City of Fountains

Firstly, there are numerous fountains. Different, unusual, colorful, singing.

For example, here is a fountain in the form of trees in the Upper Park.

And this is a whole staircase-fountain on Petrovsky Descent. She is beautiful during the day, but at night, when the lights are turned on, she is simply magnificent)

The fountains of the Komsomolsky Pond may not be clear from the photograph, but they are quite tall and are also illuminated in the evening.

This is the singing fountain on Peter's Square.

A simple fountain in the Novolipetsk district of the city.

In Victory Park, water comes out of the ground.

Small fountains near the drama theater.

But to see them in all their glory you need to come in the summer. Now the fountains are closed. But even without them you will have something to do.

And now I want to tell you about the excursion that we visited with the children back on October 9th. This is not even an excursion, but a whole excursion route called “Lipetsk Kaleidoscope”. And indeed, like a kaleidoscope, the places we were able to visit changed. There were five such places in total.

Lipetsk Zoo

Since the excursion was primarily aimed at children, it would have been a sin not to look at the zoo, which is also located on the territory of the Lower Park.

The zoo here is super!

There are a lot of animals, they are all kept in good conditions, they are clean, they look healthy and the cages are also clean. Interestingly, many animals have adoptive parents, as the zoo operates under the Animal Adoption program. And on many cages there are signs on which are written the names of people or organizations who are foster parents.

Anyone can adopt an animal; to do this, they need to enter into an agreement with the zoo and deposit a certain amount of money. This money goes to the maintenance of the animals, and “parents” are necessarily invited to various events held at the zoo. In the future we are planning to adopt someone.

Of course, we have been to the zoo before, but every time the children are delighted when they meet these beautiful pink flamingos.

Or an orgome bison.

Cute striped zebra.

We also went into the terrarium. We looked at different lizards.

Huge spiders and cockroaches.

House of Peter the Great

We have a Nizhny park in the city. The park is quite large, green, there are benches, walking paths, a summer green theater, various cafes and attractions. It would be strange if there was no fountain in the Lower Park. He looks like this.

In the center of the composition is a linden tree - a symbol of our city.

Interestingly, there used to be a large dam on the site of this park. But then the dam was removed and trees were planted.

Not long ago the park underwent reconstruction. After that it became much more comfortable there. Various bronze figures have appeared with which you can take a photo as a souvenir.

Lipetsk was founded in 1703 by order of Peter I. The construction of iron factories for the needs of the Russian army and navy began on the Lipovka River.

That is why there is a lot of Petrovsky in the city. There is Petrovsky Bridge, Petrovsky Market, Descent. The city square, where the most significant city events take place, also bears the name of Peter the Great.

After the reconstruction of the Lower Park, a new attraction appeared there - Peter’s house.

This is a copy of a historical building from the 18th century - the “Travel Palace of Peter the Great”, which three centuries ago stood next to the Lipetsk mineral water source.

The house has: a vestibule, a hall, a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen and a room for the valet.

This small-looking house contains a lot of exhibits related to Peter the Great. This is such a small and interesting museum.

For example, there is a machine there that was used to comb wool in Peter’s times.

There is a table at which the king dined and chairs for it, on which everyone could sit.

All this is huge. As you know, Peter the Great was a tall man - 205 cm. And with such a height, the king had size 39 feet and a disproportionately small head.

Even the porcelain service from which the king and his entourage drank tea was preserved.

Children and adults listened to the guide with their mouths open. At the same time, you could touch, try and get a good look at everything.

Leisure

It is impossible not to mention those places in Lipetsk where adults and children can have plenty of fun and stretch their arms and legs; here they will receive a boost of adrenaline, energy and positivity:

  1. The Lipetsk paintball club on Astrakhanskaya Street is located in the Left Bank district. Allows you to have fun with the whole family, shooting at each other with paint balls under the watchful supervision of instructors. And after the spirited shooting ranges, you can relax in a specially designated recreation area, where everything is equipped to allow visitors to completely relax.

  2. The “Street Hunter” paintball club, located on Lesoparkovaya Street, gives adults and children the opportunity to feel like the heroes of an action movie unfolding among a deciduous forest, enchanting with its beauty. Moreover, after the battles you will be able to take a steam bath, swim in the pool and eat delicious food in the recreation area.
  3. Also, city residents speak enthusiastically about the “Baghira” laser tag in Lipetsk, which is located on Studenovskaya Street, in building 124A, in the shopping area on the third floor. Here you will need to shoot at other players and interactive targets in a specially built maze, in conditions of limited visibility, using infrared and laser beams. Such a vacation will be extremely fun and exciting.

Museum of Local Lore

Having talked to our hearts with representatives of the earth's fauna, we boarded a sightseeing bus and went to the local history museum.

It is located on Lenin Street.

Yes, friends, we, too, like many other cities in Russia, have Lenin Street. And there is another interesting place where the story connects. This is Lenin - Cathedral Square. Already in the name there is a certain dissonance. On this square, directly opposite each other, are the monument to the leader of the world proletariat and the Nativity of Christ Cathedral.

Let's return to the museum. The museum has many different exhibitions.

There is an exhibition entirely dedicated to Peter the Great. There is a life-size figure of the king.

There is a children's exhibition. It's called "We come from childhood." There you can see old toys, school textbooks and notebooks, old desks and even rods. It was interesting for me to look at different collections from our childhood: candy wrappers, inserts, postcards. Nostalgia has attacked)

There is an exhibition dedicated to the times of Soviet power.

The Literary Living Room hall tells about our great writers, whose lives are in one way or another connected with the Lipetsk region. Pushkin and Bunin, Lermontov and Tolstoy. There are many photographs in the hall, and there are also personal belongings of the writers.

The museum also has exhibitions dedicated to Holy Rus', the history of musical instruments, and the nature of our region.
