters and bicycles. The picturesque singing fountain attracts attention, and lunch at the best Yalta restaurant “Colonnade” will be an excellent continuation of a busy day.

The park is open 24 hours a day.

    Address: Parkovy proezd, 4.

You can get to the Colonnade stop by public transport from different points of the city.

Where can the whole family go on an excursion on their own in Yalta?

Not only museums and cultural and architectural monuments fascinate tourists. Children and teenagers will be especially interested in visiting the dolphinarium, natural parks and museums, and the crocodile farm.

    Yalta Mountain Forest Reserve

The reserve was formed as a complex of historical and natural monuments in 1973. It is located on the main ridge of the Crimean Mountains. A significant part of the complex is covered with forests, although there are also treeless zones, for example, the territory of the Ai-Petrinskaya Yayla.

The protected areas attract tourists with many attractions: the Devil's Staircase pass, the Uchan-Su waterfall, the Three-Eyed Cave, the Ai-Petri Mountains.

You can visit the reserve only with the permission of the administration and during a certain period of time. During periods of increased fire danger, the reserve is closed.

    Wuchang-Su Waterfall

The natural memorial is located 7 km from the city. The name of the largest waterfall in the European part of the CIS translates as “Flying Water”.

The waterfall freezes only in very severe winters. At such moments, “Flying Water” literally turns into a huge garland of icicles. The best time to visit “Flying Water” is considered to be the period of snow melting, i.e. March, April. At this time, the flow becomes as full as possible. In May-June, during the rainy season, the waterfall does not lose its attractiveness. Some tourists were disappointed from visiting this remarkable place, since they arrived in the summer - early autumn. During this period, the shallow streams of the waterfall do not arouse interest.

Many legends are associated with the landmark. According to one of them, a girl kidnapped by a dragon wanted to return to people and save them from drought. So she turned into a stream of water.

Dolphinarium, or theater of marine animals "Aquatoria"

Both adults and children will get great pleasure from visiting the dolphinarium. The performance features a sea lion, a beluga whale, a seal and a walrus. The main performers are dolphins. After the performance, those who wish can swim with them, enjoy their presence and recharge with positivity.

    Crocodile farm, or Yalta Crocodilarium

The farm's pets are divided into thematic departments. There is even an inhabitant listed in the Red Book: the Cuban crocodile. Replenishing the population of this species is on the list of global challenges.

In a separate room there are cubs that you can touch and feed. However, farm staff do not recommend touching the walls of the aquarium with adult specimens, as they can rush onto the walls of the aquarium and scare tourists.

The Australian snake-necked tortoise is also interesting to visitors. When the reptile emerges from the water, it makes a terrifying impression. In principle, it passes when the shell appears from the water. There are several more varieties of turtles: European swamp, unusual pig-nosed, fringed.

The pride of the crocodile farm is a female tiger python. Its length is 4 m, and its albino coloring attracts the attention of visitors even more. She is paired with a male of classic color.

Address and location : st. Ignatenko, 1

    "Glade of Fairy Tales"

Where to go in Yalta with children that would be interesting for both adults and children? Undoubtedly, to the Glade of Fairy Tales museum, which is located not far from the Skazka Zoo. The local attraction invites tourists to enjoy the view of beautiful sculptures that have become the personification of foreign and Russian fairy-tale heroes.

Engineer-sculptor P.P. Bezrukov came to the resort town soon after the war to create such a miracle. By 1960, the museum was finished, and local residents nicknamed it “The Glade of Fairy Tales.” The administration of the resort town decided to demolish the museum. The indignation of the residents knew no bounds, so in 1970 masters from the Union of Artists of Crimea and folk craftsmen came here to restore the “Glade of Fairy Tales”. Thematically, the “Glade” is divided into Pushkinskaya, glades of Slavic and Foreign fairy tales.

The natural museum offers a wonderful view of the Stavri-Kaya rock and the trail to Uchan-Su begins.

    Zoo "Fairy Tale"

The zoo welcomed visitors for the first time in 1995. Animals were brought here from all parts of the world. I am glad that the animals are looked after and kept clean. Tourists can pet the animals, take pictures with them and even feed them, but only with the treats purchased at the entrance.

    Water park "Atlantis"

The hotel complex and water park with the same name “Atlantis” opened in 2015. The question “Where to go in Yalta with a child?” disappears immediately, since the entertainment complex is intended for family recreation. Its territory is about 700 sq.m., it is decorated with stone.

There is a separate pool with heated water for children. Children's delight knows no bounds, since mini-fountains, slides and snakes are located throughout the pool area (270 sq.m.). Children over 5 years old are invited to visit the Seven Seas aquadrome. Adults will enjoy relaxing in the Atlantic wave pool, which imitates the real sea.

Those who like to tickle their nerves should visit the “Extreme” slide and the “Centrifuge” attraction.

    Address : st. Kommunarov, 7 "A".

    Foros Park

Where to go with a child (if the question concerns original and unusual natural monuments) in Yalta? The answer is obvious: Foros Park. The history of the creation of the park is multifaceted and interesting. Representatives of the flora, unusual for this region, are planted here: fan palms, Babylonian willows, olives and laurel.

When creating and improving the park, experienced specialists advised the owner of the land, A. Kukhnetsov, to introduce and plant plants from America, Asia and Europe here. The inhabitants of the park are the rarest animals and birds.

The park territory consists of 3 parts:

    • In the upper part there is a forest with steep and difficult paths.
    • In the middle part there are ponds with snow-white lilies, rare species of fish, stone buildings, magnificent sculptures and beautiful gazebos.
    • The lower part of the park is famous for the sculpture of a man standing on a pier looking out to sea. Rare pine trees are planted here, which are not afraid of the spray of the salty sea.

Address and location : Foros, Forossky descent.

Yalta is not only a resort city where you can improve your body and spirit. This is a fabulous place where children and adults can have a pleasant time.

    Cable car "Yalta-Gorka"

Or the Small Ropeway. It's really small, but that doesn't make it uninteresting. On the contrary, children really love trips on it. The adventure begins with landing. The funiculars do not stop; you have to board them while they are moving. And even though their movement is very slow, little travelers really like this attraction.

This cable car is for stronger nerves. It is usually chosen with older children. The length of the journey is 3000 meters, and the end point - the top of Mount Ai-Petri - is at an altitude of 1150 meters. As it moves, the funicular makes three stops, at each of which you can get off and then continue your walk.

The views from the windows are the main reason why people visit the cable car. It is impossible to describe them in words. The dizzying heights and beauty of nature fascinate and take your breath away.

    Working hours:

    • to get up 11:00 - 15:30;
    • descent 11:00 - 16:30.

Where can you take the whole family if this is your first time in Yalta? Be sure to visit the Wax Museum, which is a branch of the famous St. Petersburg Museum. Within its walls is a huge collection of figures dedicated to famous politicians, athletes, world pop stars, historical figures, actors, etc. You can walk through the halls independently or accompanied by a guide who tells interesting stories from the lives of the “rich and famous.” Wax doubles are made with maximum authenticity - they accurately convey the weight, height and even facial expressions of their prototypes. The stylized knight's castle, located on the edge of the steep Avrorin cliff, was built by order of Baron von Stegel back in the second half of the 19th century. The original purpose of this building is not known for certain, but this did not prevent the Swallow’s Nest from becoming one of the main symbols of Crimea. Of course, small children may not find it very interesting here, although there are a couple of entertainments for them. So, young visitors will probably want to drop a letter in the swallow mailbox and tie a ribbon on the wish tree.

    Wuchang-Su Waterfall

Among the most popular entertainments for children in Yalta, it is worth noting a visit to the local waterfall, the height of which is at least 100 m. Uchan-Su, considered the highest cascade of the Crimean Peninsula, gains its maximum strength in early spring (after the snow melts or heavy rains). The rest of the time, the Wuchang-Su riverbed often dries up, so a trip here will be a waste of money and time. The river of the same name flows next to the “flying stream”, providing water to the entire city. For this purpose, a water intake structure was installed next to the reservoir, the top of which is crowned with the figure of a soaring eagle.
