Troitsk is located 18 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road along the Kaluga Highway. This distance to Moscow can be covered by personal transport or by bus (minibus) going to the Teply Stan metro station; there is no railway in Troitsk.

The city itself has an interesting history. In 1627, the chronicle mentions Trinity Heath, which became a village 20 years later thanks to the construction of the Trinity Church. The history of the village of Troitsky is connected with the emergence of a large cloth (now worsted) factory. The Trinity Worsted Factory is the oldest city enterprise. It has long played a decisive role in the development of the village and settlement of Troitsky and has not lost its influence on the life of the modern Troitsk-science city.

The question of the founding date of the factory still causes debate, and local historians have not reached a consensus. For example, in the authoritative publication “Cities of the Moscow Region” [15] the date “1797” is indicated. It became widespread - to the point that it was immortalized with a memorial plaque at the factory entrance. However, Troitsk researchers did not find such a date in the archives, and its origin is not clear.

The factory expanded rapidly. In the middle of the 19th century, it already employed 370 people. All factory products were sent on horseback along the Starokaluga Road to Moscow. In 1885, the factory had 2,340 spindles, 27 weaving looms and 50 self-looms; of the four dozen workers, two thirds were residents of the county.

The history of the factory is still waiting for its researcher. Until 1917, among its owners the following were mentioned: father and sons Prokhorov, [19] a certain Alexandrov, merchant Kupfer, Colonel Voight, a family of either Swiss or German Riches. In 1877, a school was opened at the factory, located in one room. At the school, 12 children who worked at the factory and 18 peasant children from neighboring villages learned the basics of literacy. In 1918 the factory was nationalized. During the Civil War, its workers and employees contributed hundreds of thousands of rubles to the Red Army fund and provided assistance to the starving.

The development of the factory led to the growth of the factory village, which in 1928 was transformed into the working village of Troitsky with a population of 1,500 people.

Composition of Moscow

• The North-Western Administrative District includes 8 districts, namely Khoroshevo-Mnevniki, Kurkino, Mitino, Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo, Strogino, Northern and Southern Tushino, as well as Shchukino.
• There are twice as many districts in the Northern Administrative Okrug. This autonomous district includes Airport, Voynikovsky, Begovoy, Eastern Degunino, Beskudnikovsky, Dmitrovsky, Golovinsky, Koptevo, Western Degunino, Levoberezhny, Savelovsky, Molzhaninvsky, Sokol, Khovrino, Timiryazevsky and Khoroshevsky.
• The North-Eastern Autonomous District is even larger, comprising as many as 17 districts - Butyrsky, Alekseevsky, Babushkinsky, Altufevsky, Bibirevo, Marfino, Lianozovo. This also includes Maryina Roshcha, Losinoostrovsky, Ostankino, Rostokino, Otradnoe, Severny, Sviblovo, Northern and Southern Medvedkovo, as well as Yaroslavl.
• The CJSC includes 13 districts, namely Prospekt Vernadskogo, Ochakovo-Matveevskoye, Solntsevo, Ramenki, Novo-Peredelkino, Kuntsevo, Mozhaisky, Krylatoe, Dorogomilovo, Vnukovo, Troparevo-Nikulino, Fili-Davydkovo and Filevsky Park.
• Slightly smaller in number of districts is the Central Autonomous Okrug (there are 10 of them) - Arbat, Tverskoy, Khamovniki, Presnensky, Basmanny, Krasnoselsky, Zamoskvorechye, Meshchansky, Tagansky and Yakimanka.
• There are 16 districts in the Eastern Autonomous District - Izmailovo, Northern and Eastern Izmailovo, Bogorodskoye, Veshnyaki, Vostochny, Ivanovskoye, Golyanovo, Perovo, Metrogorodsk, Kosino-Ukhtomkiy. This also includes Novokosino, Novogireevo, Preobrazhenskoye, Sokolinaya Gora and Sokolniki.
• There are 12 districts in the South-Western Administrative District - Lomonosovsky, Kotlovka, Zyuzino, Gagarinsky, Academichesky, Konkovo, Obruchevsky, Northern and Southern Butovo, Yasenovo, Cheryomushki and Teply Stan.
• There are 16 districts in the Southern Autonomous District - Western and Eastern Biryulyovo, Danilovsky, Donskoy and Zyablikovo, as well as Nagatinsky Zaton, Nagatino-Sadovniki, Moskovoreche-Saburovo, Nagorny, Orekhovo-Borisovo (Southern and Northern), as well as Tsaritsyno and Chertanovo (Southern, Central and Northern).
• There are 12 districts in the SEAD - Kapotnya, Vykhino-Zhulebino, Kuzminki, Nekrasovka, Maryino, Lyublino, Lefortovo, Nizhegorodsky, Tekstilshchiki, Ryazansky, Pechatniki and Yuzhnoportovy.
• There are 5 districts in the Western Autonomous District - Staroye Krylo, Silino, Savelki, Kryukovo and Matushkino.
• In the NAO there are 11 such districts: Desenovskoye, Voskresenskoye, Vnukovskoye, Kokoshkino, Moskovsky, Marushkinskoye, Ryazanskoye, Mosrentgen, Sosenskoye, Filimonovskoye and Shcherbinka.
• There are 10 districts in the Troitsky Autonomous District - Kyiv, Voronovskoye, Klenovskoye, Mikhailovo-Yartsevoye, Krasnopakhorskoye, Pervomaiskoye, Nefedovskoye, Rogovskoye, Shchapovskoye and Troitsk.

As of 2022, the territory of Moscow includes 22 municipal formations. In addition, the cadastral plan includes cities and villages such as Mosrentgen, Moskovsky, Shcherbinka, Troitsk, Kokoshkino, Shchapovskoye, Ryazanovskoye, Pervomaiskoye and many others.

In 1955, by decision of the executive committee of the Moscow Regional Council, it was decided to administratively subordinate to the Trinity Council the following settlements: the Krasnaya Pakhra rest house, the Soviet Writer DSK, the children's town of the Administration of the Council of Ministers of the RSFSR, the residential village of the Construction Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR and the pioneer camp of the Directorate of Special Communications located on the territory of the Pervomaisky village council. [20] Tvardovsky lived at the dacha of the Soviet Writer DSK, where he died in 1971. [21]

The science

At the beginning of 1938, near the village, on the 40th km of the Kaluga Highway, the Main Directorate of the Hydrometeorological Service began to build the building of the Moscow Geophysical Observatory. At the end of the war, this construction served as the basis for the creation of the Scientific Research Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism (IZMIRAN), transferred from near Leningrad.

In 1952, construction began on the Magnetic Laboratory (future TRINITY).

In the 60s The research base of the village began to expand: in the immediate vicinity of IZMIRAN, a plot of about 4 hectares was allocated for the construction of structures for the Institute of High Pressure Physics, which worked in Moscow.

Simultaneously with the formation and development of the Institute of Terrestrial Magnetism, residential and cultural construction was carried out. In the first post-war years, small two-story brick houses were built near IZMIRAN. The first residential building with 8 apartments was founded on Sunday, April 18, 1948. (This house still stands to this day, it is located at the address: Pushkov St., no. 1.) Almost simultaneously, small residential cottages began to be built. Then several four-story brick and five-story panel houses were built. The pace of construction increased sharply due to the emergence of new institutes of the USSR Academy of Sciences. In the early 1960s, the population of Troitsky was about 5 thousand inhabitants.

On July 22, 1966, by order of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences, the “Scientific Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Krasnaya Pakhra” was formed, after the name of the nearest large settlement. New institutes of the USSR Academy of Sciences are being formed in the city.

The center of medical care for the population of the village became the hospital named after. Semashko, which arose at the end of the 19th century. as a hospital for infectious patients - residents of Moscow. Subsequently, she changed her appointment more than once.

Much has changed at the Trinity factory. In 1976 it was completely refurbished. The enterprise received a new name - Trinity Worsted Factory.

In terms of the structure of the population, way of life, cultural and social support, Akademgorodok has turned into a developed city of scientific and production profile with a population with a very high educational level, engaged in highly skilled labor in production and science. Around 1970, the population of Troitsky reached 12 thousand inhabitants.

On March 23, 1977, the urban village of Troitsky was transformed into the city of Troitsk with a population of 20 thousand people.

On January 29, 2007, by Russian government decree No. 52, the city was awarded the status of a science city.

The absence of large industrial enterprises made it possible to maintain an environmentally friendly environment in Troitsk and its surroundings.
