The Noginsk municipal district is located between the Klyazma , Vori and Sherna and occupies the eastern part of the Moscow region. It borders with the municipal districts of Ramensky, Shchelkovsky, Pavlovo-Posad, the urban districts of Zheleznodorozhny, Balashikha, Chernogolovka, Elektrostal, as well as the Kirzhachsky district of the Vladimir region. The Noginsk municipal district includes 10 municipalities - 5 urban settlements and 5 rural settlements. The largest settlement in the region and its administrative center is the city of Noginsk .

The district is one of the largest districts of the Moscow region. Its area is 89.3 thousand hectares. As of January 1, 2011, 231,285 people lived in the district.

The territory of the Noginsk region in the XIV-XVI centuries. was the patrimony of the Great Moscow Princes. The prehistory of the city is connected with the village of Rogozhi - the center of the Rogozhsky camp, first mentioned in the spiritual charter of Dmitry Donskoy in 1389.

The village stood on the great Vladimir road, which connected the capital with Vladimir and Nizhny Novgorod. Constant communication with Moscow and a large number of passing merchants with goods contributed to the rapid economic growth of Rogozh and the development of crafts and handicrafts there.

By the middle of the 19th century, the growth of the city was facilitated by the rapid development of industry. In 1856, Z.S. Morozov established a joint-stock company, which became one of the largest textile enterprises in Russia. Factories are gaining momentum, and names are beginning to be heard that will glorify Russian entrepreneurship: Morozovs, Elagins, Shibaevs, Zotovs, Brunovs. Textile factories mainly produced cotton, silk, and woolen fabrics.

The territory of Bogorodsky district significantly exceeded the current Noginsky district . It included Sergiev-Posad, the village of Orekhovo (now the city of Orekhovo-Zuevo), the village of Pavlovo (now the city of Pavlovsky-Posad), parts of the Shchelkovsky and Ramensky districts, the current territory of the city of Elektrostal.

In connection with the administrative reform carried out in 1781, by a personal decree of Catherine II , the village of Rogozhi was transformed into the district town of Bogorodsk as part of the Moscow province. There were 56 houses in the city, in which 561 people lived. These were merchants, townspeople, commoners, coachmen, and clergy.

In 1927, the Bogorodsky district arose. And in 1930, in honor of the revolutionary V.P. Nogin , who worked at the Bogorodsko-Glukhovskaya manufactory, Bogorodsk was renamed Noginsk, and the district, accordingly, Noginsky.

The modern boundaries of the territory of the Noginsk municipal district are established by the Law of the Moscow Region dated February 28, 2005. No. 82/2005-OZ “On the status and boundaries of the Noginsk municipal district and newly formed municipalities within it”

The economy of the Noginsk region is represented by developed industrial production, agriculture, construction, trade and catering enterprises, transport and communications, housing and communal services and other industries.

On the territory of the Noginsk region there are 166 historical and cultural monuments that are under state protection, of which 42 are monuments of federal significance. Of these, we can note: one of the best and surviving monuments of wooden architecture in the Moscow region is the Ascension Church Church of the Intercession of the Virgin was built in 1833 . Architectural monuments are the Nikolaevskaya Hermitage , the Birlyukovskaya Hermitage (in the 19th century it was revived by Metropolitan Platon), the Assumption Stromynsky Monastery with the preserved chapel over the grave of St. Savva Stromynsky, the Epiphany Cathedral and the Tikhvin Church .

In the old linden park of the village of Ivashevo, the original Trinity Church (1815) in the Empire style is being restored, at the 63rd km. On Gorkovskoye Highway in the village of Bogoslovo stands the parish Assumption (Kazan) Church (mid-19th century) in the Empire style.

On the territory of the modern city there are ancient estates - Volkhonka (Torbeevo), which in the past belonged to the Volkhonskys; Glukhovo , which was owned by the Morozovs and where residential buildings of the early 20th century in the Art Nouveau style, utility buildings and a vast landscape park, Uspenskoye with a two-story main house and the Assumption Church (1756) in the Baroque style have been preserved.
