One of the pearls of not only the Anapa region, but also the entire Krasnodar Territory, is the resort village of Dzhemete, located 8 kilometers northwest of Anapa.
- Anapa
This village is a centralized resort area, fully aimed at creating ideal conditions for vacationers. It consists of hotels, boarding houses, guest houses and holiday homes, canteens, cafes, restaurants, children's attractions, walking alleys and, most importantly, wide and equipped sandy beaches, which many compare with the Golden Sands of Bulgaria.
Dzhemete is located northwest of Anapa and has a wider coastline
History of the village of Dzhemete
The name of the village - Dzhemete - translated from Adyghe, sounds like “golden sands”. And, indeed, this suburb of Anapa, like neighboring Vityazevo, is famous for its long and wide golden sandy beaches.
This territory passed to Russia, like other Black Sea settlements of the Krasnodar Territory, in the late 30s of the 19th century. Then a Russian fortified fortress was created on the site of the current resort, and it remained such until the end of the 80s of the same century.
The sandy coast formed naturally in the Dzhemete area
More vibrant life in this sandy area began in the late 80s and early 90s of the 19th century. General D. Pilenko drew attention to him
and began to develop waste lands, planting vineyards there. The enterprising general found followers, and soon this area turned into one of the centers of viticulture. Local grapes made excellent quality wine.
After the revolution, the farms that miraculously survived the devastation became the property of the state, and on their basis the first Kuban viticulture state farm appeared here. The beginning of the 20s is also associated with the beginning of the research work of the Anapa Zonal Experimental Station established here, which was engaged in the selection of new varietal grapes.
Mass grape cultivation began in Dzhemet at the end of the 19th century
In parallel with the development of viticulture, the village began to attract attention as an excellent sanatorium and resort area. The healing and health effects of this place on the human body were noticed in ancient times. At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries. Dachas were actively built here; in 1909, one of the first Anapa sanatoriums, V. Budzinsky, appeared. This resort place itself was called – Sands
. Almost from the very beginning, Sands began to be considered a children's resort, but there was no mass use of it in this capacity before the revolution. Only after the consequences of the devastation of the Civil War were eliminated, Dzhemete began to actively develop as a children's resort.
Organized baths were held on the Sands at the beginning of the 20th century
The beginning of the creation of children's camps in the 20s of the 20th century is connected in Dzhemet directly with the appearance of a huge number of street children - children orphaned during the years of revolutionary changes, dispossession, repression, etc. At that time, children fled en masse to the south of Kuban, settling in the Peski area in forest thickets, in the mountains, etc. To accommodate these children, confiscated mansions were adapted, tent camps were created, washrooms, canteens, etc. were built.
In addition to organizing local street children, weakened and sick children from large Russian cities were taken to the vicinity of Anapa. On the initiative of the American Red Cross, which was engaged in rescuing St. Petersburg children, in the summer of 1921 a lot of children from Petrograd arrived here. Gradually, by the end of the 20s, the massive creation of children's pioneer camps began along the coast to organize regular children's recreation.
Numerous street children were the first to fill up the children's camps in Dzhemete
By the beginning of the war, seventeen pioneer camps and three sanatorium institutions were functioning in Peski for the recreation and treatment of children, including the family sanatorium “Mother and Child”. During the years of German occupation, most of these sanatoriums and medical institutions were destroyed. After the war, the sanatorium and resort life of the village was restored, and its development as a resort in the Krasnodar Territory again began to gain momentum year by year.
Since 1947, the main road (Dzhemetinskoye Highway), connecting Anapa with Dzhemete, around which the active creation of children's camps took place, began to be called Pionersky Avenue.
Pionersky Avenue today connects Anapa with Vityazevo, passing through Dzhemete
Today this avenue is the center of the resort life of the village. Hundreds of tourists pass through it every day in search of accommodation, food, entertainment and simply a relaxing resort pastime.

Pros and cons of holidays in Dzhemete
The famous resort of the Krasnodar Territory - the small but very popular village of Dzhemete - is located between Anapa and another resort village - Vityazevo. All of them are located almost within walking distance.
The village is geographically divided into two parts - Upper Dzhemete and Lower Dzhemete, which is the most popular area among holidaymakers. The border between them runs along the railway line on which the Anapa railway station is located.
Getting to Dzhemete is convenient both by train and by plane.
The proximity of the railway station to the village is a very great convenience for vacationers arriving here, and a big plus when choosing Dzhemete as a summer holiday destination. The proximity to the village of the Anapa airport, which can be reached in the village in 20-25 minutes, is also attractive for vacationers.
The entire infrastructure of the village (Nizhny Dzhemete), as already mentioned, is organized practically along one street - Pionersky Prospekt, which starts all the way from the right bank of the Anapka River near the Anapa Children's Park and stretches for more than 10 kilometers to the village of Vityazevo. This avenue, which replaces the embankment, is the most crowded and busiest thoroughfare in Dzhemete.
Pionersky Avenue is stretched parallel to the coastline of the village
Here, one after another, there are hotel and guest house buildings, a huge selection of cafes and restaurants for every taste and budget, and here are the main entertainment centers and walking green areas. Near the Tiki-Tak Water Park there is a small area of the Sunny Island Amusement Park with rides and a Ferris Wheel.
Other places in the village are quieter and calmer, and it is precisely for the silence and calm, measured rest that the vast majority of vacationers come here. The choice of housing in Dzhemete is very diverse and multifaceted. Finding a suitable option will not be difficult. Almost all hotels and guest houses have well-groomed grounds, comfortable rooms for accommodation, and excellent service. Larger hotels have swimming pools, children's animators, and even their own beach areas, where you don't have to pay for sun loungers and umbrellas.
The territory of the Boarding House "Fairy-2" is very comfortable and modern
If desired, you can stay in the private sector. Some choose to live in Upper Dzhemete or the Chemburku farm, which is located near Lake Chembur. If you want to combine business with pleasure, in Dzhemete you have the opportunity to relax in one of three local sanatoriums, where, with the help of qualified personnel, as well as local hydrogen sulfide water, silt and salty mud, excellent healing of the body occurs.
The first mud bath appeared in Sands at the beginning of the 20th century.
There are no problems with finding food in Dzhemet. You can eat in small cafes or budget canteens, in restaurants or fast food, rent accommodation on an all-inclusive basis, or cook yourself, since food is sold here on every corner. Prices in the village are close to the Russian average, but during the season they are somewhat inflated.
The biggest advantage of a holiday in Dzhemete is, of course, the wide, long beaches covered with fine light yellow sand. There are no problems with places on the beaches, because they are wide enough. All necessary equipment and attractions are present on the beach. The entrance to the sea is smooth and also sandy.
At the height of the season, a large number of vacationers rest on the shores of Dzhemete
True, adults do not like the too long journey across the sea to the depths, but families with children here can relax to the fullest. However, in recent years, during extreme heat, there has been a very strong bloom of the sea near the coastline. Flowering is usually observed in August, but sometimes it begins earlier. Therefore, for a holiday in Dzhemet it is better to choose the first summer months or the autumn “velvet” season. Because flowering stops when the air temperature drops.
The village is also rich in entertainment. In addition to beach attractions, there are street attractions - from children's cars and trains to slot machines. There is also a wonderful water park “Taki-Tak” in Dzhemet, on the vast territory of which you can spend the whole day. Not very far away is the Nemo Dolphinarium, combined with an aquarium. This entertainment center is located on the territory of Anapa.
You can linger for a long time at the Nemo Aquarium
In general, the proximity of Anapa is a very big plus when choosing a holiday in Dzhemete. On the one hand, the vacation takes place in a small, quiet resort village, on the other hand, there is a large city right next door, full of entertainment and interesting sights. You can read about what to see in Anapa and where to have fun in it here. You can find out which parks and squares are best to go to here.
Various excursion tours are also organized from Dzhemete. It is enough to buy a ticket at any of the excursion kiosks, and you will be taken to Abrau-Dyurso to the champagne wine factory, or to the protected natural area of Bolshoi Utrish.
There are more than enough excursion offers for vacationers in Dzhemete
"Dacha by the sea"

Entertainment and relaxation in Dzhemete
Dzhemete beaches
The velvet sandy beaches of the resort village of Dzhemete are recognized leaders in the Black Sea region. The wide beach strip, reaching up to 100 meters, stretches for almost 3.5 kilometers. Clean sand, diluted with small shell rock, covers not only the beach, but also the entrance to the sea, which is long and absolutely safe, which is great for children and family recreation.
The sandy beaches of Dzhemete are the main thing that attracts thousands of tourists here
The shallow sea off the coast warms up very well, but this also has negative consequences. During the hottest times, algae blooms here, which causes the most negative reviews from vacationers. It is impossible to predict when this flowering will occur, so it always becomes a not very pleasant surprise.
During hot periods, the water off the coast, to the chagrin of vacationers, begins to bloom
This village does not have an equipped embankment, which usually runs along the beach line. And therefore, in Dzhemete, access to the beaches is through sand dunes. On the one hand, this is quite romantic and unusual, on the other hand, it creates certain difficulties for older people and parents with strollers.
Access to the beach is through picturesque sand dunes
But now all the difficulties have been overcome, and you are on the beach! There is white sand on all sides, it’s not difficult to find a place to “park” your body, and the sea surface glitters ahead. No matter where you go on the coastline, you will most likely find yourself on a departmental beach. After all, the entire coastal area is divided between numerous sanatoriums, hotels, holiday homes, boarding houses and children's camps. But these territories are not surrounded by high fences, and although access to some of them is carried out only with a guest card, you can go almost everywhere, although some of them require a fee.
The most comfortable beaches are the areas of the Beton Brut hotels.
,
“Cottage Del Sol”
, etc., where there is a bar tent, volleyball courts and showers.
Beaches such as the beach of the Beton Brut Hotel are characterized by increased comfort
The beach of the Parus Sanatorium is very popular
, equipped with wooden flooring, sun loungers, umbrellas, etc. There is a first aid station and rescuers here, and there is a cafe where you can have a snack or treat yourself to delicious, cool ice cream. The territory of the Selena boarding house is also distinguished by a high level of beach equipment.
You can also relax well in the territories of the Vesta and Dynamo recreation centers, as well as the Fairy-1, Fairy-2, and Fairy-3 boarding houses.
By and large, the beaches of Dzhemete differ only in names
In areas belonging to children's health camps, such as "Volna". "Anapa-Neptune", etc. It must be borne in mind that while children are swimming, strangers may be asked to vacate the area. It is difficult to list all the beach areas in Dzhemete, and there is no particular need. All of them are great for beach holidays and fun summer activities.
Beach areas merge into one another along the entire village
On each of the beaches you can use the rental services of beach equipment - umbrellas, sun loungers, etc. During the tourist season, all beaches have a large selection of attractions for both children and adults. There are also local vendors constantly selling baklava, homemade wine, boiled shrimp, etc. There are offers to take pictures with animals, take a tour, buy jewelry, etc. There are also interesting options for lovers of diving, windsurfing and fishing.
All equipment and attractions on the beaches are paid
Tiki-Tak water park
Pionersky Avenue, 38
An ideal vacation spot for all vacationers is the Tiki-Tak water park, which is located directly in the village of Dzhemete. Vacationers come here from Anapa, Vityazevo, Sukko and other nearby resort villages.
Water park "Tiki-Tak" is a popular entertainment place in the Anapa region
The territory of this water park is quite large. In addition to the traditional slopes, there are a number of swimming pools, a jacuzzi, a lazy river, a beach, etc. Animation events are constantly held in the form of foam parties and various competitions.
Of course, visiting such an entertainment center is not cheap, but you can spend an unforgettable day there, bringing pleasure to both yourself and your children. Amusement Park "Sunny Island"
Pionersky Prospekt 38 A

Any of the park's paths will lead to some kind of attraction
This amusement park is open only during holiday periods from May to October every day from 10 a.m.
Chembur Lake
A local natural attraction in the form of the amazing Chembur Lake is located at the entrance to Dzhemete from Anapa. Its length along the Simferopol highway is almost two kilometers.
Chembur Lake is a famous natural attraction of Dzhemete
The southern neighbor of the reservoir is the Anapa plavni (swampy lowlands) of the Anapka River, and between them is the Chemburka farmstead, which some vacationers choose for summer accommodation. Chembur Lake has been known for its healing properties since ancient times. There is even a legend that in ancient times, wounded and dying warriors, with the help of healing mud, very quickly recovered here and got back into formation to the fear and death of their enemies.
Many vacationers come to the lake for free recreation
Chembur Lake has a depth of half a meter to two meters. Its silty, slightly salted mud helps with rheumatism, joint pain, atherosclerosis and diseases of the digestive system. Greater access to mud appears in the summer, during periods of drought, when the lake becomes shallower and the silt layers warm up well.
Anapa plavni
The swampy lowland, or the so-called Anapa floodplains, is separated from Lake Chembur by a dam along which a road is laid - Koltsevaya Street.
Anapa plavni - another unique natural area of Dzhemete
In the 17th century, Anapa Bay was located in this place, which was a trading port. But gradual siltation turned its northern part into an estuary. This happened at the beginning of the 19th century. The southern part of the former bay was drained and built up over time and today belongs to Anapa. And from the entire large bay, only the small Anapa Bay reached us.
Anapa floodplains, considered a natural reserve since the 60s, have long been overgrown with reeds, sedges and other marsh grasses. The Anapka River flows through their territory. This place is very fond of waterfowl, which find shelter and sufficient food here in the form of crustaceans, plankton, and worms at any time of the year. Fish are also found in the shallower waters. Here you can catch pike, carp, catfish, ram, etc.
Many birds found shelter and food on the Anapa floodplains
And on the territory of the reserve you can find not only turtles, lizards, frogs, but even muskrats, weasels, raccoon dogs, etc. And along the banks of the smooth rivers, herds of horses, camels, and donkeys graze. Such a very picturesque place of natural nature is conducive to pleasant, relaxing walks along its banks. Unfortunately, aggressive human activity to seize the territory of the Anapa flood plains can lead to the destruction of this amazing natural area. Therefore, today the Anapa plavni are considered a specially protected area.
Tiki-Tak water park
It is located at the address: Anapa, Dzhemete, Pionersky Ave., 38.
This is the largest water park in Europe, covering an area of 3.5 hectares. Here you can visit:
- ten pools (including a wave pool with six types of waves, as well as a spa pool);
- 24 slides with a total length of more than two kilometers.
A slow river flows in the water park, and a magnificent children's complex “Rainy Season” has been created. Family descent from a twenty-meter height (rafting) is very popular today.

And near the lake a real entertainment complex has formed, which includes the African Village, the Medieval Lion's Head Castle, and the Brave Heart Adventure Park. So you can devote a whole day to traveling to this small village. More details about all the attractions of Sukko can be found here.
Big Utrish
And if you have already arrived in Sukko, located 24 km from Dzhemete, then you can drive quite a bit more - to the village of Bolshoi Utrish. This village is an attraction in itself. It is located in an amazing place in the reserve of the same name. It's just very beautiful here! In addition, the local sea is considered the cleanest, and its wild pebble beaches in the lagoons are simply stunning.
Protected nature and wild coastline are the main attractions of B. Utrish
More detailed information about the beaches and attractions of Bolshoy Utrish is here.
Visiting the mentioned surrounding areas will not cause much trouble, since they are all located at a fairly close distance from the location. But if you have your own car, you can go to more remote areas - Novorossiysk, Abrau-Durso, etc.

Wild beaches
If you move away from Dzhemete towards Bolshoi Utrish, a series of wild beaches begins - favorite stopping places for “savages”. Large dunes separate vacationers from each other, creating the complete illusion of a secluded holiday in the lap of nature.
The wild beaches are as flat as those in the village: in order to swim, you need to walk through the shallow water. The dunes are even higher than in Dzhemet, but are often covered with vegetation and low shrubs. Of course, there is no talk of any infrastructure. Therefore, for a good rest, tourists have to take towels, umbrellas and snacks with them.
But the picturesque views attract many photographers, yogis, and families who decide to have a romantic picnic in the fresh air. Some beaches have become permanent havens for nudists.
