The village of Novomikhailovsky (Krasnodar Territory) is one of the most developed tourist infrastructure in the Tuapse region. It is convenient to get to it along the highway leading to Sochi. But it does not interfere with rest, going around the village.

To get to the Emerald Valley, you need to climb the pass about 200 meters. And walk along the Tu River. And two kilometers from the pass you can see the peak of Mount Ostraya, which surprisingly resembles a pyramid that has no edges.
Then you should cross the Khosheps River (there is a marked path there), and a beautiful view of a group of dolmens will immediately open up. There are six of them here, and they are all L-shaped. Only one dolmen has been preserved in perfect condition.
Beaches in the village of Novomikhailovsky

Central Beach
Of the beaches in the Novomikhailovsky village, Central is the most popular. Its length is 800 m, width reaches 40 m. It is covered mainly with pebbles mixed with sand. Tornado Beach
Novaya Mikhailovka on the village coast has several beaches. One of them is across the river from Central. It is called Tornado and belongs to the recreation center of the same name.

The beach strip is 150 m long and about 25 m wide. For those who do not live in the Tornado system, entry is paid. But there will be fewer people.
Beach of the children's camp "Orlyonok"
Those who are not satisfied with the pebble beaches of the Novomikhailovsky village can bask in the sand of the Orlyonok children's camp. But you need to get to it first. After all, it is located 4 km from Novaya Mikhailovka. You can get here by bus. If you go by car, you will have to park a little far from the beach.
An excellent sandy beach occupies 4 km of sea coast. In addition to the lack of pebbles, it also attracts many with its gentle approach to the sea, which reaches 20-30 m. Armenian Church
On the territory of the Tornado recreation center, above the village of Novomikhailovsky, a temple rises, attracting both its location and architecture. Many consider it the most beautiful building here.
It is symbolic that a road of many steps leads to the temple. It will take about 20 minutes to get from the center to the church. The temple belongs to the Armenian church and is consecrated in honor of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.
It was built quite recently, at the beginning of this century. It was created with funds from the Kochyan brothers and their nephew Lamzin. The Kochyan brothers are successful entrepreneurs, owners of the Tornado yacht club. At the same time, they do not forget about spiritual life and engage in charity work.
The church houses a sacred relic - the Gospel of 1786, rescued from Armenia during the genocide. Visitors to the church note the emerging charge of positive energy. It will be greatly enhanced by the view of the sea, views of Novomikhailovskaya Bay and the surrounding mountains, which open from the observation deck - the place on which the temple stands.
Nikopsia Fortress
On the territory of the village of Novomikhailovsky, Krasnodar Territory, there is an archaeological monument of the 5th century - the ruins of the ancient fortress Nikopsia. This place can be seen near the confluence of the Nechepsukho River into the Black Sea at Cape Beskrovny. You can get here from the Primorskaya tourist center.
The exact time of the founding of the fortress is unknown. The most popular version is that the fortress was built by the Byzantines in the 1st century. During the Ottoman Empire, the fortification was used by the Turks, calling it Duzu-Kale.
Currently, only low remains of the walls remain from the fortress. Looking at them, one can only mentally imagine the power of the ancient structure.
White Rocks Falls and Bridal Veil
Of the popular Novomikhailovsky attractions, vacationers like to visit the White Rocks and Bridal Veil waterfalls. A dirt road leads to them, decorated with landscapes of the surrounding gardens and green mountains. The distance from the village to the first of the waterfalls is 12 km. You can get there by your own car. Then you will have to park it on the territory of the White Rocks tourist center and walk about 3 km on foot.
If the weather is unlucky, it is raining or has recently rained, it is better to pay local carriers who will take you along a difficult road. You can get here with a jeep tour from Novomikhailovsky.
The White Rocks waterfall falls in three cascades. Upper 12 m, middle 10 m, lower 2 m. Those who are not afraid of cold water will plunge into the water baths at the bottom of each stage of the water flow.
On the way to the waterfall there are two more interesting objects. One of them is a small dolmen, the second is a container containing healing mud. You can smear yourself with mud by first checking whether the shower located nearby is working. Although you can scare others with your appearance, and wash away the dirt with the jets of a waterfall.
From the first waterfall it is not difficult to walk to the elegant second one - Bridal Veil. The road runs along a small gorge with a mountain river. So the surrounding nature is not much inferior in impressions to the waterfalls themselves.
Historical and Ethnographic Museum
The museum appeared quite recently. Its exhibition opened in 2016 at the village library. This is a project created by local enthusiasts. In the museum you can learn about the ancient city of Nikopsia. Extensive material has been collected about the Caucasian peoples who lived here in pre-Russian times - the Circassians and Chechens.
Among the exhibits obtained during the excavations are Greek amphorae, weapons of the warriors of Nikopsia. Some of the items date back to the time of the existence of the Adyghe kingdom. The museum also features exhibits telling about the Great Patriotic War.
Air and Space Museum
Novomikhailovsky, like Tuapse, in addition to beaches and the sea, can offer places that are interesting to visit. Among them is the House of Aviation and Cosmonautics on the territory of the children's building. The museum was created more than fifty years ago. And the idea of its creation was proposed by Yuri Gagarin.
The museum is constantly visited by astronauts. The museum has established good partnerships with the space department. Thanks to this, its exposition is constantly updated with real space objects that attract tourists. Not every resort allows you to see in person the capsule in which astronauts return from orbit, a satellite orbiting the Earth, spacesuits, and space food.
In addition to real objects that have been in space, there are mock-ups of aircraft, including the Vostok spacecraft and the Lunokhod.
Museum of Naval Glory
"Eaglet" also attracts with a museum dedicated to the Russian navy. The exhibitions tell about the valor of sailors and are dedicated to the most famous naval battles.
Here you can see models of submarines, famous ships, and weapons. The models are perfectly complemented by mannequins in naval uniforms from the era of Peter I to the present day. The dioramas of the Chesme and Sinop battles are impressive.
Komsomolsky Camp Museum
New Mikhailovka attracts the curious thanks to its children's facilities. Another of its attractions is the Komsomolsky camp museum.
The museum is simple, but it conveys the atmosphere of more than fifty years ago, when the first pioneers, the “Komsomol members,” came here on vacation. The museum premises are located in a “barrel”. This was the name of the first houses in which vacationing children lived. Photographs, diaries, pennants, and badges will tell about the modest but interesting life of that time.
Museum of the Kuban Cossacks
The village of Novomikhailovskoye tries not to forget about the interesting pages of its history. An active public creates museums that tell about the features of a settlement.
One of these appeared in 2022, this is the Museum of the Kuban Cossacks. Local Cossacks allocated one of the rooms for him at the headquarters of the Cossack society.
Visiting the museum is free. The tour will be led by a guide in Cossack costume. The museum displays weapons and uniforms of the Cossacks, household items, clothing and jewelry of the Cossacks. It should be noted that the exhibits were collected by “the whole world” of Novomikhailovsky residents.
Sports Museum
Camp "Orlyonok" is a complex of recreation centers. The youngest of them, the Olympic Village, was opened after the Sochi Olympics in 2015.

Novomikhailovsky is a specific village in terms of its territory. Its coastline is not wide and is occupied by recreation centers, hotels, and children's camps. Therefore, if you want to live on the first line, then you will most likely have to choose from this. If housing by the sea is not a priority, then there is a wide choice of private sector in the village, which runs along the river valley from the sea for 5 km.
The further from the sea, the cheaper. But there are good options for families - you can occupy an entire apartment in a multi-storey building, and for companies - choose a suitable cottage, located, for example, in a place with beautiful nature.
The Morskaya and Parkovaya streets closest to the coastline are considered expensive. Remote streets are usually cheaper. The Shirokaya Shchel microdistrict is also considered inexpensive. The village is still not entirely quiet. Therefore, if you are going on vacation to Novomikhailovsky with children, then choose a place to stay away from nightlife. And young people will choose housing in places of active night recreation.
Things to do
There is not much to do in the village itself, but there are many excursions and active entertainment. Tourists enjoy riding horses, buggies, ATVs and jeeps, fishing, diving and going on boat trips. When is the best time to go?
Located near Tuapse, Novomikhailovsky is in a subtropical climate, which guarantees an excellent beach holiday in this place on the Black Sea coast for four months: June - September. In this case, you need to take into account the specifics of the resort.
For June, this is the general situation along the Russian Black Sea coast. The month is always hot, and the water may not yet warm up to comfortable levels. Therefore, if you want to dive into a sea with a water temperature of at least 23 degrees, then it is better to go in July, August or September.
But during the hot summer months, a pleasant sea breeze is refreshing only on the coast. If you are staying away from the coast, it will be hot and stuffy here. The coolness of the night will make your stay easier, but for a comfortable night's sleep, choose accommodation with air conditioning.
For those who do not go to youth parties and are not associated with school-age children, the best month for a holiday in Novomikhailovsky will be September. Cool weather, warm sea, abundance of fruits, less crowded beaches, reduced prices - all the ingredients for a great holiday.
Bigius waterfalls
Despite the small number of attractions in Novomikhailovky, there is still something to do here. The waterfalls are located on the border of two villages - Teshebs and Bzhid. You can come and see this beauty by private vehicle or as part of an organized excursion group.
The cascade of waterfalls is 15 meters. But the most interesting sight is the fabulous grotto, inside of which there is a small waterfall. These places already have a subtropical climate, so the surrounding nature seems like a jungle.
How to get to Novomikhailovsky
Novomikhailovsky, located near Tuapse, is accessible to any type of transport. You just have to make transfers to get there.
By plane
If you can find inexpensive air tickets, then this option will be unbeatable. There are three airports relatively close to the village: from Gelendzhik the distance is 97 km, from Krasnodar - 130 km, from Adler 180 km.
Usually the best option is to fly through Krasnodar. It will be cheaper to fly there, there is a good road and less traffic jams.
Nearby Gelendzhik is characterized by expensive flights, and the road from it has serpentines and traffic jams.
From Sochi (Adler) the drive is further and there are traffic jams. But there is an option to take the train to Tuapse, from where the bus leaves.
By train
In this option, you need to take a ticket to Tuapse station, from where you can get there by bus or taxi. There is no railway station in Novomikhailovsky, Krasnodar Territory.
Excursions
- Excursion to Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana. The tour takes about a day and costs 3600 per person. It is better not to travel with children, the road is long and tiring. You can just take a sightseeing tour of Sochi.
- Various excursions to the mountains and waterfalls. They are not very expensive, maximum 1000 rubles per person. The journey takes about half an hour, you can enjoy the freshness of the mountains and noisy waterfalls.

Story
In ancient times, on the site of Novomikhailovsky, the city of Nikopsia was located, one of the largest in ancient Zichia. Its ruins are still visible today. During the Ottoman Empire, the Turkish fortress of Duzu-Kale stood here. The modern history of Novomikhailovsky begins at the end of 1864 with the founding of the village. It received its name in honor of the Mikhailovsky fortification, which became famous for its heroic defense during the Caucasian War and subsequently became the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka. In 1966, the village of Novomikhailovskoye became a tourist village.
