Amusement park in Sochi - a full-fledged amusement park

Sochi Park is a recreation and entertainment park located in the Adler district of Sochi. It opened its doors to its first guests at the very beginning of summer - June 1, 2014. All entertainment here is based on the spiritual wealth of Russia, both historical and cultural.

The huge territory of the park of more than twenty hectares is divided into five fabulous lands, the owners of which have prepared food and entertainment for the guests.

Alley of Lights in Sochi Park

From here, along a road illuminated by lights, a journey begins through an amazing country located inside the wonderful resort of Sochi. Before going through all the tests, you need to eat at the “Candy House” or in a cafe called “Magic Garden”. And for those who are poorly equipped with magical attributes, the Department Store opens its doors. And here is the first test - the Carousel of Fairy Tales: horses gallop in a circle, and paintings from fairy tales by the artist Ivan Bilibin flash around. Even the youngest visitors to the park will not be afraid to ride on such a carousel. For doll lovers, there is an exhibition of magical toys in the Alley.

History and description

Developing as an all-Union resort, Greater Sochi has been around since the late 50s. of the last century, in the eyes of the average vacationer from the interior regions of the USSR, it seemed like a paradise, fertile land. But it seemed to many other townspeople; amenities extended only to resort facilities, and the arrangement of residential areas left much to be desired.

Particularly noticeable was the lack of playgrounds and places to hang out for the smallest Sochi residents. Only in the late 70s did the local party leadership decide to pay attention to this problem - the construction of a Culture and Recreation Park for all citizens at the same time. For this purpose, a fairly large territory was allocated, with an area exceeding 2 hectares, where, surrounded by green spaces, a children’s playground quickly grew up with many swings, slides and other simple “rocking chairs” familiar to those times.

The opening took place in the spring of 1980 in a solemn atmosphere, which was preceded by a rally with the participation of the party leadership of the Krasnodar Territory and a traditional parade. The ceremony became part of the festive events included in the May Day folk festivities, as they would call it now. The pomp was justified; the beginning of the operation of the attraction was marked as a significant event for citizens of all ages, as can be seen in old photographs: Adler Culture and Leisure Park, captured on May 1, 1980, made many of them happy.

For the Adler residents, this was comparable to another event that took place a little later - the opening of the Moscow Olympics, an equally solemn moment and a small moral victory. From the first days, the park gained popularity even among tourists who did not lack for entertainment and visited it with children on equal terms with the residents of Adler.

Description and device

PKiO is located almost in the very center of Adler, where Romashek and Lenin streets converge, 1500 m from the shopping center. Yes, this is far from the busiest part of the city, but the location creates additional convenience for visiting the park with children and teenagers; the only noisy place nearby is the embankment located next door.

The peak of attendance falls during the holiday season - from the beginning of May to September it is consistently crowded. Visitors from different parts of the country often drop by here, as before, and their reviews often call this corner a “Soviet” or “retro park.” The definition is most suitable, although after the last reconstruction a lot has changed: it could not become modern, and most of the swings remained “a legacy of a bygone era.” And it remains debatable whether the children lost or, on the contrary, gained.

It is believed that the Park of Culture and Recreation in Adler is intended exclusively for children, while there is nothing for adults to do there. Not entirely true, there are no attractions for parents and grandparents - this is true, but the conditions for a pleasant pastime have been created in full, in the best traditions of the Union's example of constructing such facilities. For most, this appearance is quite acceptable; it evokes nostalgia and distant, already forgotten feelings.

The Central Park is covered with shady trees, growing densely throughout its entire territory, with narrow alleys winding past luxurious flower beds and rose gardens, attracting with their diversity and brightness. During the walk, you can sit in one of the many gazebos along the way, thickly covered with ivy, which gives them a romantic look and drives away any despondency. It is also noteworthy that the park is open to the public every day all year round.

In the Land of the Bogatyrs

For the strong and brave, in this part of the park there are giant swing boats, and in the arena you can admire the strongman show. Having refreshed yourself with delicious dishes at the wide oak table in the Upper Room, it’s time to relax a little in the Bogatyr’s castle. Opposite it there is a Ferris wheel, from which guests of the park have a breathtaking view of Imereti Bay, the mountain peaks of the Caucasus and the Olympic Park.

Oceanarium Sochi Discovery World

Sochi Discovery World is a huge oceanarium with a capacity of 5 million liters of water with 30 aquariums with marine and freshwater fish living in them. Among the inhabitants of the underwater world there are many rare and unusual species: cow fish, ball fish, hedgehog fish, unicorn fish, surgeon fish, seahorses, catfish, stingrays and sharks. Walking through a pedestrian tunnel made of thick glass, you can observe the habits of sharks, see reefs and rocks, and sunken ships.

An adult ticket costs 800 rubles, a child ticket (from 4 to 11 years old) – 500 rubles. Official website of Sochi Discovery World: https://www.sochiaquarium.ru.

Through the Enchanted Forest

The most mysterious and dangerous land in Sochi Park is the Enchanted Forest. Here, at every step, something unusual greets guests:

  • Here, at a breathtaking height, the train of the Serpent Gorynych rushes, carrying away daredevils at a speed of one hundred kilometers per hour.
  • For those who are not afraid of heights and want to feel the energy of free fall - the Firebird attraction. Together with the shining bird you can soar at an altitude of more than 60 meters.
  • Fans of car racing will enjoy the Drifter attraction. The whole family is in the booths - and you can't predict who will come out ahead.
  • And only reckless drivers who love speed can spend the whole day at the Autodrom.
  • For little ones in the Enchanted Forest - spinning rides in the Tea Cups or flying on the Gems carousel at an altitude of 13 meters.

To get out of the forest thicket, you need to go through the Labyrinth of Fairy Tales. And here’s a short rest in the coolness of the intricate fountains, and then we’re on our way.

In the Land of Science and Fiction

This part of the park has everything new: exhibitions of robots and 3D paintings. And the rides are not easy: “Quantum Leap” is a roller coaster up to 58 meters high and reaches an incredible speed of up to 105 km/h, and the “Charolet Pincode” slide will give such an adrenaline rush that emotions simply go off scale. And future space explorers will find a lot of interesting things for themselves at the Experiment site and in the Space Jungle.

Restaurant with roller coaster "Roller"

Local restaurants also had the opportunity to meet the technical standards of Sochi Park. Here you can visit an establishment where main food service has been introduced and there is no service staff. The restaurant operates using an automated system that processes and fulfills orders.

The operating principle of the Roller chain restaurants

Upon entering the Roller restaurant, the visitor becomes the owner of a magnetic card on which all orders are registered.
Next, he will be introduced to the rules for using the system. All tables have terminals with touch screens on which food and drinks are indicated along with the cost. With their help, you can complete an order and pay for it without a “tip.” It is also possible to add to the list of ordered dishes. When the client is waiting for an order, he can check his email or send an SMS through the terminal. Regular visitors to Rollercoaster establishments can pay for their orders once a month. After selecting dishes, they are moved to the cart. Finally, you should click the “place an order” button and swipe the card across the terminal next to the monitor. The finished order goes to the kitchen, which is located on the top floor of the establishment, where chefs prepare dishes, place them in special dishes, after which the order moves along rails to the client’s table.

Each dish in the order has its own special color mark and arrives intact to the restaurant visitor. The same applies to serving alcohol in bottles, but this happens instantly. The client will not have to wait more than 20 seconds.

High level of service

For clean dishes and other utensils necessary for eating, there is a special compartment on the table, where everything is put away after finishing the meal. When the dishes with the ordered dishes are on the table, the food is laid out on plates. It is worth noting that the terminal also serves to order mugs, T-shirts, souvenirs and other products that can be obtained upon leaving the establishment.

The owners of the Rollercoaster restaurant chain claim that they purchase only environmentally friendly products from which their dishes are prepared. They contain a minimum of fat.

How to get there

On the territory of Sochi Park you can enjoy an aqua show in the form of an unsurpassed in beauty water and musical attraction. This performance is shown in the warmer months with pyrotechnics, laser effects, video projection and dancing musical fountains.

The pool, whose area is 1.8 thousand m2, has a fifteen-meter water screen. The performance involves laser projectors, lighting devices, fire engines, as well as water cannons with jets of twenty and fifty meters. Local stands can accommodate two thousand spectators. A visit to the performance is also included in the price of a single ticket to Sochi Park.

Attractions in the Park of Culture and Leisure in Adler

After reconstruction, the old attractions in the park were updated and new ones were added - at the moment there are about 10 of them in Adler Park. The most favorite attractions among children are “Funny Slides”, “Traffic Light” and “Hummingbird”. The park also has a laughter room, inflatable trampolines and a racing track - in other words, there is literally everything children need here. According to tourists, in the summer the park hosts animation programs and carnivals with characters from children's fairy tales almost every day.

Prices for rides and other entertainment in Adler Park are not very high, and any parent can afford them.
