Church of the Life-Giving Trinity
- Address: st. Victory, 3.
Construction of the monumental cathedral took place from 2008 to 2012. The building of the attraction is made in the Russian-Byzantine style.
The facade is decorated with numerous attics, pediments and gables, all of different shapes. The niches are full of frescoes with images of saints. On the upper tier there is an arched belfry.
The composition ends with a five-headed piece on light drums with kokoshniks. Before construction began, a bronze crucifix was installed on the site. Now it is located on the site behind a forged fence.
The church operates a children's Sunday school, theological courses, a charitable foundation, and instrumental and choral ensembles.
Monument to the bell "Reut"
- Address: Lenin street.
The history of Reutov began with a signal tower, which was located on a small hill. There was always a sentry on top of it. Noticing the enemy's approach to Moscow, he struck the reut, the largest bell on the tower. According to the most common version, the city was named after this bell. Today the reut is depicted on the flag and coat of arms.
In 2005, Reutov celebrated his 65th birthday. In honor of this, a giant bell was installed at the site where the signal tower was supposed to be located. Sculptor Vitaly Kazansky decorated it with cast patterns, images of patron saints and a commemorative inscription on the sound ring. Since its opening, the Reut bell has been one of the “features” of the city.
Factory Pond
- Address: Parkovaya street.
The Factory Pond adds a special touch to Reutov’s landscape. It has the shape of a triangle and is divided into two parts by a protrusion of land, which the inhabitants call the “peninsula”. Previously, it was an ordinary pond with green banks, but after reconstruction in 2022 it turned into the most popular park.
On the banks of the pond there are children's playgrounds with carousels, swings and spider webs. There are environmentally friendly sites made entirely of wood. Adults and teenagers enjoy spending time on the local sports courts. From one recreation area to another there are paved paths along which it is pleasant to walk or ride a bicycle.
The park's scenery changes depending on the season. In the summer, artistic flower beds bloom here, plank loungers are installed, and a magnificent illuminated fountain is turned on. In winter, trees are decorated with garlands, wire sculptures with lights are created, and a Christmas tree is erected.
Folk festivities are organized in the Factory Pond park in honor of the New Year, Maslenitsa and Easter. Festivals are accompanied by an animation program, competitions, tastings, as well as rituals, for example, the burning of Kostroma.
Another attraction of the pond is the sandy beach located on the peninsula. This is the only place for swimming in Reutov.
History of Reutov
Initially, the village of Reutovo was located on the site of the modern city. The first mention of it is associated with the Scribe Book of the 16th century. The origin of the name is shrouded in various legends. According to one of them, the name Reutov is connected with the fact that many years ago the Vladimirsky highway passed through the city, along which exiles were sent to Siberia. It was here that their mourners allegedly stopped and mourned their loved ones. The second version is based on the fact that Moldovan traders who came from the Reut River once lived here. Some historians claim that the name is due to the large number of howler bears that lived in these places. And finally, the most plausible version says that once there was a signal line for the defense of Moscow with bells called reuts.

The Kazan Church was built in the late 1990s in the Russian-Byzantine style. The snow-white building is decorated with spinning wheels and shovels. The halls are illuminated by narrow elongated windows. The temple ends with a light drum with a golden dome.
Above the front porch there is a blank drum with a golden dome and a cross. Adjacent to the church is a two-tier hipped bell tower, the end of which is decorated with a fresco of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God. The territory is surrounded by a forged fence with pylons.

Memorial compositions and decorative sculptures are the property and pride of Reutov. Tourists will definitely want to stop and take photos next to these works of art.
Memorial complex to the Reutovites who died for the Fatherland (Eternal Flame)
- Address: Victory Square.
The history of the complex began in 1958 with a memorial in honor of plant workers who did not return from the war. It consists of a stele with a bas-relief of a Soviet soldier and 16 slabs on which 160 names of fallen soldiers are carved.
Later, the Tank Monument and the Alley of Heroes appeared. It consists of six busts of Reutovites who were posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. The last change to the complex was made in 2005, when the Eternal Flame was lit at the central monument.
Monument to Academician V.N. Chelomey
- Address: Academician Chelomey Square.
Vladimir Nikolaevich Chelomey is a Soviet designer of rocket and space technology. For his achievements, he was twice awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor. On July 30, 2014, the designer would have turned 100 years old.
In honor of this anniversary on the square. V.N. Chelomey in Reutov, a sculpture of the hero was installed. Sculptor Vitaly Kazantsev depicted Chelomey at work. In one hand he holds a pencil, and in the other a model of a new airplane.
Monument to V.I. Lenin
- Address: Pobeda Street.
The oldest monument to Reutov is located opposite the Trinity Church. It was installed in 1925 with donations from cotton mill workers. The sculpture is made of stone and covered with silver paint.
Despite its venerable age, the monument is in satisfactory condition. The sculpture is placed on a granite pedestal, at the base of which there is a plaque with a memorial inscription.
This is not the only monument to Lenin in the city. The second was opened in 1960 in honor of the 90th anniversary of the leader’s birth. The sculpture is made of bronze and is regularly restored, making it look like new.
Cruise missile P-70 "Amethyst"
- Address: Gagarin street.
On the territory of NPO Mashinostroeniya, an authentic P-70 Amethyst missile is placed on a pedestal. It was designed by V.N. Chelomey in 1950-1960. The rocket is not accessible, but is clearly visible from the street.
Monument to the Rocket "Meteor"
- Address: st. Parkovaya/st. Gagarin.
Unlike the Amethyst, the Meteorite rocket is installed in an open area - nothing prevents tourists from taking pictures in front of it. During the Soviet years it was called a “superweapon” and a “monster in the sky.” The Meteorite monument was erected in 2022. Currently, there is a recreation area around the rocket.
Monument to Ogari
- Address: Factory Pond Park.
The ogary is a waterfowl of the Anatidae family. It is distinguished from its relatives by its bright orange-brown plumage. Another feature is that sardines look for food on land, while other ducks feed in the water.
Ogars, as a rule, nest in remote corners of nature, where there are rivers or lakes. In the Moscow region, sturgeons can often be seen in city ponds. There is an assumption that these individuals are descendants of a flock that escaped from the Moscow Zoo in 1948.
In Reutov, in honor of Ogari, a beautiful sculptural composition depicting a female, male and ducklings was installed. The backdrop of the monument is the Factory Pond.
Background information about Reutov.
Reutov, located in the Moscow region, is a city of regional subordination, a science city of the Russian Federation. Reutov received city status in 1940 - the only settlement of the urban district of the same name. As of January 1, 2011, its population numbered 84.3 thousand people. A branch of the Moscow Railway runs along Reutov (Kursky Station, Gorky Direction). The Reutovo railway station is located on the site between Lenina and Yuzhnaya streets, and not far from Gorkovskoye Highway and Mira Avenue there is a branch to Balashikha with a platform called Stroika.

Reutov, adjacent to the eastern border of the Russian capital, is an urban district of the Moscow region. In the east its neighbors are: mountains. Balashikha and Nikolskoye, in the west - the Moscow districts of Ivanovskoye and Novogireevo, separated by the Moscow Ring Road, in the south - the metropolitan district of Novokosino, separated by Nosovikhinsky Highway; Gorkovskoye Highway runs from the northern side of the city. Reutov consists of northern and southern parts, which are divided between the Moscow Railway (Gorky direction). If you go by car, the shortest route between them is the Moscow Ring Road, which from a legal point of view is an object of the city of Moscow.
From a landscape point of view, the territory in which the Reutov Okrug is located is part of Meshchera near Moscow and is a flat outwash plain. Here there are individual gentle moraine uplifts and Carboniferous limestones and Jurassic clays occur at shallow depths. They are covered by fluvio-glacial sands and sandy loams. Sandy soddy-podzolic soils give life to pine forests; there are small swamps. The absolute heights recorded in this area are about 140 m. Heights of 150-160 m are found, as a rule, on moraine “islands”. In areas located higher up, erosional dissection increases, but it is small throughout Meshchera, speaking as a whole. There are practically no ravines. In this part of the Moscow Meshchera, the totality of natural conditions gives grounds to speak of two areas - the Pekhorkinsky gently undulating plain and the Reutov flat plain. Their differences are based on the totality of the main tracts with special properties.
The city entirely fits into the Reutov area, which, in turn, is part of the Moscow moraine-outwash gently undulating plain. On the western side it runs along the border of the capital. Absolute heights are in the range of 140–160 m. Here lies a moraine, which has a cover of sandy loams and sands of varying thickness. Reutov land is a “kingdom” of moderately drained and well-drained (less often) soils. The soil cover consists of widespread soddy-low- and medium-podzolic gleyic, soddy-medium-podzolic (less commonly) soils. The area is characterized by uneven forest cover - approximately a third of the territory. All forests belong to the category of valuable, high and medium quality - coniferous, small and medium contour, unstable, highly degraded.
Where did the name “Reutovo” come from? Several versions answer this question. So, according to one legend, here, along the Vladimir Highway, exiles were sent to Siberia, and their mourners cried and “roared.” The second version connects the history of the appearance of the city name with the Moldavian River Reut: traders who came from those regions allegedly lived in this area. There is an option according to which the credit for creating the new name belongs to the “howler” bears, the number of which in this area used to be very large.
The most plausible and therefore accepted version is considered to be the version in which the name of the city is associated with the name of the bells - reuts. Once upon a time in this area there was a signal line that was part of the capital’s defense system, which consisted of watchtowers with bells (another name for them came from Old Slavonic - reuts). They were entrusted with the task of warning with their signals that the enemy was moving towards Moscow. Where Lenin, Gagarin and Pobeda streets now come together, at an altitude of 166 m above sea level, there once stood such a tower with a reut.
By the way, the famous Dahl dictionary also testifies to the fact that bells, including church bells, were called this way in the past. The sentinel service on the watchtower was led by a specially assigned clerk. The name of the bell - reuta - turned into the nickname of this civil servant, and the farm received the name Reutovo. Although in the correct version the stress in this word falls on the first syllable, for some reason a fairly large number of townspeople place the stress on the second syllable. In the square where the above-mentioned streets converge, there is a bell monument; The bell can also be seen on the city coat of arms.
Most historians agree that Reutovo appeared on the map between 1492-1495, although no one knows the exact date of the city’s founding. The first mention of Reutovo in written sources is found in the Scribe Book dating from the 16th century. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, the village of Reutovo was owned by the princely families of Dolgorukov and Turenin. At the very beginning of the 18th century, the village became a village of the same name. Thus, the Census Book of 1709 mentions the village of Reutovo, which was owned by Prince Vasily Mikhailovich Dolgorukov. In 1787, it was purchased by Moscow Prince Nikolai Ivanovich Maslov, under whom Reutovo was transformed into a luxurious country estate. After its destruction at the beginning of the 19th century, the settlement became the property of Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Mikhailovich Pokhvistnev, who built a paper spinning factory here in 1824. The yarn produced there was awarded a large gold medal at the All-Russian Exhibition of 1831, and it is no coincidence, since it was considered one of the highest quality in the entire country. In the same year, the landowner E.I. Dubrovina became the new owner of Reutovo; from 1833, the landowner from the nobility, the officer’s daughter of A.S. Mastinin, became the owner, and from 1840 the village belonged to the titular councilor M.E. Romanov.
The paper mill and the territory of Reutov were purchased in 1843 by Sergei Alekseevich Mazurin, a Moscow merchant of the 1st guild. The production facility founded by Pokhvistnev was rebuilt by him, and a brick factory was erected nearby. Barracks were built to accommodate workers, and it was they that became the basis for the factory village of Reutovo. In 1913, Reutovo was connected to Balashikha by rail, and a station of the same name appeared. A decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR in 1928 gave the factory village of Reutov the status of a workers' village included in the Razinsky volost (currently Balashikha district) of the Moscow district. As of 1929, the Reutovsky district included 37 settlements, among which were Golyanovo, Ivanovskoye and Izmailovo. The village and district Soviets of Workers' Deputies were located in the village.
The Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR dated October 7, 1940 turned the workers' village into the city of Reutov.
Balashikha became the regional center in May 1941. 1955 was the year of the founding of the OKB-52 aviation and missile enterprise, which was later renamed TsKBM, and is currently called OJSC Military-Industrial Corporation NPO Mashinostroeniya. The post of General Designer was Vladimir Nikolaevich Chelomey, academician, twice Hero of Socialist Labor. The number of workers until the mid-90s was about 10 thousand workers. On December 29, 2003, the city received another status - this time a science city of the Russian Federation. According to the Decree signed by Vladimir Putin, it will remain with him until the end of 2027.

The Pekhorka tributary of the Serebryanka River (its other name is Chechera) no longer exists. Quite a few ponds have disappeared from the face of the city. For example, next to the Gagarinskaya entrance of NPOmash there was a pond “Ivan Borisov”; on the site of the sports ground in the courtyard of house No. 15 on the street. Victory there was a “Morozovsky Pond”; there is no more “Island”, “Kuznetsovsky Pond” near the Moscow Ring Road.

The Holy Trinity Cathedral is being built in the northern half of Reutov, at the place where Ashgabat and Pobeda streets intersect. Between 1960 and 1989, there were plans to build a metro station in the city, but they never came to fruition. However, in 2012 it is planned to build the Novokosino metro station of the Moscow Metro (Kalininskaya line). An entrance to the metro will be built in the city at the place where Nosovikhinskoye Highway and Yuzhnaya Street intersect. As for the northern part of Reutov, from here, as before, it is more convenient to go to Novogireevo. According to the General Plan of the city of Moscow, it is planned to build a metro station near the Stroika railway station in the long term. Regarding the construction of the Kozhukhovskaya line, Alexander Kuzmin, the capital’s chief architect, noted that it is intended for Reutov residents to the same extent as for Muscovites.
