General information and history of Nefteyugansk
If we proceed from the name of this town, saturated with black wealth, then this story should begin like this: in the three-ninth kingdom, in the three-ninth state, the Nefteyugans lived without grieving and made a living with money... But it will begin more obviously and truthfully.
In the heart of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug, on the banks of the Yuganskaya Ob channel, among the swamps, on the island for 46 years there has been a city that was originally a village of geologists. Often and with pathos, local officials and cultural figures say: “the history of our city is written in oil.” It is perhaps impossible to disagree with this: after all, the only reason why the young, energetic and courageous ancestors of the Nefteyugans decided to settle here was the black emulsion.
Old photo of Nefteyugansk
So, on December 18, 1962, a fountain erupted from well R-63 with a daily oil flow of 800 tons. And then things started to happen - they learned about the small village not only in the Tyumen region, but throughout the USSR. And the helicopters flew, active water communication began.
Modern Nefteyugansk. Photo by Pavel Girin
The first romantics came here for only three years, thinking of earning money and returning to their homeland. Frankly, even now, most visitors think the same thing. But it’s not for nothing that Nefteyugansk grew up in a swamp - the small, quiet northern city became the second home for most of those Komsomol members, strong families were built here and their children and grandchildren were born. The calm and measured life on the island sucked them in.
Climate and ecology of Nefteyugansk
Yes, Nefteyugansk is definitely a city for frost-resistant people! Winter here sometimes lasts 8 months a year: snow falls in October and melts extremely slowly, snowdrifts in the city can be seen even on the May holidays... Swift autumn, long spring and several hot weeks of summer. In winter, on average, thermometers range from −20 to −30 degrees Celsius. Summer is no longer predictable; from June to August it can be comfortable (+20) or maybe scorching hot (+33).
City administration building in winter
The environmental situation in the city is mainly dictated by cars - there are no other air pollutants in Nefteyugansk itself. The main industry in which the city lives is oil and gas production. Accordingly, these workshops cause damage to the environment, but there are only a couple of them near the city.
A sadder situation with water. More precisely with its cleaning. Visitors jokingly say that oil flows from the tap here. Local residents are no longer laughing. We’ve lost count of how many times the Nefteyugans were promised “clean water,” how many millions of rubles have flowed into unknown places, but there is still no treatment plant or replacement of pipelines. Therefore, one of the most important household items in apartments is a water filter.
Such water is not uncommon in the apartments of Nefteyugans
Historical reference
In mid-1961, the first geologists landed on the shore, and in October the first oil gusher was discovered. The village was formed and began to grow rapidly, and in 1967 it already received city status.
The city of Nefteyugansk is largely represented by the Russian population; in the mid-70s and 80s, many Bashkirs and Tatars came here.
More than 60% of Russians live here, Tatars - about 10%, Ukrainians - about 5%, Bashkirs - slightly less, about 2.5%.
Population of Nefteyugansk
Despite the frosts and the distance from the center of Russia, there are consistently many people who want to join the ranks of Nefteyugans every year. Mostly graduates of oil universities and colleges go north to buy long rubles. To attract young specialists, the city-forming enterprise LLC RN-Yuganskneftegaz has developed support programs, for example, recently, all newly recruited oil workers receive rooms in a new apartment-type dormitory, where they can live for three years for a symbolic payment for housing and communal services. Then they can count on a subsidy from the oil company for the purchase of housing.
But only young specialists of this enterprise are so lucky. Judging by the fact that there is a large shortage of doctors and teachers in the city, there are no special conditions in the city for graduates of such specialized universities. In general, Nefteyugansk is considered to be a young town; the average age of Nefteyugansk residents is 33 years. Therefore, many young families and more babies are born every year.
According to statistics at the beginning of 2014, almost 126 thousand people live in the city. But this is the official figure. In fact - more. This unregistered increase is mainly made up of illegal immigrants from neighboring countries and from the North Caucasus region, who also come here to work. And yes, this legendary photograph, which has spread all over the internet, was taken precisely on the city square of Nefteyugansk.
The photo was taken on the central square of Nefteyugansk, near the fountain and the Yugan cinema.
A Siberian man who tried to hijack a plane claimed his role in the September 11 terrorist attacks.
One of the flight attendants said that the passenger who demanded that the plane flying to Moscow be turned back to Afghanistan said that he was involved in terrorist attacks in the United States.
The court in Khanty-Mansiysk arrested the unlucky hijacker for two months. The Khanty-Mansiysk district court arrested 41-year-old Pavel Shapovalov, accused of attempting to hijack an Aeroflot plane, for two months, this was reported on the Investigative Committee’s WhatsApp channel.
The investigation asked to take Shapovalov into custody due to the particular danger of his actions and their high resonance.
During the court hearing, at which the issue of choosing a preventive measure for the unlucky hijacker was considered, the judge, reading out the case materials, said that Shapovalov frightened the plane crew with his involvement in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 in the United States. On this day, extremists hijacked four planes, two of which crashed into the World Trade Center towers, a third into the Pentagon, and a fourth crashed in Pennsylvania.
“The flight attendant on the Surgut-Moscow flight said that Shapovalov said that he was involved in the September 11 terrorist attacks, asking to change course to Afghanistan,” the judge read out an excerpt from the case materials (quoted from RIA Novosti).
During the hearing, Shapovalov's lawyer asked to place his client under house arrest or take a written undertaking not to leave the place, but the court did not heed this request.
The incident with an attempt to hijack a plane flying from Surgut to Moscow occurred on the afternoon of January 22. According to investigators, one of the passengers demanded that the plane be turned around and sent to Afghanistan. The plane made an emergency landing at Khanty-Mansiysk airport, where the man was detained. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Later, the Investigative Committee published on YouTube a video of the interrogation of the accused in the attempted theft. In the recording, suspect Pavel Shapovalov, in response to the investigator’s question about why the passenger demanded to fly to Afghanistan, stated that “not everything is as simple as it seems at first.” “To be honest, I didn’t need to go there [to Afghanistan] at all,” he said.
The Investigative Committee's report notes that during the search of the accused and the inspection of the aircraft, no explosives or weapons were found. No traces of narcotic or psychotropic substances, or alcohol, were found in Shapovalov’s blood. The accused has been assigned a psychological and psychiatric examination.

Districts and real estate of Nefteyugansk
Nefteyugansk is not particularly architecturally diverse. Five-story buildings from the 70s, 80s, and 90s predominate. But, as in any city, there is a separate new microdistrict with new buildings. In general, the concept of streets in Nefteyugansk is purely symbolic; of course, there are Lenin, Mira, and Molodezhnaya streets. But in the address line you will more often see the abbreviation “microdistrict.” We'll tell you more about the microdistricts.
Let's start from the center. Here, as expected, are the oldest houses in the city. Microdistricts 1,2,3 are built up with houses of the Ural and Leningrad type of layout. Soviet dormitories are still preserved here. Despite the seemingly prestige of the center, housing here is cheaper than on the outskirts of the city, in new microdistricts. Obviously this is determined by the age and condition of the buildings. But, if you rent housing in this area, it will be difficult to find a price tag cheaper than 20 thousand per month for a one-room apartment. The “center” housed the administration of the city, district, the main office of the city-forming oil company, a cinema, a sports complex, a shopping complex and shops. There are also schools and kindergartens inside the neighborhoods.
Residential neighborhoods in the city center
Also, geographically in the center there are 4, 5, 6 and 7 microdistricts. It would be logical to assume that the land here is the most expensive and, accordingly, the housing is elite. But it was not there! These microdistricts, with the exception of the 5th, are like a thorn in the face of Nefteyugansk. Old wooden two-story buildings, which were built as temporary housing, are sold and passed on to this day. There are also downright abandoned houses favored by homeless people. In general, city residents consider the area to be disadvantaged, both because of the quality of housing and public services and because of the large number of emigrants. On the plus side, there are kindergartens and schools inside the microdistricts, in 5 microdistricts. adult clinic, 7 microdistrict. central city hospital (hospital campus).
Wooden two-story buildings in the city center
There are also residential areas in the city - old, but quite suitable for living. For example, 8, 8a, 9 and 10 microdistrict. The housing here is varied - there are apartments with Leningrad, Ural, Saratov and Volgograd layouts. The houses are on average 30 years old, but the infrastructure of the neighborhoods is quite comfortable. Schools, kindergartens, shops and banks are within walking distance. The average cost per square meter of housing in the city is constantly growing, but in these areas you can find an apartment at a very reasonable price.
8 microdistrict Nefteyugansk
12, 13 and 16,16a microdistricts are also stable residential areas, if such a division can be resorted to in such a quiet town. The age of residential buildings here ranges from completely new buildings to houses with an experience of 30 years.
16a microdistrict
The infrastructure of the microdistricts is well developed, with several kindergartens, schools, a gymnasium, a children's and adult clinic, dentistry, banks and shops. There are cozy and modern playgrounds in the courtyards.
Adult clinic in 16 microdistrict.
True, like in many other residential areas, there is a lack of parking spaces. But there are 2 parking lots. The cost per square meter of housing here is already higher, according to recent estimates, about 60-65 thousand rubles. Yes, prices in this province are wow! But at the same time, the demand for housing is growing every year.
12 microdistrict
And now, we have reached the most delicious blocks from the point of view of developers - 14,15 and 17 microdistricts. 14 has existed the longest, but it was built not so long ago. A huge plus is that the houses have an attractive Tyumen layout, with large rooms. As a rule, mostly young people live in these microdistricts, since buying new housing has been profitable for several years according to the district program to support young families.
14 microdistrict
15 microdistrict is a completely new building, the age of the houses does not exceed 10 years. Construction continues to this day, so it’s not particularly cozy inside yet - in some places there are no roads, puddles, sand and little vegetation. But in the future, this area must change. Here the price per square meter continues to increase.
Separately, it is worth noting the cottage community located here. Nefteyugans call these two small streets with private palace houses “the valley of the poor,” not without irony, of course. Not a poor person can afford a house in such a place; they say that such apartments cost from 20 million rubles. In the opinion of the average person, there are no particular advantages to the location, except for the status of an elite quarter. And so, this is still a city, and this is a coastal part, with strong winds, and in the summer there are hordes of midges, mosquitoes and wind with sand. But why should we, mere mortals, delve into the intentions of the powers that be?
"Valley of the Poor" in 15 microdistrict.
17 microdistrict So far, it exists only on the general plan of the city; work to prepare for construction has recently begun here, but legends about the future of this residential corner are already in the air. The modern district will be called “Vladimirsky”, in honor of the late mayor of Nefteyugansk Vladimir Petukhov. The residential complex will be built using the latest modern technologies and it is clear that such pleasure costs a lot. Not long ago, information appeared, not yet official, that apartments would be sold at the rate of 100 thousand rubles per 1 square meter. Nefteyugans are already grumbling that it is easier to buy a three-ruble ruble in a big city than a one-room apartment here.
Project 17 microdistrict. Nefteyugansk
You might have the false impression that Nefteyugansk is dominated by the elite private residential sector. No, this is not true at all. The large district - 11,11a, 11b, the villages in whose names “SU”, and the legendary “Zvezdny” - are complete confirmation of this.
P. Zvezdny in Nefteyugansk
Here you can find old, unsafe, two-story wooden buildings, phenolic houses destined for demolition, private houses that in the north are called “beams” and quite nice two-story brick apartment buildings. Traditionally, these areas are considered disadvantaged, with stray dogs running around the streets, a large number of emigrants, and drug addicts. Although there are quite a few ordinary families with average incomes who, by the will of fate, ended up here. Although builders are not giving up on this area, residential development is now actively underway in microdistrict 11b, a school and a kindergarten are being built.
Some Nefteyugans have been waiting for decades to be resettled from such housing.
Also in Nefteyugansk there is a fairly large industrial zone, in which a large number of different enterprises are located.
The vice-mayor of Nefteyugansk was detained while buying a new foreign car
From the car dealership - on a paddy wagon. A visit to buy a new car for the vice-mayor of Nefteyugansk ended in detention. Instead of keys from the manager, Elena Abramova received a detention report from investigators. It all turned out to be a generous donor. Who did he turn out to be and what was the gift for?
The joy of buying a brand new snow-white car for Nefteyugansk Vice-Mayor Elena Abramova was overshadowed by the capture group. In operational footage, the official, instead of checking the comfort of the seats and upholstery, polishes the fender of the vehicle with her body.
Abramova was detained by employees of the regional department of the Investigative Committee and the Tyumen department “E” of the FSB of Russia. At this moment, as investigators believe, her accomplice, a major local businessman Bogdan Bogoslavets, gave the official a million rubles to buy a car.
Before this, a generous Siberian businessman gave Abramova jewelry. The official, in turn, allegedly helped the entrepreneur obtain a lease for territory within the city. Both Bogoslavets and Abramova were in the development of the security forces for more than a year.
– The bribe giver and the bribe taker were charged under paragraph “c” of part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Receiving a bribe on a large scale”), as well as the general director of one of the commercial enterprises – under paragraph “b” of part 4 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“ Giving a bribe on a large scale”), says Denis Voloshchenko, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra.
Abramova is an influential person in the region; she herself was involved in business in the past. For the last few years, the spectacular blonde has been coordinating the sphere of urban planning and land relations in the administration of Nefteyugansk.
Sitting in a leatherette chair, she discussed the financial costs of reconstructing a local bakery, striking the imagination of her listeners with the size of her ring.
– We managed to take out loans and accumulate such an unaffordable amount.
Bogdan Bogoslavets is a well-known businessman in Siberia. According to open sources, he owns a number of companies involved in logging and construction.
Bogoslavets was elected to the Tyumen Regional Duma three times. He appeared on local TV channels with enviable regularity: he planted trees on camera, cut red ribbons, and opened Christmas trees.
– In his soul, a person already understands that Santa Claus is a fictional figure. But still, you always want a fairy tale to make your soul feel good,” said Bogdan Bogoslavets.
The description of the property of the former people's choice hardly fits on two pages.
According to the declaration for 2022, Bogoslavets earned more than 147 million rubles. He owns 67 plots of land, three spacious residential buildings, several apartments, and 12 non-residential premises. In addition, there are 15 meters of gas pipeline, two dead-end railways, a crane runway, a switch ramp, and more than a kilometer of road. The fleet of vehicles belonging to the ex-deputy deserves special attention: three Urals, two KrAZs, four KamAZs, two loaders, four tractors, six excavators, as well as a snowmobile, an all-terrain vehicle and four caravans.
- Well, that's okay. I think voters will understand. And everyone will understand.
Security forces conducted searches in the administration of Nefteyugansk and at the home addresses of the defendants.
According to local media reports, Abramova has not yet been officially dismissed from her post as vice mayor.
But both the official and the large businessman will have to adapt to new realities and new conditions. Both will spend the next two months in pre-trial detention.
City infrastructure
As for public services in the city, they are at an average level. As mentioned above, the main problem of the townspeople is the lack of clean water in the pipes. Most urban apartments use electric stoves, much less often gas stoves. The heating season generally starts on time. Major disruptions in the supply of cold and hot water or power outages are exceptions rather than the rule. The average rent bill for a two-room apartment for a family of 4 people is 5,500-6,000 thousand. Internet in the city is quite expensive and slow.
Continuing the topic of traffic - there are traffic jams in Nefteyugansk. True, they are formed exclusively during rush hours, i.e. in the morning, lunchtime and evening. The average time to get through traffic jams is 15-20 minutes, but sometimes it can be longer. Almost every Nefteyugansk family has a car, and young families often have two iron horses.
The condition of the roads is the same as in all Russian provincial towns - there are potholes and patches, but in some places the road is quite good. The cost of a taxi in the city is 80 rubles, in remote areas and industrial zones - 100 rubles. There are city buses and private minibuses. They move almost according to schedule. Nefteyugansk does not have a railway station or an operating airport. Although there was once an airport.
The so-called “Baby Boom” that has reigned in Nefteyugansk over the past 10 years has brought the queue for kindergartens almost to the point of absurdity. It is very difficult to get into a kindergarten in Nefteyugansk by the age of three, so many parents are forced to resort to the services of nannies and private kindergartens. However, preschool institutions are being built, and perhaps someday the queues in Nefteyugansk will become smaller - we’ll see.
School number 2
The number of schools in the city is sufficient, almost all of them are of the same level, but there is also a lyceum. It is also quite possible to get higher and secondary education in the city - there is an institute, a college and a college. A large number of branches of universities in the country have also been opened. The only thing that is difficult to get in Nefteyugansk is quality medical care. Although this industry is regularly financed from the city and district budgets. There are simply not enough doctors in the city, or rather specialized specialists. This is probably why people often learn about the city from high-profile investigations and publications with headlines like “doctors killed a child.”

The city is not bad, BUT over the last 7-10 years there have been a lot of Caucasians, which creates a lot of problems: arrogant, boorish people behave recklessly (young people) I would like their parents to explain to them that they need to behave politely and culturally not only in their own Caucasus but and where you live at the moment, 90% of accidents on the road are caused by them. Over the past 5 years, Tajiks and Uzbeks have been added. In the 70s-90s, the water flowing from the tap was brown; dirty water now is of course better in color and smell, but of course it cannot be compared with the mainland. There is nowhere to go in the city, there is nothing at all... Work, a house, if there is a dacha, then this is an outlet... The city has no owner and this is not a secret. Salaries are a penny, 25-30 thousand rubles. and this is in the north. I'm not talking about RN. The roads are normal and no worse than in other cities. The local people are kind, polite, responsive and we stick to that...

Don't know. I couldn't get used to this city. I was especially “impressed” by the water. Not to mention drinking it, such water is not acceptable for me even for domestic purposes. Like a swamp. The snow in the yards in winter was also amazing. Probably local utilities are just waiting for spring, when it breaks up on its own. Lots of Caucasians. But the rest of the city is just like a city. Good people live there (locals). The newcomers are a more complex people, not as open and friendly as the Northerners.

I would like to leave a negative review about this not entirely pleasant establishment “Empire”. I was there with a small group last weekend. To say it's bad is an understatement. Behind the bar counters, the service staff is like dying swans, not a smile on their face, arrogant looks and a generally dismissive attitude. They have always been famous for stealing money from wardrobes, and they continue to do so. So be careful!!!! And you don’t have to talk about the Soviet-era situation at all, in general, as in all establishments owned by Semenov)). Fairy tale, sail, empire sucks. Shame on you!!!!

Nice city, small but cozy. I haven't moved yet, but I'm thinking about it. There is plenty of entertainment. The Aquamarine water park is very cool, I went there with friends, it was cool and fun. The slides are quite epic)
FORMER
a city without summer and spring. Eternal gray sky, basically, life from paycheck to paycheck, there is no cultural life, according to information from friends, when you return from vacation in the summer, in the area of Salym there is already depression, from dullness. the water is just a nightmare, because... highways are a hundred years old at lunchtime. Muscovites have occupied all important places, there are no salaries, housing and communal services are on guard, renting an apartment is very expensive... housing is getting cheaper because... many are leaving while there is still some way to get an apartment. Oil workers have completely poisoned the entire environment.

Good day to all Nefteyugans! I myself am from the Bryansk region. Having looked through your notes and reviews about living in Nefteyugansk, I propose to consider the Bryansk region as normal, comfortable living and possible progress, since the location is near Europe, the territory is between Belarus and Ukraine. It’s warm in the summer, everything grows, from a good potato harvest to the full ripening of watermelons, melons, apricots, etc. Opportunity to work with farmers, pay from a thousand rubles a day, housing can be purchased inexpensively, many abandoned houses, a gas pipe is present. Young people, of course, have nothing to do, but those who want to have their own farm have only advantages. Chubkovichi village, Bryansk region, Starodubsky district. Welcome, there's room for everyone. PS Why am I contacting you because I have a friend from Nefteyugansk. He is very positive, efficient, honest, hardy, etc. Or maybe because he is a Siberian?!

I’ve lived here since birth, for 36 years now, I like the city (for patriotic reasons), but every year my love for it cools down. I want to leave, I choose where... The water will remain dirty, they have stopped cleaning the roads, there is already no place for parking in the yards, they will also shovel the snow into a pile where it was possible to park and will not remove it for months. A lot of people in red moccasins. It was always cold. In summer there are a lot of mosquitoes. The long ruble, which used to cover all these shortcomings, no longer smells here for a long time. The apartment has a mortgage for another 13 years. I work in an oil service company that is about to go under. You can get a job in the RN, but only on shifts. It is generally impossible to work with RN, all services provided are paid for within 2 months, otherwise the contract cannot be concluded. I plan to go on an excursion this spring in search of another city for permanent residence. It’s a pity to leave my homeland, my poor little town, but I feel even more sorry for myself. Maybe the children will say thank you...

I met my wife in Nefteyugansk and have now lived here since 2007, the city is not bad in principle, but there is nothing here for children, in general, with work only on shifts, if the salary is more than normal and then either drilling or production, salaries are average, prices are high, Housing and communal services are generally crazy, in general, who cares, I’ll take my family away from here soon, and for those who praise this city, look the truth in the eyes, otherwise they write that you can sit by the fountain in the summer, that’s funny, I’m shocked, but there’s nowhere to go here….

I’ve been to Nefteyugansk a couple of times: in 2009 and 2011. I was struck by the changes in two years (for the better) in the appearance of the central part of the city. The barracks on the periphery, of course, spoil the view, but their elimination, I think, is a matter of time. There is still enough oil and gas in the depths of Ugra. And then…?

the author writes that there are places to go with children...somehow I didn’t notice such places!!! there is, of course, a “cave”, which is located in the 16th microdistrict.. but there are just slot machines and that’s it((. For children, only a bunch of private kindergartens were opened for 20 thousand rubles per month!!! there’s not a damn thing in our wonderful Nefteyugansk! not for adults, not for children... There is neither a normal park (for example, like Saimaa in Surgut), nor an amusement park... For adults, there is no particular joy either.. RK "Empire" is a sad establishment.. the music is so-so.. the decoration too it's lame... we should hold more themed parties there, for variety... otherwise it's always the same thing!!!! Of course you can eat in our city, and there are a lot of places... But it's mostly sushi and pizzerias... by the way, not cheap pleasure!!! There is an equally awesome cinema in our awesome town! This is of course a crappy place, not an establishment!!! I think it’s just kind of unfinished... There is only one conclusion, no matter how sad it is, our city sucks

Advantages: Compact, modern...Ob Disadvantages: No railway and airport
And again, a report from the northern latitudes of our vast country, today this is the city of Nefteyugansk, one of the largest in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. To be more precise, it is the third largest city in the district, after Surgut and Nizhnevartovsk.
Almost all cities of the Far North owe their origin to oil and gas fields discovered here; Nefteyugansk is no exception in this case. Oil production began here in 1961, and since then the development of the city began. The evolution is traditional: first a working village, then a city. Nefteyugansk received city status in 1967.
The city's main enterprise is Yuganskneftegaz, the main production division of the Rosneft company. Well, let's take a break from oil and move on to the city's attractions.
In general, geographically the city is located on an island between two branches of the Ob. Previously, travel between the city and the mainland was carried out by ferry; the first bridge was built in 1974 and the second in 2000.
By the way, about 130,000 people officially live in the city... taking into account shift workers and guest workers, I think a lot more. There are mainly Russians, Tatars, Bashkirs and Ukrainians here.
If we talk about leisure areas, shops, cafes, restaurants, etc., then it must be said that all this is here and in the right quantity.
A few words about the climate. Clearly, this is the North. There is a sharply continental climate, long winters and short summers. Among other things, the proximity of a large river has an effect.
A huge library, a modern cinema, a large sports complex, the gorgeous Ob River... I like it all!
In general, I liked the town. Compact, modern, clean... overall everything is good. Looking on the Internet, I found out that the average age of a city dweller is 33 years old... young, well, that’s understandable.

I remember I loved going to the demolished Guru-Chai eatery (which was across the street) when I was in Yugansk for a little over 3 months in 2007. So, I was left with pleasant impressions)), but the town is gray and has no prospects for the future.

I was born and lived in Yugansk until I was 16 years old. In 2008, just before the crisis, we moved to Tyumen. We don’t regret it one bit, you can’t drag me north... well, except for a lot of money. True, my specialty is not the same.
I looked at the photos and felt a little nostalgic. I get the same feeling when I visit the regions of Tyumen beyond Permyakov. Similar architecture. In general, I feel sorry for the people who stay there and also drag their children into it. There's nothing there. Even for entertainment, as they rightly said in the comments, many people went to Surgut.
Therefore, it is especially surprising to hear about apartments in a new microdistrict for 100 thousand rubles/sq.m. For what? A person in his right mind will strive to leave for the mainland, and he will be right.

Everyone sees what they want to see... You have to try to look for the good, it’s not difficult to see the bad... People are people everywhere - good and others... There’s not much in the city, but you can sit by the fountain in the summer or go skiing in the winter, you can stand by the river - it can be beautiful there... it seems that the desire to give a damn about people’s souls is not our innovation, it’s not worth trying... And I wish the residents of Nefteyugansk not to whine, not to feel deprived, but to build their own happiness!

I am a native resident of Nefteyugansk since 1979, I was born here and live here. Everyone has known for a long time that our city has been used as a colony for a long time, but what to do?? We were slaves and we will die. We and Rosneft are a different story, but they never gave anything to the people, even though they waited 5 years for what was promised. As for Khadorkovsky, he may be a thief, but at times he shared with the people and gave money to the city. (not to mention the development and purchase of additional new equipment, which to this day is considered the best in the Rosneft system) and now Moscow stupidly takes all the taxes of large enterprises, leaving pennies for private owners in the local budget, which you can still try to get out. Another argument about Rosneft’s assets I myself saw while working for acquisitions under Yukos, a new oil purification system that had no analogues in Russia was bought neglected and was working, so when Gaspode arrived, this equipment was abruptly frozen and after some time it was allegedly acquired and launched by the sowing of RUSSIA Putin himself, who I didn’t bother to leave my card at the site on the sinful earth, but the newspapers were buzzing that before Rosneft had time to take power, they launched unique equipment….. all the vufflo and where is the money that was laundered.
In addition, the production policy changed immediately, as in communes you need everything at once and tomorrow the grass won’t grow, oh, this is probably Rosneft’s policy. And then the wells of the promising Priobskoye field, which already produces more oil than the whole of Russia, together began to drill, increasing the flow rate pi,,,,,,, so that they could have a sweet life gan,,,,,,, But that’s not all he participated in the launch of the Vankorovskoye field ( Yukos developed it in case there suddenly became more gas for the acquisitions than oil (by the way, about the gas supply, I’m generally silent about the equipment of the processing plant, the construction site is all Yukos’s business, which Rosneft couldn’t even take full advantage of, the construction was tenuous)) so here’s Vankor after launches were handed over to the Moscow company IMS for maintenance, which didn’t even have staff; they outbid our specialists, took the money and are now giving it to us again. fucking Nefteyugants. and where is the money again….. It’s only me who knows so much and how much else we don’t know????? By the way, to support Putin, our security forces were sent by order and settled in barracks near Moscow. Again, I know from the fact that my father works in the fucking system of GResneft. And the fact that the city is shit is not true, apparently you walked through garbage dumps. OH I'm glad to YOU how much you still don't know, the less you know the better you sleep. We go to the state in Surgut just because we have nothing to do, but we’re just paying for one thing. But from the point of view of economy or choice, it all sucks, we live in the 21st century, everything is on the Internet and delivered to your hands.

Eh!!! City of childhood! I have been living in the capital for more than 10 years! I remember how I was drawn back for the first 5 years! I wanted my children to grow up there. There is no metropolitan bustle and lawlessness, and there is no poverty and devastation in the rest of Russia (I have been to many places). And now that the children have arrived, I understand... a swamp!!! Do you know what is not written in the article?! About drug addiction, gopnichestvo, the wave of thieves and young people with a perverted worldview. In the 90s and early 2000s this was over the top! I think this spirit has not left the city anywhere! He only added red maccasins))) In general, the environment is aggressive and criminal, promoting drug addiction. There is a special conversation about drugs, so many acquaintances have flown into this abyss! The city has taken many lives! In general, I will only take the children to Yugansk on an excursion to the places of father’s glory))

Nice little northern town. Beautiful in its own way. Cosy. I don’t know why the author of the article is complaining so much))) There are 2 art schools per 100 thousand people, where talented children study. Which, by the way, take places at international competitions. There are sports sections and a swimming pool. Good libraries. Museum. There is no infrastructure whatsoever. Of course, the city is rather poor - all the juice is sucked out by Rosneft, and before it YUKOS. But the people here are good and open. And the drivers are polite, unlike drivers in big cities.

Advantages: salary, snow, quality of roads Disadvantages: difficult to leave, no parks, bad water, poor availability of medicine and transport, little entertainment
Despite the fact that the city is the third largest in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug in terms of living standards and attractiveness for people and businesses, it is far from a leader. Cities of such size almost always have a much better level of infrastructure and development in Russia.
The good thing is the salaries: the average salary corresponds to St. Petersburg, but it depends where you get a job. When I first came to the city, I was immediately surprised that people were not asking for money on the street, but for water or bread. This is sad(( As a fact: the average salary of the largest subsidiary of Rosneft, which accounts for 10% of all-Russian production, is slightly higher than the average in Moscow. So don’t believe those people who say that in the north no one earns less than 100k. Most people gets less.
The climate at the moment cannot be called harsh. Summer is sometimes long and quite hot, but just like everywhere else you can be unlucky with the weather, it’s nice to see white nights. Insects are poisoned here, so there are practically no midges in the summer. Winter is quite long and snowy; there is snow here from October to March. As for frosts, the climate is gradually improving and last year there were only a couple of days above -30 with low humidity, and this feels like a humid -15 in the Volga region.
The roads here are excellent, it’s even difficult to remember where in the city you can see a decent pothole. I don't think they are here. The roads are also in excellent condition, and every year some streets are actively rebuilt here and they try to widen the lanes, rather than doing pothole repairs like in poor cities. With roads, we can say there are a couple of features that are not always pleasant for some categories of citizens: many single-lane roads, diagonal traffic lights, many speed bumps, many pedestrian crossings, here pedestrians win in the war between pedestrians and cars. In a given city, they want buses on non-linear routes, along different streets in different directions, where there are a couple of kilometers straight, on a rotten bus, if you wait for it (they run according to a schedule), you will travel 10 km. I provide a photo of a city bus, they say that there was a bus with polyethylene instead of a window.
It is difficult to leave this city: the airport is unprofitable, so 70 km of travel is at your service, the station is 45 km. Minibus taxis run every half hour with this being well organized here, from 6 am to 9 pm somewhere like this, so at night you can only get there by taxi.
There is little vegetation in this city, not a single park where you can walk in the shade of forests, but in neighboring Surgut there are definitely at least five of them. The embankment here is empty, there are practically no attractions here. All that remains for people is to work in order to leave here on vacation or to drink. With crime in these steppes, not everything is smooth. Although this is not the 90s, you can still meet drug addicts walking along the highway to another village or drug addicts going into the forest here.
No matter what they say about Siberian rivers and that you can drink water straight from the river, in this city it is nonsense. The city entered the “Top 5 cities with dirty water in the Russian Federation.”
Drinking water does not come from the tap here; the water in the tap is only industrial water at a price of about 40 rubles/m3, in all colors of the rainbow. Of course, they built a deferrization station, but there is no money for reagents, so it doesn’t work, and if it does work, the pipes here are old and it won’t help, and the table water plant must sell water in canisters for drinking for 3.5 rubles/l. Medicine is also difficult here, God forbid you get sick.
The city is not attractive for business. Fast food is represented by subway and kfs, and not as a franchise, because no one wanted to invest money. Hypermarkets do not tend to come here, only a family magnet where prices are sometimes higher than usual. There are two nightclubs here; they look more like an expensive cafe. Stars practically never come to this city. The theater is only a puppet theater. There is no indoor skating rink here. The water park is not a very popular place. There are no large shopping centers either. The branch of Tyumen University has moved away from here, so education here is also becoming more difficult. Prices here are slightly higher than in the central part of the Russian Federation, prices for housing and land are St. Petersburg prices, clothes and shoes are more expensive and of lower quality. People tend to shop while on vacation.
It depends on everyone, but for me, the Siberian city deserves a better quality of life. I don't recommend going here.
Enterprises and work in Nefteyugansk
From the above it is clear that if you are the owner of a rare profession, or simply a good professional, you will definitely be welcome in the city. The main supplier of jobs is LLC RN-Yuganskneftegaz. Next come the rest of the service and maintenance companies and the public sector. Lots of small offices, shops, offices - if you really want to, you can always find a job.
One of the workshops of LLC RN-Yuganskneftegaz
The unemployment rate in Nefteyugansk is low. As of July 1, 2013, in the Nefteyugansk employment center, 209 people were listed as unemployed, and the unemployment rate was only 0.17%. Recently, the demand for labor has increased, both among oil workers and in other enterprises.
Working conditions deserve special mention. We probably won’t be wrong if we say that 30 percent of all Nefteyugansk are early birds, as they work in workshops and fields located outside the city. Sometimes it takes up to 3 hours to get to the workplace. If you are lucky enough to work within the city, then most likely your working day begins at 9 am and ends at 18.00.
Nefteyugansk is an almost open environment for starting your own business. Analyzing the economic situation in the city, experts emphasize that the service sector has great potential. In the area of trade, the niches are tighter, the market is established, but large retail chains are gradually entering the city.
Nearby settlements
One of the closest large cities is Surgut, the distance to Nefteyugansk is only 45 kilometers, if in a straight line, and about 61 km along the highway. The easiest way to overcome it is by road; you can also take a boat on the Ob River.
If you travel by personal transport, you should first pass Bely Yar, then the villages of Solnechny and Barsovo, and after 27 kilometers you will already reach Nefteyugansk.
For those coming to Surgut and not knowing where Nefteyugansk is located, minibuses depart from Lenin Avenue. Next, the bus follows Kitrbaya Street, along the Yurgsky Highway, and exits onto the Nefteyugansk Highway, then onto the P404 highway. Then to the village of Singapai and enters Nefteyugansk from Surgutskaya Street.
Crime
The criminal situation in the city is quite calm. But if incidents happen, they thunder throughout Russia. So in 1998, the mayor of the city, Vladimir Petukhov, was killed. The ex-head of Yukos, Mikhail Khodorkovsky, is blamed for the death. And the YUKOS case itself is closely connected with the city, which was previously the capital of the oil company.
The murder of mayor V. Petukhov caused mass unrest in Nefteyugansk
Also recently, a series of explosions occurred in the city - not large, but committed in crowded places. It was subsequently revealed that these were the actions of hooligans. In general, reports of murders and major robberies are not reported often. The city is quite calm and quiet.
Modern realities
Today, the city of oil workers is losing ground. If previously people came here to earn money, then no one can boast of their large size. According to data for 2016, the average salary in Nefteyugansk was 36 thousand rubles. For example, in the same year 2016, earnings in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky were 59 thousand. The economic crisis is forcing oil companies to cut their expenses not only on research work, but also to save on employees, wages and social packages. Indeed, there is work in the city, but by the standards of the Far North it is small; service personnel receive 20-25 thousand rubles per month. According to a survey of city residents themselves, they rate the quality of life at 3.6 on a five-point scale, and this is only 80th place in the ranking of Russian cities, which includes only 250 settlements.
