↑ History of Lakinsk
The city of Lakins is the legal successor of the village of Undol. The village was rich, as it was located on an important road from Vladimir to Moscow. The first mention of the place dates back to the 15th century. Soon the place was nicknamed “the sad valley.” The fact was that convicts who were moving east from the western part of Russia made a stop here. Lakinsk is famous for the fact that the village of Undol has been the estate of the Suvorov family since the 17th century. The great commander Alexander Vasilyevich often visited here.
At the end of the 19th century, the Bazhanov merchants opened a weaving factory here. The factory gave the town new life, and farm and residential buildings began to appear around it. The place, which became a new force of attraction, was popularly called Bazhanovka. In 1917, a revolution occurred in Russia and the Civil War began. The new government imposed its own rules, culture, renamed factories and streets in a new way.
The factory of the Bazhanov merchants began to bear the name of the revolutionary Lakin, who was killed here in 1905. The factory developed, and soon the place received the status of a workers' village of Lakinsky. In the middle of the 20th century, after the end of the Great Patriotic War, new lands became part of the village: Undol, Alekseevka, Bykovka, lands of factories and military units. A few years later, in 1969, the village received city status.
Administrative and municipal status[edit]
As part of the administrative-territorial division, Lakinsk is directly subordinate to the Sobinsky district. [1] As a municipal division, the city of Lakinsk is included within the Sobinsky Municipal District as the Lakinsk urban settlement

↑ Industry and economy of Lakinsk
Lakinsk is actively developing as an industrial satellite of Vladimir. The city is famous for its brewery, which in addition to beer produces soft carbonated drinks under various brands. The plant's products are popular not only in the Vladimir region. There is its own milk, furniture factory "Lakinsk-mebel", snacks are made at the production of Klin Snacks LLC and bread supplies the city's needs for bakery products.
It is worth paying special attention. This is a joint Russian-Dutch enterprise, which is a market leader in the production of animal feed and premixes. The company was opened in 2009. Since then, the company has been providing its products not only to the entire region, but also to the regions of the Central Federal District. The plant's capacity for the production of premixes is 120 thousand tons per year, the capacity of the prestarter plant is 30 thousand tons per year. The plant employs more than 250 people.
Alexey Andrianov is the new city manager of Lakinsk
“I’m not a new person in the city of Lakinsk; for three years I was a deputy of the Sobinsky district council for the district that includes Lakinsk. I'll get straight to my plans. Today we talked about the draft budget for 2019. The most important problem facing the city, you know, we have a subsidized budget, we will receive a shortfall of about 11.5 million rubles. 22 million is the municipal debt to the regional budget and 7 million is the debt to commercial banks. Of course, I believe that we will work very actively with the administration’s tax collection commission; I consider it necessary to organize measures to check developers for the timely commissioning of individual housing structures, and to reconcile data with the tax office.
The city has enormous economic potential. We are located on the federal highway, sandwiched between the regional capital and the capital of our country. All those industrial institutions that the city has, all land plots must be brought into proper condition, and through the White House structures they must be shown to potential investors. We have a difficult situation with the Lakinsky manufactory. I believe that we need to continue moving forward to assign Lakinsk the status of a single-industry town and a priority development area. In this way we can solve many issues. In our region there is a very good example that has been implemented in recent years - this is Kameshkovo.
The problem area is housing and communal services. The deterioration of networks is 70-90%. In the private sector, in some places we have a complete lack of water supply and sanitation. I believe that here it is necessary to develop an investment program for the Lakinsky Vodokanal and be included in regional programs to receive funds. On the territory of the Lakinskaya manufactory we have a second lift station, which for a long time has not been delivering water to the central region according to standard conditions. You know, now there is already a plan from the city administration to build an artesian well on Gorky Street. My task is to achieve the realization of these goals.
We have been waiting for a long time to implement the decision of the Sobinsky City Court to bring our wastewater treatment plants to standard condition. This is also a very big problem for a long time. But through a single-industry town, this problem can be solved.
8 of our houses are classified as demolished, and about 36 are potentially unsafe. The program for relocation from dilapidated housing in 2022 will be filled with a lot of money - about 5.4 billion rubles for the entire region. I see my task as bringing the necessary funds to Lakinsk to solve this problem.
The repair of the federal highway was completed long ago, but a number of roads and sidewalks are still in poor condition. We will seek additional funds from the regional budget to solve this problem.
In 2022, it is necessary to continue work on replacing street lighting fixtures with energy-saving ones. We also have a very acute problem with our Lakin cemetery, here we will develop a project for planning and marking the territory and organize work to drain rain and flood waters.
The development zone on Astrakhanskaya Street is expanding; I consider it necessary to restore the pedestrian bridge across the Undolka River from Naberezhnaya Street in 2022.
In the social sphere, two municipal institutions require attention - the stadium and the city cultural center. Both are in poor condition. In 2022, we will receive 6.5 million rubles for the House of Culture. Every year, savings are maintained under the program, which is administered by the Department of Culture, and I believe that we have the opportunity to qualify for these funds earlier than 2022.
Funds are needed to design a sports and recreation center in Lakinsk. This worries almost everyone. This problem must begin to be solved at the end of 2022, and by 2022 the construction of this facility must be completed by inclusion in the regional program.
We have two schools. The first school is under reconstruction. I understand that this is not our authority, but I will strive for the speedy reconstruction of school No. 1, so as not to create discomfort for another school.
The issue of building a new clinic has long been overdue. This issue is under development. I will be working on this issue with the health department.
Since 2022, the Urban Environment program has been launched to help all municipalities. I consider it necessary to actively participate in this program and create more and more objects for it.
By transport. The route “Krasnoarmeiskaya-Stroteley-Sovkhoznaya-Gorky Street” is long overdue. I really hope that in the short term we will also achieve a solution to this issue through private carriers.
According to the city newspaper. I consider it necessary to maintain its funding, since the newspaper is very necessary. We must be very open, inform the public about how the administration and the Council work. I don't see any other communicator here. Everyone is worried about this amount - 1.1 million rubles. I would suggest ways to reduce these costs, for example, by distributing this newspaper. I think this will lead to a decrease in budget funds.
The work of the administration is not political work. “I am ready to build relationships with every deputy, regardless of political leanings.”
↑ Interesting facts
- Lakinsk is rightfully considered the small homeland of Alexander Suvorov. He lived on an Undol estate, which he later inherited from his father. On the estate he maintained a serf theater and built a school for children.
- The city owes its modern name to the revolutionary Mikhail Ignatievich Lakin. Lakin came to Undol in order to create a social democratic circle at a local factory. But his endeavors were not destined to come true; the revolutionary was killed by the Black Hundreds.
- The famous collector of monuments of Slavic writing, Vukol Mikhailovich Undolsky, was a native of Lakinsk.
- The poet Matvey Ivanovich Ozhego worked for some time as a cashier at the local railway station.
↑ Sights of Lakinsk
Lakinsk is a small town, but, like any provincial town, it has its own flavor and charm. Here you can see monuments to the Soviet past - Lenin, Gorky, and the revolutionary Lakin. There is a monument dedicated to the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow - the sculpture is called “Transfer of the Olympic Flame.”
The Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God deserves special attention from the traveler. The history of the temple began in 1693. Later, by order of Suvorov, a warm chapel, a refectory and a bell tower were added to the small wooden church. After the revolution, the temple was closed and turned into a car repair shop. In the 90s of the 20th century, the church began to be restored.
