Story
City since 2000, formerly the village of Novostroika
near the city of Krasnozavodsk (and under its administrative subordination), founded in 1948 for the construction of a testing center for rocket and space technology.
Most of the residents of Novostroika took part in the creation and launch of the first artificial Earth satellite, the spacecraft on which Yuri Gagarin made the first flight into space in history. But before testing began, a test site had to be built. This location had special requirements: the site must be located 100 km from Moscow, in a wooded, ravine area with a river channel for discharging waste substances. Representatives of the state commission chose the Zagorsk region.
The city received its name in honor of the legendary warrior Alexander Peresvet, hero of the Battle of Kulikovo.
In 2006–2019, it was the center of the urban settlement of Peresvet, Sergiev Posad municipal district.
Overexposure is not in trend, rather the opposite

In the Sergiev Posad region, in recent years, the authorities have actively taken up the creation of parks and recreation areas. The Skitskie Prudy park has appeared in Sergiev Posad - it has been a long time coming. In the Afanasovsky village, the recreation area was landscaped, legalized and given the name “Memory Park”. Kuznetsov Boulevard, under the constant attention of landscapers, is a kind of testing ground for experiments and searches. It hasn’t worked out yet, but it’s a matter of time. They plan to create a pedestrian zone with an artificial river between the administration building and the Church of Peter and Paul.
In the glorious city of Khotkovo, the historical, cultural and landscape park “Pokrovsky” was built and inaugurated. An example for everyone!
The management of Remmash, sometime in the fall, invited the head of the district along with the media and presented the project of their park, with a layout and access to the site. What a sight for sore eyes!
I think that other settlements also have their own plans and successes in developing territories, improving recreation areas, and caring for natural landscapes. In addition, the area has become a pilot within the framework of the regional program for the improvement of springs, and the “Our Forest. Plant your tree,” work is underway on environmental education in schools and kindergartens.
Things are going well.
And only Peresvet is not in trend.
More precisely, the region-wide positive information wave about the widespread creation of parks and recreation areas hit the Peresvet residents in a very special way. According to the media, it might seem that the Peresvetites were almost luckier than everyone else. But that's not true.
How? After all, we installed lights on the ski slope, opened a universal gym, a biathlon center, another swimming pool, we are waiting for ice, etc. and so on.
This is true in the sense of objects. But in terms of a holiday park - there is none!
Because behind the brave press reports with Olympians and governors, fireworks and banners, the bashful silent dissonance hides, as I understand it, the fact of the seizure of a unique forest park area in the city of Peresvet into private hands. Which, I suppose, the gullible residents of the city of rocket and space technology testers have not yet really realized, even looking at the newly built fence around the perimeter of their native forest.
Strangled City
If you look at the map of the city of Peresvet, you will see that the fences of construction bases, warehouses, Scientific Research Center of RKP, riot police, medical unit, concrete plant, as well as garages, railway tracks, cowsheds, parking lots, car washes, gas stations, unloading areas, and now fenced ski slope - make up 100% of the perimeter.
The territory of the newly created ski complex closed a sector of 35-50 degrees (this is approximately 15-20% of the perimeter), and with it the last free access to nature.
The swampy spruce forest behind Makarkin Pond, behind the operating railway, next to the cowsheds cannot be called a park area, and the construction that has begun towards the village of Samoilovo will soon turn the landscape into a complete fence.
What did you dream about and what did you expect?
Every Peresvetovite knows what it is - roots near the Kunya River. This is a place where more than one generation of city residents and institute workers walked and rested. How many songs were sung around the fires here, how much joy and space was given by the amazingly picturesque view of radiating rivers and the distance, framed by forests. The older generation can probably still find photographs in their home archives of people swimming and sunbathing on this very Kunya, now killed by the Skoropuskovsky chemical plant. Here, in the forest, on the right bank, people were making their way to pick mushrooms last fall!
Peresvet residents have been dreaming about the park for a long time. And if you dig around on the Internet, in newspapers or in the archives of the city administration, you will probably be able to find a couple of projects from different years to create a city recreation area within walking distance in a beautiful place with a unique landscape and views.
I remember that in one of the projects, they planned to make three alleys to Kunya and even managed to mark the trees that were to be cut down with paint. But then it somehow didn’t work out.
Popsicle, fence, dead end
Times have changed. A wizard flew in on a blue helicopter and, perhaps, even gave someone a popsicle, in one fell swoop, taking over for his own use the area around the stadium with the forest and, thereby, seizing a huge piece of land and the most picturesque part of the river, all within the city, in private use. Let's note “whole” and “in particular”.
The builders cheerfully erected kilometers of fences, installed electricity, cut down a bunch of trees to meet the standards of the ski slope, leveled the excessively steep slopes and began to roll asphalt along forest paths 4-5 meters wide.
Next they destroyed an ecological trail with benches, information stands and trash cans, which had been made not very long ago, it seems, with the money of the region. It was this “Path of the White Weasel” that many naive Peresvet residents considered the beginning of their park.
Those who walked there saw how the new owners got the hang of it, moving fences from place to place, moving further away from the highway and closer to the concrete path for “fifty dollars”, cutting off poorly lying ravines, hillocks, clearings and poorly standing forest. For the future.
Two giant pedestrian miracle bridges, with a septic tank in the middle, cut off access to the river, and the fence created the effect of a dead-end pen for those walking, with a constant reminder on posters of who the pigs are and in whose forest they are.
In place of the disappeared cordodrome, once also the only one in the entire region, a biathlon complex shooting range appeared with huge photographs on the walls, apparently so that people would know by sight who it was for. And so that they forget how, quite recently, in this very place, a karting section worked for more than two years (!), and in winter there was a public skating rink for those who do not participate in hockey sections.
The idea survived the author
The appearance of a sports complex in Peresvet is very good: an excellent sports track, high-profile competitions, the arrival of distinguished guests, all sorts of shows. Okay - but to whom?
Our great athlete, after whom cunning marketers and PR people named the complex, was sincerely happy and surprised, like a miracle, at the opening of the center in a television interview at what has grown here in a year and a half!
You can understand him. It seems like no one told him, or at least he didn’t feel it, or it doesn’t matter to him that this route appeared not so much thanks to the money and resources of the construction company, but thanks to Sergei Nikolaevich Kondratyev, who devoted the last 15 years to this idea. 20 of your life, if not your life. It was he who carried out colossal organizational work, wrote letters, visited offices for years, built bridges with the authorities, with entrepreneurs, and defended wide accessibility for citizens.
It was his idea that brought the money. On the idea and on the land, which miraculously crossed paths with us in Peresvet!
I was lucky - I knew S.N. Kondratiev, Honored Inventor of the USSR, bell maker, veteran of NIIHM and sports, a true patriot of Novostroika-Peresvet. From him I heard many times what kind of future he sees with our ski track, forest and park. Perhaps he himself did not really understand the scale of his idea, its grandeur and what his bold idea could entail - to create the first biathlon complex in the Moscow region. But, for sure, he would not be delighted that this entire huge territory would be in private hands and the townspeople would not be able to enter here freely.
We have something to be proud of!
At the opening of the biathlon center, with the visit of star athletes and the governor, one of the guests in a joyful outburst said that now, Peresvetites, you have something to be proud of!
Thank you, we survived.
We had something to be proud of for a long time even without a biathlon center.
Just in case, I’ll remind you what our schoolchildren know. We were proud before and are proud now of the work, not a single generation, of these same Peresvetites, in creating rocket and space systems of the USSR-Russia, testing rocket engines, space stations, satellites, lunar rovers and spacesuits. The famous “seven” - R-7, S. Korolev’s rocket, which opened the way for humanity into space with Yu. Gagarin’s flight, before launch at Baikonur, went through a full cycle of tests here. Other legends of world and Soviet cosmonautics were also tested here - the Soyuz spacecraft, the Mir station, the Buran reusable spacecraft, the Energia engines...
As our poet I. Kudryavtsev wonderfully wrote in one of his poems, our city is “Exit to the starry pier!”
But apparently no one told the man who opened up new prospects for us, something we should now be proud of, that next to this “star pier” they once created a very good, for that time, sports base, on the territory of which it is located .
And I think today we need to understand the situation correctly. It was not we, Peresvet residents, but investor-builders who came to visit us, at the sports base of the science city - the city of Peresvet, the former village of Novostroika, where people working for space, for the future of the country, live and have lived for a long time. And we should not forget that at one time, the first local sports facilities appeared, to a large extent, thanks to the enthusiasm and participation of the pioneers of the space industry in subbotniks and Sundays, that is, in their personal time.
What exactly is the problem?
The problem is that not just a forest park was taken away from us, Peresvetovites. The future was taken away from us: forest sunrises and sunsets, a high bank, our Novostroevsko-Peresvetovsky shore, the wind in the pines, fragrant strawberries, the quiet murmur of the river, the crackling of branches in the fire, intimate conversations at the quaint roots and the distant horizon, which gave a feeling of harmony and flight, and also gave rise to creative impulses among local artists and poets.
In addition, let me remind you that the cordodrome, karting, the second skating rink and the ecological trail have disappeared.
The problem is that residents, not all of whom are skiers, can use the ski slope for free for a maximum of 3-4 months a year. In fact, ordinary athletes, not athletes, taking into account thaws and severe frosts, go on skis - 5-7, well, 10, maximum 12 times per season, which means per year. But the rest of the time you can’t enter the forest!
In winter, it is still possible to partially understand that on competition days - preparation and maintenance of the ski slope, athletes fly at high speeds. But why can’t we visit OUR forest park from April to December?
The problem is that the opportunity to go to barbecue, take a walk with families, with children, with dogs, in good company with a guitar, look for mushrooms, listen to birds, look at nimble squirrels or find a woodpecker at work among the trees has been taken away. But what about admiring the river, dreaming while the water murmurs, seeing the beavers that have bred there?
Whose is this now?
And in general, why on any day, at any time, is it not possible to go with a baby stroller to shady alleys or just leave the table with guests and go to the river and breathe?
The problem is that some people began to earn money in our forest park, while others did not have a place where they could relax. After all, not everyone has dachas far from industrial and biathlon centers.
The future of the territory lies in dual use
I believe that we need to return to the idea of creating a park in Peresvet and exactly in the place where it was planned a long time ago: walking distance, a unique landscape, a river, birds, squirrels, a picturesque corner close and familiar from childhood.
The time has long come for the systematic development of the concept of a city park, holding competitions for its name, for the design of individual corners. It is necessary to decide on the status of the territory, its future, record it in documents and methodically move forward, creating regulations and rules for its general visit and use.
The fence is already there, the lights have been installed, all that remains is to make pedestrian paths, put up benches, three to five playgrounds, set up places for fires and please, people, take a walk, relax.
It is clear that there is a lot of work and questions. But we, the residents of Peresvet, and not just investors, should have a beautiful forest park perspective!
I think that joint YEAR-ROUND use of the forested area would be the right decision. There are opportunities. A unique natural resource. And we, Peresvetites, must do this for ourselves, for our children and grandchildren.
Recreation and Sports Park
With a patient and balanced approach, a beautiful park can appear in Peresvet, corresponding to the status of the city, its people, its history.
It would be nice, when creating a park, to reflect the main profession of the city - work on space exploration. Or maybe we will all come up with some other idea that will be more exciting, broaden our horizons, worldview, and more suitable for the park. I think there is no doubt about the creative imagination of the townspeople.
And you have to be ready to hear everyone! At the same time, it is necessary to constantly remember about the balance of interests of recreation and sports, and to make responsible decisions, involve professionals and pay great attention to the experience of neighbors.
It’s worth taking a closer look at the cool practice of placing modern sculpture on the main street and the Pokrovsky park created near the walls of the ancient monastery - all in the city of Khotkovo.
And of course, it will be necessary to visit, more than once, to gain inspiration when creating our park, the unique park-museum “Abramtsevo”, where everything breathes with the unfading tradition and charm of a classic Russian estate. There is something to look up to!
In any case, it seems to me that it would be great to build a large beautiful rotunda with white columns in the forest on a high bank and, perhaps, none, to look into the distance and enjoy the sunsets and sunrises. And name one of them - “Rotunda named after S.N. Kondratiev”, in memory of a man who knew how to look into the future and boldly dreamed.
And in this rotunda, on weekends, let a brass band play, and nearby they sell ice cream, coffee, pies and soda. And in such beauty, in such being, as they say, human consciousness will be determined completely differently. For the better.
The question of how to combine recreation, physical education and sports in one territory is not an easy one. But I'm sure it's solvable!

Urban settlement Peresvet
The municipal formation "Urban settlement Peresvet" is located in the northeast of the Moscow region on the territory of the Sergiev Posad district, consisting of: the city of Peresvet; the village of Parfenovo and the villages of Krasnaya Storozhka, Ignatyevo, Kovrovo, Samoilovo. The urban settlement covers an area of 3.2 thousand hectares, the population is 15 thousand people, including 5.5 thousand children. The average age of residents is 46 years. Peresvet was founded in 1948. Until 2000 - Novostroika village. Population – 17 thousand inhabitants. The city's housing stock is 95 houses. The city-forming enterprise is the Research Institute of Chemical Engineering. The leading enterprise of the Russian Aviation and Space Agency for testing and ground testing of rocket engines, spacecraft, satellites, and orbital stations. The first test of the first domestic R-1 rocket was successfully completed on December 18, 1949.
Peresvet is a young modern city with a colorful history and great prospects, a city with a strong assertive character, high intelligence, youthful enthusiasm and bold initiative.
The city-forming enterprise of the city is the Federal State Enterprise "Research and Testing Center for the Rocket and Space Industry" (FKP "NIC RKP"), until mid-2008 - the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Scientific Research Institute of Chemical Engineering" (FSUE "NIIKHIMMASH"). The institute was the second workplace of world-famous scientists and rocketry designers - Sergei Korolev, Valentin Glushko, Vladimir Chelomey. The launch vehicles of the first artificial earth satellite and the Vostok spacecraft, on which Yuri Gagarin flew into space, all spacecraft that went into deep space, and manned spacecraft were tested at the institute's test benches; long-term orbital stations “Salyut”, “Mir”; spacecraft “Luna”, “Mars”, “Venus”, “Phobos”, satellites “Ekran”, “Rainbow”, “Molniya”; control system for the ship "Buran", etc. For their services in mastering new technology, the institute's employees were awarded high state awards and bonuses. There is not a single family in the city that does not have something to do with space technology.
Simultaneously with the creation of the NIIKHIMMASH enterprise, 17 km from the regional center of Zagorsk (now Sergiev Posad) and 80 km from the capital of Russia, Moscow, the living village of Novostroika began to be built on the right steep bank of the Kunya River. Since the fall of 1948, more and more people began to arrive at the new construction site. The builders were housed in 12-person soldiers' tents. A memorial sign was erected on the site of the first tents. It was planned to build a village for 1,800 residents with subsequent expansion to 3,000 people. By March 1949, 117 Finnish panel houses had been built. They also housed the institute’s personnel department, a nursery, a school library, a hairdresser, a store, and a canteen. In 1950, construction of the first brick houses began, and in 1961, the Cosmos Palace of Culture opened its doors.
In March 2000, by decree of the Government of the Russian Federation, the village of Novostroika was given the name - the city of Peresvet. A new stage of development has begun. In 1998, local government bodies were formed and the village became independent. In 2005, the first elections of local government bodies of the municipal formation “City of Peresvet” were held in the city of Peresvet. The Head of the city of Peresvet and the Council of Deputies, consisting of 15 people, were elected; in 2009, second elections were held: Yuri Borisovich Antonov was elected Head of the city, Andrei Vyacheslavovich Bulkin was elected Chairman of the Council of Deputies.
In 2006, the Council of Deputies approved the Flag and Coat of Arms of the municipal formation "City of Peresvet". The coat of arms depicts the Russian hero, Saint Alexander Peresvet , glorified in 1380 by his duel with Chelubey at the beginning of the Battle of Kulikovo. The monk of the Trinity Monastery of Peresvet, inspired by Sergius of Radonezh, went to a heroic battle with the Horde member Chelubey. The cross on the shield corresponds to the blessing of Peresvet for the battle by St. Sergius of Radonezh, whose name is given to the area where the city is located. Bogatyr shows the constant desire of city residents for perfection. Silver four-pointed stars indicate the city's connection with space. The blue color symbolizes space. Gold represents strength, greatness, wealth, intelligence, generosity and insight, and in relation to the character depicted on the coat of arms, the radiance of holiness - the heraldic analogue of a halo. The fluttering golden cloak behind Peresvet symbolizes the fire escaping from the rocket engine nozzle during fire tests of rocket and space technology products at the stands of NIICHIMMASH. Red color is a symbol of courage, activity, energy, celebration, sacrifice, beauty.
Today the city of Peresvet is a successfully developing city. In addition to the head enterprise, the following enterprises have been created and are successfully operating: Zagorsk Installation Management OJSC, Composite Materials Plant LLC (production of slate tiles), New Pipe Technologies - Peresvet LLC (production of pipes of various diameters), White Windows LLC ( production of plastic windows) and others. The city's housing stock consists of permanent buildings. With a total area of 294.4 thousand m2. There are 95 small enterprises operating on the territory of the municipality. The city of Peresvet is the location of the riot police of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the Moscow Region “Peresvet”. For the courage and heroism shown in the performance of duty, the soldiers of the detachment were awarded orders of courage.
A network has been created in the city: a) educational institutions: - higher professional education - representative office of the Moscow State University of Technology and Management; – secondary vocational education – Sergiev Posad Radio Mechanical College; — secondary general education — Secondary schools No. 5 and 8 with in-depth study of individual subjects; - primary school and preschool education: Primary school - kindergarten No. 7 of the compensating type "Rodnichok", Kindergarten No. 22 of supervision and health "Teremok", Kindergarten No. 26 of the combined type "Firefly", Kindergarten No. 27 of the combined type "Alyonushka" ; - additional education for children: Children's art school "Harmony", Children's music school No. 4, Children's and youth sports school "Chaika", Station for young technicians "Sputnik"; b) cultural and sports institutions: House of Culture "Cosmos", Library named after A.V. The largest settlements and historical monuments.
Church of the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God
In 2000, a courtyard of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra was opened in the city of Peresvet, one of several Lavra farmsteads in the Sergiev Posad region.
At first, the farmstead was located in the building of a former kindergarten. In 2005, a wooden church with thrones was built in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the Iveron Icon of the Mother of God. The new temple became the basis of the Lavra courtyard.
The small brethren of the courtyard located in the center of the city conducts active social and educational work among the townspeople.
At the courtyard there is an Orthodox military-patriotic club, created on the basis of the Sergiev Posad riot police. The children's theater "Svechechka" annually holds Christmas parties and performs its performances in kindergartens. A charity service has been organized at the farmstead, which provides patronage assistance to the sick and financial assistance to those in need.
The rector of the metochion of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra in the city of Peresvet is Priest Konstantin Kharitonov.
Chapel of St. Hieromartyr Hermogenes on the territory of the riot police of the Municipal Department of Internal Affairs of the Moscow Region, Peresvet
In memory of the soldiers of the Sergiev Posad riot police who died on March 2, 2000 in the Staropromyslovsky district of Grozny in 2003, an icon was painted by a graduate of the Icon Painting School of Moscow Theological Schools with the blessing of His Grace Theognost, Bishop of Sergiev Posad, vicar of the Trinity Sergius Lavra, and consecrated in honor of the Hieromartyr Hermogenes, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus'.
The basis was taken from an ancient Novgorod icon, in the lower part of which the family of a Novgorod merchant is written, praying for the forgiveness of their sins.
The icon is divided into two parts. At the top is the Deesis rite: the Lord Pantocrator with the upcoming Mother of God, St. John the Baptist, St. Archangel Michael, St. Great Martyr George the Victorious, St. Hieromartyr Hermogenes, Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus', St. John the warrior, St. Venerable Sergius of Radonezh, St. Blessed Prince Dmitry Donskoy, St. Reverend Martyrs Alexander Peresvet and Andrei Oslyabey. The lower part of the icon depicts fallen soldiers. First row from left to right: Tikhomirov G.V., Klishin S.M., Terentyev M.A., Markelov D.A., commander, Varlamov S.V., Volkov O.N., Lavrenov E.V., Vinakov R.A., Second row: Shilikhin A.N., Fedin D.V., Lazarev A.V., Mikhailov V.V., Chernysh V.V., Ipatov A.V. With. Parfenovo
Parfenovo of the Mishutinsky camp of Pereyaslavsky district on the Kunya River has been known since the 20s of the 17th century as a patrimonial village with a wooden Church of the Epiphany. At the end of the 18th - beginning of the 19th century, the village was part of the Ereminsky volost of the Alexandrovsky district of the Vladimir province and belonged to Major Pyotr Andreevich Astafiev, and after his death in 1830 - to his daughter, E.P. Tolstoy (nee Astafieva).
In 1895 there were 149 people in the village, in January 1927 - 220, today - 5 people.
Church of the Epiphany
A stone church in honor of the Epiphany with a chapel in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God was built instead of a dilapidated wooden church at the expense of the parishioners and the owner of the village, Kolezhsky Assessor P.A. Astafieva. The sanctuary for construction was received in 1807. The church was built in 1810 - 1813 and consecrated on July 1, 1814 by Archpriest Peter Likharev, dean of the city of Alexander's Cathedral of the Nativity.
According to experts, the Church of the Epiphany is distinguished by the duality of its architecture: with developed external forms of mature classicism, the structure of its interior and design are associated with a much earlier era.
The Church of the Epiphany was placed away from the old wooden church and the cemetery next to it. In 1815, the wooden church, with the blessing of Vladimir Bishop Xenophon, was dismantled and used to bake bricks for the church fence. The place where the wooden temple stood was marked by a stone chapel.
In March 1832, the daughter of P.A. Astafieva Lieutenant Colonel E.P. Tolstaya (nee Astafieva) turned to the Bishop of Vladimir Parthenius with a request to allow her to fulfill the will of her parent, to add a chapel to the church in the name of St. Peter, Metropolitan of Moscow.
