How to get to Svetlogorsk
Getting to this city is not very easy. And this is not surprising, given where Svetlogorsk is located. And this city is located in the very west of Russia, in the Kaliningrad region, on the shores of the Baltic Sea. From major cities of the country you can get to it by bus, train or car. You can also use the services of airlines. The last option is the most preferable. This is due to the fact that the Kaliningrad region is separated from the main territory of the country by other states, so land transport may not be very convenient.
There are direct flights from Moscow and St. Petersburg. In the first case, the flight time is 2 hours, and in the second – 1.5 hours.
You can get from the airport to the desired location using a taxi. You can also get there by public transport, but with a transfer in Kaliningrad. This is a longer and cheaper option. Those interested can rent a car. Since the roads in the region are good, driving will be comfortable.
A more difficult option is traveling by train. To do this, you will have to buy a ticket using your international passport directly at the station. And in advance - no later than 27 hours before the departure of the train. You will need to fill out a form on the train, and a special travel document will be issued at the border with Lithuania. However, it will be possible to exit only in the Kaliningrad region.
Trains leave Moscow every day, and from St. Petersburg - 3 times a week. The travel time is short - only about a day. However, trains only go to Kaliningrad. From there you can get to Svetlogorsk by bus, train or taxi. The high-speed electric train "Lastochka" (Kaliningrad - Svetlogorsk) will quickly deliver passengers to their destination.
Transport
Buses pass along Kaliningradsky Prospekt and the highway of the same name, leaving the resort part of Svetlogorsk aside. With their help, it is convenient to move between the outskirts, nearby towns and villages. For example, the road between Otradny and Pionersky will take 25 minutes, the fare will be 10-16 RUB; From Svetlogorsk to Yantarny it takes about 40 minutes, a one-way ticket will cost 44 RUB. So, with a couple of transfers you can travel around the entire sea coast from the Curonian Spit to Baltiysk in a day, spending about 400 RUB on a round trip.
A taxi around the resort costs on average 100-150 RUB. Taxi companies are equipped with meters; for using the luggage compartment they can charge you another 50 RUB.
Due to the prevalence of one-way streets, the cost of a trip “there” may differ from the trip “back” by about a third.
The Tourist Information Center and the advanced Cafebike service offer their services to bicycle lovers. At the Info Center, renting an adult bike for an hour will cost 80-120 RUB. Cafebike has developed a system of tariffs and subscriptions with prices ranging from 2 RUB per minute to 500 RUB per day. Tracking of available devices, calculation of rental time and payment are made using a smartphone application. Cafebike points in Svetlogorsk operate at the Konigsbacker bakery and Croissant Cafe.
One unusual thing is the cable car. A modest funicular about 150 m long connects the Svetlogorsk-2 station with the western edge of the Central Beach. A one-way ticket will cost 45 RUB, a full circle ticket will cost 70 RUB.
Hotel "Lumiere"
This respectable hotel is located in a forest area, close to the coast and not far from the city center. There are 20 places for people to live. All rooms are beautifully decorated. One to three people can live in one room. There are also deluxe rooms. Bathrooms are well equipped.
There is no need to buy food at the store. The hotel has its own restaurant where Russian and European dishes are prepared. You can order a diet menu. Plus, food and drinks can be delivered to your room and packaged food can be purchased for the trip.
In addition to the restaurant, the hotel has a Russian bath, sauna, laundry, car and bicycle rental. There are also barbecue areas, a children's playground, a library, parking, and Wi-Fi. Near the hotel there are restaurants, cinemas and shops.
Rent a Car
To travel only around Svetlogorsk, it’s probably not worth taking a car. Narrow and often one-way streets, bad or under repair roads, and a limited number of parking spaces will make the iron assistant a burden. But for travelers with a penchant for exploring the area, a car will come in handy - take a ride along the shore and find the best beach, organize an educational expedition deep into the region, there are a lot of options for spending time.
You can rent a car right on the spot at the city Tourist Information Center. If you need wheels for the entire vacation, then it makes sense to take the car in Kaliningrad or arrange for its pick-up at the airport. The rental business is well developed in the region; regional companies with affordable prices and all-Russian/international services are represented on the market, but during the season the offers may not be so great. Pay attention to the terms of delivery: for delivery of a car to the Baltic coast, companies with an office in Kaliningrad ask from 500 RUB to 1500 RUB. The average deposit amount is 7000-9000 RUB.
A day in an economy class car will cost 1200-1500 RUB, a more spacious car for a company or family will cost from 2300-2500 RUB. For a navigator or a child seat, another 100-200 RUB per day will be added to the bill.
Guest house "Breeze Baltic"
This not very expensive establishment is located in a calm and quiet area near the Baltic Sea. The rooms feature a rustic style and bright colors. There is satellite TV, access to wireless Wi-Fi, comfortable beds and deluxe rooms equipped with a safe.
The establishment has its own restaurant and barbecue facilities are available. The airport is only one and a half kilometers away. The area allows for recreational fishing and hiking.

Entertainment in Svetlogorsk is modest. Mostly walking along the embankment and visiting numerous cafes. The most inexpensive establishment, in my opinion, is “Blinnaya” on the street. Oktyabrskaya.
